The Blaze’s Will Cain Calls Out Debbie Wasserman Schultz in Frustrating Interview…Again

Will Cains Second Testy Exchange With Debbie Wasserman Schultz on CNNThe Blaze’s Will Cain has proved in the past he’s not scared to confront the always-smug DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. And he did just that on Friday on CNN.

(Related: Debbie Wasserman Schultz Gets Testy with The Blaze’s Will Cain on CNN After Confronted About Inaction)

Cain wanted to know why the Democrats are bent on attacking Mitt Romney on his Bain Capital days when Barrack Obama did essentially the same thing when the government took over the auto industry.

“Let’s compare apples to apples,” Cain said. “It seems to me the criticism you’re offering is that Mitt Romney went into businesses and laid people off. But wouldn‘t the apples to apples comparison be that’s exactly what Barack Obama did when he touts the auto industry as a feather in his cap, didn’t the federal government and Barack Obama go in and layoff thousands of autoworkers to save that industry?”

Wasserman Schultz, who made sure to use her eyes to send a message, didn’t think it was comparing “apples to apples,” as Cain suggested. In fact, she quickly tried to spin it as showing how Romney would have let the auto industry fail, while Obama cares enough to rescue it.

Cain wasn’t having it, and tried to push her. But Wasserman Schultz snapped back: “You asked me a question, and I’m going to answer the question. I may not answer it the way you want me to.”

“I doubt that,” Cain replied.

When Cain used Wasserman Schult’s own argument to point out that both leaders, Romney and Obama, saved net jobs by laying off workers, the Florida Congresswoman replied flatly, “No.”

Watch the frustrating exchange, below:

The internet is now starting to buzz with reaction to the interview. Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey writes that, “It’s fair to say that The Blaze and CNN contributor Will Cain wins the Internet today.” The Weekly Standard also took notice.

And guess what: even the Washington Post published a piece yesterday noting Obama’s failed record of investing in private companies, as Morrissey notes.

How do you like them “apples”?

How to bring down a lefty huh?

Ok. I will give it a shot.

Why does Romney’s budget not cut current spending levels? Why does Romney endorse Obama’s spending?

Why does Romney support bills like the Patriot Act, NDAA, and gun control bills? Does he not like our Constitution?

Why does Romney think we would be wasting our time looking at the FED? Does he really not understand the roll the FED plays in destroying our country?

Why does Romney think we should stay in the UN? Why is Romney for sending American tax dollars to foreign countries that hate us? Why does Romney think we should remain the global police force?

Does it bother you at all that the same big banks that fund Obama, fund Romney?

Why did Romney say bailing out the auto industry was a good idea, then he said he was against it? Does Romney not understand that YOUTUBE has all of his flips and flops?

Abby, I am guessing you will flop around like Debbie did if you even try to answer these questions.

That’s a lot of loaded questions you have there MUTINY…but quite honestly…Obama is an abject failure.

For his lack of vision, Chicago style payolla and ineptitude -that is prevelant throughout his administration- he plays games with the people of this country to attempt to cover his lack of leadership.

Moving the baseline of government spending to make his profligate spending appear to be lower than it is. Taking credit for increased oil and gas production when in fact it has been on private and state land out of his reach..in fact on federal lands where he can influence policy, it’s decreased by nearly 50%. “Saved and created” jobs. “If we dont’ pass this stimulus unemployment will go over 8%”. “I’ll cut the deficit in half in my first term”. “If you like your current plan you can keep it”.

      Where to begin here?

Obama crowed about bringing in Obamacare under $1 trillion. The CBO just looked at it again and its’ now costing us $1.76 trillion…and the treats havent’ even kicked in yet.
An underemployment rate higher than its’ been since WWII. A reduced and smaller workforce. The slowest and most sluggish recovery from a recession in living memory. Record deficits. Profligate spending.

Honestly MUTINY..I don’t care what you ask about Romney…he’s STILL the better choice over the abject failure that is Barack Obama. The American people deserve better than Barack Obama they’ve been hurting long enough.

Does Al Gore use it at any of his homes? Does DWS? Does John Kerry? Does Nancy Pelosi? Does Harry Reid? Do they all drive Volts? Do they only plug in their chargers when they need to charge an electronic device then unplug them as soon as everything is charged? Do they make sure their tires are inflated every time they leave the house? Do their children take public transportation to school? Do they only eat healthy foods?

My comments made you think Ron Paul supporters are for the Dems?

That is a typical response from someone who is establishment or just completely ignorant.

The reason why I am so against Mitt Romney is because when George Bush ran for president he ran on almost libertarian platform. During his term he was more and more progressive each year. Currently we have a possible nominee that is doesnt even cut current spending levels.

We needed to put someone up against Obama who could challenge his record and have real ideas different from Obama and Bush. We tried it your way with McCain and he got creamed. We will not win running a vanilla campaign, we need excitement, energy, and different ideas. Romney has none of those three.

Let’s have some acute self-awareness here.

The Blaze’s blogosphere comments can only reply to original posit, and cannot reply to replies.

This is creating a dumbed-down atmosphere in which it is very hard to have an elevated conversation.

That GB has allowed it (or promulgated it) thus far, perhaps indicates he is gathering a one-post sort of ugha-ugha-amen crowd of sheep, rather than inculcating higher thought & conciousness.

The huge amount of white space is telling, as if only “ugha, ugha amen” comments are desired, while expecting mostly empty-space environs.

PJMedia does much better elevating the consciousness of its readers by enabling replies to replies, and lessening the white or empty space (empty-headedness) with longer and more cogent posts.

      See…. Victor Davis Hanson’s blog on PJMedia…
      http://pjmedia.com/victordavishanson/winning-battles-losing-wars/#comments

‘Cause even when The Blaze readers want a conversation, as in this particular posting… it is made too difficult by how this whole blogosphere is organized primarily as a “ugha, ugha amen” of the Beckian mindset…. while lacking a peer relationship to Beck’s ideas.

I have a VERY UNCOMFORTABLE feeling about how this Troglodyte-blogosphere has been designed and results in a rude & unhealthy primordial sycophancy. It’s a rube-Beckbot creator, is it not?

      Blaze enthusiasts could demand change?

Jaycen, no, that’s not how a debate works. You didn’t take a debating class in high school did you? The participants in the debate aren’t allowed to talk over the other person. Each person is allowed to present their point of view and the judges decide if those in the debate answered the debate points or not.

I take it you don’t watch political debates either. The moderates have to work to prevent the candidates from talking over one another, because that’s not acceptable in a debate.

Sorry, you have your idea about what constitutes a “fair” debate from Hannity and others like him. When one person can “win” an argument by talking over the other person in a debate, that’s not a debate is it? You‘d know that if you’d taken a debate class in high school.

But she did answer his question. He was trying to compare the layoffs that Bain was responsible for with the saving the auto industry in the US. Wasserman pointed out the President Obama saved 10s of thousands of jobs in the industry itself, and, something the Republicans forget, the jobs of the thousands of vendors that sell to the auto industry. How do you say that 10s of thousands of jobs were “saved” when all of the big 3 shut plants down in the US and dealerships (definately in GM’s case) were forced to close? How do you explain Ford‘s recent success in regaining it’s credit rating and it’s logo rights (which it had put up as collateral on a loan to help restructure) while GM and, more-so, Chrysler bilked the US Taxpayer for billions?

I work for one of the Big 3 and I can tell you that you are full of BS. All Obama did was give the UAW full reign over Chrysler, partial reign over GM, and Ford one heck of a scare. Fortunately Ford saw through his BS and did what they needed to ON THEIR OWN.

@JZS, You are sure “shovel ready”.

The reason I am in the automotive industry is because my industry (construction) was decimated by Jimmy Carter in 1977 with the enactment of the CRA. I actually am in the automotive industry by the means of acts that Glenn Beck espouses. I had a friend that knew I needed a break (and any form of a break, no matter how “below my pay-scale” it would be) and offered a entry level position.

Funny how a conservative will ride out a storm in any calm bay while the liberal heads full steam into the rocks.

I may need to stand corrected. I blamed Jimmy Carter and the passage of the CRA in ‘77. But that played on the federal government insuring risk through the use of Taxpayer dollars in the Glass-Steagall Act of ‘33 (another Dem in control).

Keep in mind Bankruptcy does not always mean going out of business. GM wanted to go into bankruptcy so that they could renegotiate their union contracts, there by slow down the bleeding and make their company solvent again. Obama was protecting the UNIONS so that they could pick the winners and losers and there by keep his money stream going and hand over 40% of GM to the UNIONS, mean while taking away all private investors money. Thats right private investors lost everything and the union and the “government” gained everything GM had to offer them.
Romney, with Bain Capitol, helped to prop up companies and give them the funds needed to stay in business and also give them a better business plan so they could become profitable. The private investors of those companies were treated as part of the solution.
The take over of GM was a POWER GRAB by the PROGRESSIVES/COMMUNISTS!
IT WAS NOT TO SAVE IT; IT WAS TO CONTROL IT !!!!!!!!!

Obama cut the # of dealerships. He cut profitable dealerships not ones losing money. that is partisanship.

Obama stole money from pensioners. Many stock holders are pension funds like CalPers (The California pension system). Obama broke the law when he said the stock holders would get nothing.

Not to worry though, Paul will be the nominee as there will be over 1144 Paul supporters as delegates at the National Convention that WILL vote for Paul on the first round. Federal law trumps state law and Party rules on bound delegates, in fact the Party rule 38 says the same thing..

They are attempting to promote that Capitalism does Not Function. But, it does… it causes a concentration of Capital into Wealth… which must be kept somewhere, so it is Invested… where it then is used to Support, Expand, and Start Businesses… where using Supply & Demand, attracting Competition, people are treated to the Goods & Services that they want at a reasonable price.

What it does not do is to give Money to people who do not participate in the System! This is what pyssed Marx: he wanted to play RobinHood and take from the Rich to give to Poor… which destorys Capitalism… but provides Less of a Standard Of Living, which must be Managed by a Government, where by Regulating Economics results in Regulating People: FASCISM!

ENCINO_NAMBLA_MAN, Are you just telling lies, or falling for Pelosi and Wassaman-Schultz talking points. Others here along with myself have pointed out that Bain has had an 80 to 82% success rate by investing in and saving failing businesses. Bain made their money back with interest and that is the way it is. The failing businesses were those that were either too far gone or were too overburdened with union contracts and/or debt. After so many years like that one particular steel mill was propped up by Bain for 8 years. Those 8 years of it’s employees and debts being paid. But, for some reason it and others like it could not or would not be turned around into a profitable business. As I mentioned earlier today, those losses likely cost Bain even after they were closed and the assets sold off. Failure does not produce profits.

Nice Try, that IS NOT what Romney did at Bain, you likely are spouting the party line and have no idea what you are talking about, or you are purposefully misstating facts for your agenda (that’s how politicians refer to lying). That IS what happened to a specific account held by Bain Capital, but that specific company folks keep referring to was a story that took place under David Axelrod, a Obama adviser, yet they mislead to infer Bain Capital = Romney. Dim Whit here never did answer the question – she avoided it as you try to do as well. Isn’t what Obama did with the auto industry – a bankruptcy restructuring – the same thing? -some people get laid off so that the company can be saved. Answer – YES IT WAS. Romney advocated NOT for a no string attached bailout, but for a Bankruptcy restructuring – which is what eventually happened. He NEVER said let GM fail and die. He said don’t give them a blank check for business as usual, force them to undergo bankruptcy, then help the restructure. Your type just hopes Americans are ignorant of the terminology of business and want people to think Bankruptcy = death. Since Obama has forced more bankruptcy during his term than almost ever, my bet is lots of folks now know what it is.

The game the Dems are playing has gotten so ridiculous that obvious comparisons like the subject matter presented in the interview between Cain and the DNC blow hard have taken on an “otherworldly” aura where fact and truth for one side is merely a collection of carefully selected words that has nothing to do with answering but everything to do with spin. I do think the general public after being treated to repeated insulting bald faced lies in the face of relevant comparisons that should be answered honestly are frowing very tired of the Dems dodging and weaving in the face of real fault and failure and falilure on thier part to own up to any of it. The fact that the President through campaign speeches of late has tried to paint the Repubs as the out of control spenders and his Admin as the fiscal hawks , despite massive evidence that they are to blame, should have every american (of any political stripe) to feel like they’ve been treated like idiots. Obama is scyttling his own ship with ridiculous claims like that (of late). At some point the MSM out of sheer survival must begin to call BS on the whoppers Obama and the DNC chair are now pushing.

Now that’s a brilliant idea, and the Romney camp should pick up on it. A vote for Mitt is a vote against DWS of the DNC. I love it. Sure would leave her hair in knots.

Nothing on all the GM franchises that were closed. Nothing on the exorbitant relief to the pension funds. The good lady lives in la la land.

I am glad we did not lose GM and Chrysler, but I have serious reservations about how it was done and what it will really cost in the end.

So you don’t see a difference between restructuring to save an industry and save millions of jobs for just that vs. restructuring, saddling companies with debt, laying off workers and utilizing the bankruptcy laws for the purpose of producing way above average returns for investors. There is a difference and you know it. Your ideological pathology won’t allow you to admit it.

JROOK, You’ve just described what Bain did and did with something like an 80 to 82% success rate. Unlike when the government invests tax payer money and continues to invest in a loosing business like this administration has done countless times with huge losses, a private company does not have the endless funds taxed from the public to continue to pour into a growing black hole. The greatest majority of the companies that Bain invested in like Staples did a turn around and became successful again. Other companies with a total bent towards financial ruin or with unions that refuse to allow such a turn around will simply become chaff in the wind. They will commit financial suicide. Not even Bain, nor the U.S. Government can save those fools, nor should they.

      @JROOK

      I’m confused.

Saving ONE company saved the WHOLE industry?

That argument is like “fair share” and it only works for the uninformed.

Is it possible that letting one business fail would’ve revitalized the whole industry? Someone else would’ve picked up the slack and absorbed the best of the employees into their own company.

Nobody is too big to fail. Competition has high demands. It allows for the best to survive.

JROOK, I’d like to add to that last post. I would venture to say that those fewer failed businesses that were eventually closed and their assets sold off, Bain likely suffered more loss of their total investments than the asset sales made.

You got the talking points. First the govt broke the law by cheating bond holders out of their rights as established by law. Bond holders include fireman/teacher/police pension funds and others. Why there hasn’t been a lawsuit against the govt is beyond me. GM has NOT paid back all the money and the govt stock ownership has not yet reached break even. There is no way it could be proved that Bain’s purpose was to load the co. with debt just to bankrupt them. That is ridiculous. They could make much more money if the co. was successful. I am confident that Bain at least obeyed the law, while the govt made up their own rules to reward the unions.

JROOK..a structured bankruptcy would not have closed down GM it would have set the company on the better fiscal path. Today we have the failure that is the Chevy Volt thanks to Obama’s playing CEO. But what would have happened in is structured bankruptcy is that existing UAW contracts would have had to have been torn up. Obama couldn’t have that..union money and foot soldiers are very important to the comnunity organizer from Chicagoland.

The GM/Chrysler restructuring debacle was nothing short of criminal. The Feds as others have pointed out changed the rule of law to suit thier supporter’s wishes (the UAW) and froze out entire blocks of private investors that until this case came along had the private investors first in line to be paid off. Why this wasn’t blocked from happening the way it did boils down to simple corruption on the part of the Feds. The way this was handled was unprecendented in the nations history and rotten to the core. The DOJ should have done the right thing here by US taxpayers but we all know why they didn’t act. Holder is an Obama stooge and was in complete collusion with the whole sorry event. Union contracts and poor management killed GM and Chrysler…they should have been allowed to restructure under existing laws without interferance from Gov’t, period.

It’s amazing to me how DWS separates BHO from the massive job losses at GM and Chrysler, both at the plants and the closed dealerships. Then, of course, there is the issue where thousands of people lost their investments in the companies, bondholders were stripped of their legal rights, and taxpayers are still on the hook for the money pumped into the companies. To add salt to the wound, GM will not even be paying taxes on their so-called record profits, because the IRS changed the rules to allow the ‘new GM’ to keep the business loss carry forwards from the ‘old GM’. And BHO keeps saying that corporations don;t pay their fair share? The dirtiest secret of the bailouts is that the UAW is, after the government, the largest shareholder in the company. Of course, they just took the money that the invesors and bondholders lost in the deal. What an interesting way to share the wealth!

The closing of the dealerships to save the corporation truly bumfuzzled me. To increase your sales one would think that you would need more dealerships, especially when they are privately owned. Not a financial burden to the manufacturer. That logic equates to the government closing a percentage of 7-11s in an effort to save Slurpee.
We know what it was, an attack on known dealerships owned by conservative and donors to the Republican Party, nothing less.

MORE!!! Hope more and more reporters will step up to the plate and start coming back with questions that will “nail” these people & stop letting them get away with their lies. They really aren’t that “bright” it seems to me. They’re just good at using select “words”, talking points, dodging, etc. When you press for truth and state facts yourself – they get flustered, not used to dealing with that since the rest of the media is complicit with their deceitful ways.
A similar incident happened with Elizabeth Warren – stonewalling a persistent reporter about her claim about bing Cherokee -

Beck used to work there too. That was the only time that I would actually tune in to CNN for an entire show. During the earlier Bush years, they began to change their format slightly in hopes of resembling Fox’s Fair and Balanced motto because viewership was in an avalanche fall. When 0bama won the election they went back to their old ways. Looks like they just dipped a toe back into the water again.

Also BHO did not use his money, but the taxpayers money. Some of the taxpayers got taken to the woodshed twice. The bailout is being paid for by taxes and borrowed Chinese money. Also, many small/large investors had stock and bonds in General Motors via investment, IRA, or 401K. The bailout/handout was written in such a way that the unions lost nary a penny, but not only did the investors get $0.00/dollar, but they were precluded from bringing either an individual or class action lawsuit. Some intrepid journalist or employee of Delphi should ask the One or VP Gaffe-tastic to explain that one away the next time they spout off about how Government Motors has repaid all the money.
