‘The Closet Behind Him Had a Bullet Hole’: New Info in Case of Soldier Who Died While Skyping With Wife

The Closet Behind Him Had a Bullet Hole: Soldier Dies While Skyping With Wife

This undated photo provided by the U.S. Army shows Capt. Bruce Kevin Clark. The family Clark, a Texas-based Army medic serving in Afghanistan, says Clark's wife witnessed the officer's death, which happened Monday, April 30, 2012 as the two were video chatting via Skype. (AP Photo/U.S. Army)

The wife of a soldier who watched her husband die during a video chat session saw a bullet hole in a closet behind him, his family said Sunday.

Capt. Bruce Kevin Clark, 43, had been stationed as a chief Army nurse in Afghanistan when he died during a Skype session with his wife in the U.S. on Monday.

“There was no sign that CPT Clark was in any discomfort, nor did he indicate any alarm,” a statement from the family said. “Then CPT Clark was suddenly knocked forward. The closet behind him had a bullet hole in it. The other individuals, including a member of the military, who rushed to the home of CPT Clark’s wife also saw the hole and agreed it was a bullet hole.”

The Skype connection remained open for two hours while Clark’s family and friends both in the U.S. and in Afghanistan tried to get him help. They were “hoping for a rescue and a miracle, but later learned that it was not to be.”

“After two hours and many frantic phone calls by Mrs. Clark, two military personnel arrived in the room and appeared to check his pulse, but provided no details about his condition to his wife,” the statement said.

Susan Orellana-Clark said she was revealing the details of what she saw “to honor my husband and dispel the inaccurate information and supposition promulgated by other parties.”

An Army spokesman had initially said Clark’s death appeared to be from “natural causes” but later said he misspoke, CNN reported.

The Pentagon has since said Clark’s death is under investigation.

It could be fratricide, but I am going to blame the Taliban. There have been like 45 incidents in the last 4 years resulting in 75 deaths. These deaths are not evenly distributed. The incidents are ramping up.

The military is not counting incidents that did not result in deaths. Stateside the military counts every mugging or sexual assault against a service member. But they don‘t count every wounding ’in country’ by enemy action if it is thru Taliban wearing Afghan Army uniform?

We are not serious about winning the War. We have not eradicated the main financial support of the Taliban, drugs. We do not report every incident of Taliban recruiting or entering the Afghan Army & firing upon our troops. Karzai is more worried about family honor, when his brother, a crook, is called a crook than fighting the Taliban.

Yes may the Lord comfort his family at this time. And like others I am sick and tired of our military being portrayed as a world wide aid logistics delivery company. Yes there should would be a time to offer “GOOD WILL” that would have been 10 years ago after destroying to surrender every living human in the Afghan Bedrock that wanted to die for their misguided beliefs. PERIOD.Then you could have given them a blowup soccer field and came home. The modern civilization could have then moved in and exploited their minerals and brought whoever was left living not hiding in a burka into the 21 century.. That isn’t the responsibility of our military..

If Obama’s father really is Frank Marshall Davis, then Obama has no Kenyan blood in him.

Really that is none of our business who his parents are until one considers that he was sold to the American Public based on hype starting with his book the Audacity of Hope or is the Audacity of Hype?

It would have made us look at his communist filthy rich grandparents more & consider his communist & yet privileged private school upbringing more if it was known he was an illegitimate child. It would bring up the question why was Stanley hanging around Frank Davis? Answer is because she was a red diaper baby. & So is Barack.

Is illegitimate birth is inconsequential by itself & should not be held against him.

What should be held against him is that he grew up in among communists & yet he portrays himself other than a communist.

If you are communist then state it & be proud. We’ll vote up or down on that basis.

While lineage is instructive, the man himself is an arrogant poser, someone that lies over and over again and no one in the press holds him accountable. A non political example: He promised, and Michele promised that they were going to adopt a shelter dog. It was an often repeated promise during the campaign. Their excuse for the dog they did get was allergy problems, that is bogus, their are non-allergenic dogs in shelters. Keeping their word is NOT something they do, even in the most mundane of things. Obama’s word means nothing. He is NOT an honorable man what ever his politics.

I read about this story during the week and was saddened.

As a former Regular Army Recruiter/Station Commander for the ANC (Army Nurse Corp) assigned to the same Recruiting Company in which this man entered the US Army through in Rochester, NY, it truly makes me sad again.

I was in this Recuiting Company long ago as the very first Nurse Recruiter to hold this new position. Our Battalion was based in Syracuse which had 1 Nurse Recruiter covering half way from Albany to Buffalo. They added myself and a Recruiter in Buffalo. The Army was going through a big push to recruit R.N.’s during the eighties and we did extremely well both with Regular Army and Reserve Commissions. The selection and Commission process was NOT an easy one either for these Medical professionals.

The Regular Active Army required a 4yr BSN and the Reserves required 2, 3 yr (Diploma) as a minimum requirement with educational advancement to achieve BSN and beyond. BSN students in their senior years could submit applications and be granted a Commission in lieu of State Board results for State Nursing Licensure.

These fine Americans now as in the past, are the best of the best in their chosen profession and just as this Captain did (I’m positive), will always reflect great credit upon themselves, their units and the United States Army as well as their Country.

May this Captain and this true Army Professional rest in peace. He is in my prayes as well as his family.

Thanks Mom. I wanted to write this without making myself the focus while providing some basic information about the system and how I know about it..

Although I was not in any way connected to the Medical Service Corps job skill-wise (MOS), it was an honor to learn about the NurSing field and how it applied to the Army. I was proud to be a part of the Army’s “Be All that You Can Be” era. It waS touch and go in the beginning of my Nurse Recruiting experience (obvious lack of knowledge regarding the profession), but I had the very professional and experienced Army Nurse Corps to bring me up to speed and allow me to represent them for a short period of time.

Just like the dragging on of justice for 9/11 or more recently Fort Hood being delayed until so much of the country moves on to the next hot topic. I doubt this country will ever have an unbiased, truth-seeking media again much less will our government be fully able to rid itself of the infiltration of socialists, leftists, progs, et al.

My heart breaks for all of our military. We are in pointless engagements with no clear rules and certainly no real leadership. Our military is stretched far too thin and being intentionally weakened from the joke of a CiC.

The saddest part is the soldiers who pay the ultimate sacrifice as their leaders drive the final nails into this country’s coffin. God protect those brave men and women!

Are you that naive? I have the highest regard for our soldiers but I also know how the left operates. I have no idea who the “spokeman” is or where he got his orders or information. What I also know is that death from a gunshot doesn’t exactly look like “natural causes”. The “spokesman” either intentionally lied probably following orders or misinformation they received…… or is incompetent. But given the wife is speaking out and stating she is correcting “inaccurate information” to honor her husband, I stand by my original statement and propose a cover-up was in the works……likely ordered from the top on down to the spokesman.

      Welcome to the new Amerika.
