The Communist Part III: How Obama Discovered ‘Hope,‘ ’Change‘ and ’Forward!’

This is the third and final installment of The Blaze’s look into “The Communist,” Paul Kengor’s dynamic new book exposing the fervent Communist beliefs of President Obama’s longtime mentor, Frank Marshall Davis.

 

The Communist Part III: Where Obama Got The Idea of Fundamental Change

Tuesday, July 17th, marks the release of Paul Kengor’s hard-hitting biography, “The Communist.” Published for Glenn Beck’s Mercury Ink, The Communist maps out in incredible detail and with irrefutable facts, the truth behind the man who served as President Obama’s longtime mentor and inspiration, Frank Marshall Davis.

During his research phase, Kengor read no less than 500 pages of the Chicago Star, the Communist Party newspaper for which Davis was editor-in-chief. He posits that the pages are “unflaggingly pro-Soviet” and toe the Communist party line unwaveringly. In addition to scouring Davis’ various professional publications in which he unabashedly parroted party talking points, Kengor also examined Davis‘ personal relationships and narratives to paint a complete picture of the president’s ideological role model.

 

Invoking the Founders

In The Communist, Kengor brings up a few fascinating points about the modus operandi of American Marxists like Davis. For instance, did you know that hard-line American progressives often invoked the Founding Fathers in their attempts to sell Communism to the masses? According to Kengor, quoting the Founding Fathers was a staple tactic among the U.S. intelligentsia, namely, its hardline Communist contingent.  In fact, The Communist reveals that there are several instances in which Davis himself invoked the Founders in the Honolulu Record, another newspaper he spearheaded.

This same meme can be seen manifest in the president – a constitutional law professor – being portrayed as a “modern day descendant of Thomas Jefferson,” who posits he was inspired by the U.S. Constitution to create Obamacare. Meanwhile, few are aware that Frank Marshall Davis staunchly advocated for Universal Health Care, as is documented in his various arguments published in both the Honolulu Record (1955) and Chicago Star newspapers. Also of consequence, Senator Claude Pepper (nicknamed “Red Pepper”), a columnist at Davis’ Communist publication, The Star, actually wrote the legislation for socialized medicine during his time in office.

While Kengor cedes that Frank Marshall Davis may not have directly instructed a young impressionable Obama to one day lead the charge for nationalized health care, it is highly plausible Davis’ outspoken views on the matter shaped his worldview.

 

Fundamental change 

To illustrate another modern-day parallel, Davis and his publication routinely vilified the wealthy, invoked class warfare, consistently accused high-income earners of “not paying their fair share,” blasted “big oil,” and loathed beyond words (wait for it) General Motors.

“Obama was his pupil.”

While Marxists of all walks have perpetuated many of these same hackneyed clichés about the bourgeois since time immemorial, calling for the nationalization of GM is, of course, a more specific bombshell. When taken in its proper context, the words of deeds of Frank Marshall Davis perhaps speak to the president’s belief system at its most base level.

Likewise, the Obama campaign’s use of the slogans, “forward!” and “change,” are not as innocent as they may seem. Both are in fact hard-and-fast Communist catch phrases that were used in essentially all Soviet propaganda campaigns. These specific words, as Kengor establishes, were also cited routinely by Frank Marshall Davis when talking about the fundamental, “transformative change” he believed America was in such desperate need of.

Kengor notes that The Chicago Star routinely used the slogan “forward!” and that Davis himself talked about “change” in an “ideological,” rather than passive way.

At its core, Kengor maintains that Frank Marshall Davis instilled a belief in Obama that “fundamental change” is in fact possible. This, according to the author, is perhaps Davis’ most important contribution to who would one day go on to become the 44rd President of the United States.

Another crucial similarity Kengor points to in his book is the Left’s exploitation and leveraging of “social justice pastors.”

To this end, Davis reached out to Christians, lecturing them on what side of the aisle they should stand on when it came to the Cold War and routinely argued that Communism was consistent with the Gospel of Jesus. Odd, considering the entire sociopolitical system hinges on a rejection of God and embrace of Atheism. To go one better, Davis even likened anti-Communists to Pontius Pilate.

“If Lenin was listening, he‘d have to leave the room because he’d be snickering so hard,” Kengor said. But, he qualified, Lenin would have approved of Davis’ tactics so long as they furthered the Communist interest.

By quoting the social justice elements of Christian scripture and repeating phrases like, “blessed are the peacemakers,” the nefarious tactics of Marxists worked in winning a contingent of social justice progressives and liberals to their side. “Bill Ayers does this to this day.”

“They are not your friends!” Kengor exclaimed as if talking to present-day social justice preacher Jim Wallis. “They see you as fools!”

In The Communist, Kengor juxtaposes Marxists’ history of enlisting social justice pastors into their ranks with Wallis and other present-day left-leaning Christians who have been an integral part of Barack Obama’s circle.

David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett

Did you know that David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett – both of whom are considered to be the president’s closest advisers – all have their own familial connections to Frank Marshall Davis and other notable Communists of the day?

Among Kengor’s myriad revelations is the fact that Obama’s chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod, (the one who specializes in engineering slogans) was mentored by David Canter, a key member of Chicago’s “Communist orbit.” Of note, Canter’s father, Harry, was among the group that purchased the Chicago Star from Frank Marshall Davis in September 1948.

“Both Harry and David Canter, like Davis, worked in the communist publishing world,” Kengor noted. Likewise, Vernon Jarrett, Valerie Jarrett’s father-in-law, was a writer for the Communist-controlled Packinghouse Workers Union.

 

More than meets the eye

At the end of the day, the content of Kengor’s book is substantive, factually documented, and fair in both its criticism and even at times sympathy for this complex, perhaps even troubled man. The book is not an indictment of President Obama, who cannot be held responsible for the deeds of his friends and family members. Rather, it is a pragmatic account of who the president’s mentor truly was, and a document that serves to show the parallels between the two men.

    I still say and stand beside this: Franklin Marshall Davis is Barack’s father. Is there anyone willing to look into this for proof? If your mother or father have strong genes, as a child, you tend to display those genes. Look at a picture of Barack sr and Marshall Davis, and tell me Barack doesn’t look like Davis. I dare you to. Listen to their voice patterns. See the features in their bodies. NONTHING about Barack resembles his supposed Kenyan father. Then look at the parallels between Obama and Marshall Davis…. Davis was more than a damn mentor, he‘s Barack’s father!

      I have always thought Davis was his father too. Why the issues over the birth cert? His Grandfather hooked Barry up with Davis, so maybe a few years earlier he hooked up his daughter with him. The name is just a ruse, name him after the Kenyan dude to hide the truth!

    How much information do we need to see the deep conspiracy from communists? I urge you to acquire a copy of “Masters of Deceit” by J Edgar Hoover. Published in 1958 by Henry Hold and Company, New York. This book provides the origins of communism in America that Joe McCarthy was brutalized for bringing to the surface. And it was Harry Truman and Democrats in the senate that carried out the distortion with “executive privilege” putting the FBI files on communists in the U S State department in the White House. Sound familiar? Read the book on the story of communism in America and how to fight it.

      Communist is right, go to infowars, to the store section and check out the DVD “Dreams From my REAL Father”. This video will put all the pieces neatly into place regarding Mr. Davis and his relationship/influence to Obama.

      We need to also remember Michelle saying we need to REWRITE our history and CHANGE our traditions and conversations.

      Fundamental change meant Marxism and our media, the WATCHDOGS of our freedom DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS.

      The mainstream media not only did not post the truth of thier investigations that would have prevented this fiasco but also REFUSED to give media coverage to the ONLY constitutional pres idental candidate on the slate, effectively preventing Americans from having any candidate other than those two puppets controlled by the same puppetmaster…Obama and Romney.

    The problem here is there a lot of people here in the US who believe that they are entitled and the gov should pay for them to do nothing. In fact if you look at the voting blocks these very people can likely out vote the workers in this country. We may be moving into an era that there are more people who will not work and insist that the gov feed them. There is no doubt that the black messiah is a communist and wants to take this country so far left that he will introduce a law that there will be a fine if the haves do not pay for the have nots. Can’t wait for that to happen

    A lot of you still don’t GET IT! We may think of him as the dumbest person to ever hold office, but to most of Planet Earth, which is either Socialist, Communist or Islamist, he is the most brilliant and revered man in history because he single handedly (as they see it) brought America to her knees (sixteen trillion in debt and counting, Navy reduced to 1917 size, health care replced with bank busting socialized medicine garanteed to build debt that is unrecoverable), and put a bullet in her head once and for all (borders defenseless, replaced military officers with commys, gave away all our top secrets to our enemies (his friends) and all we could do is sit around and whine bout it. Obama did what no other country could do, he defeated the United States of America. Dosn’t matter how stupid WE think he is!

    I look around at this communist movement that’s going on and have to wonder, are there that many people that blind,or there really are that many communist among us. History is riddled with their failures so anyone that don’t know what they do are just brain dead. At this point our government has to be 60 percent or more communist and growing.

      They must have been carefully framing this for years, using the poor and uneducated for votes to obtain positions in government, then nibble away at our rights, slowly slipping the net over our heads! They use all the tools in Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”, Obama’s playbook. Sad thing is, they are thick in the education field and are brainwashing the youth and revising history. The Department of Education should dismantle “tenure” and the SEIU should be outlawed as there is obvious conflict of interest when government employees can squeeze their employers (the tax payers) for better pay, benefits, and retirement than the average tax payer!

      This is the plan that was laid out in the Weather Underground Manifesto back in the 60s. Bill Ayers and company thought they could carry it out immediately but found out that wouldn’t work. They figured it would take about forty years to get everything prepared. They had to indoctrinate a generation of young people and get everything set up.

      0bama has been being groomed for this ever since he was old enough to talk. At the time when it was understood that Hillary would be the next president, somebody gave the call that 0bama was ready. That‘s why Hillary’s “crown” was suddenly and abruptly snatched away and handed to 0bama.

    Sorry folks but this is where I must bring up the Paulbots again. The Paulbot cult was created to be a spoiler group to take away votes from 0bama’s opposition. They have been programmed to lump all politicians together and see them all as being equal. This is often done by connecting all politicians to the Bilderberg group. Paulbots have no clue about the history of 0bama, why his position is unique and why he is where he is now. To them, he’s just another one of the group which includes Romney, Bachmann, Gingrich, Cain, Santorum, West and all the others.

    A big part of this battle is to know who our enemies are.

    To the Paulbots who might respond to my post, I already know what you‘re going to say and most likely won’t read your post beyond finding out who you are. If you were aware of the things I said, you wouldn’t be Paulbots.

      Agree. Conservatives need to unite around the issues of limiting government and protecting individual rights against Big Brother. Any thing else is divisive and destructive. Considering the “ lies are good to foster our agenda” Left wing philosophy conservatives are up against today, they had better be very alert, cautious , resourceful, strong and UNITED. Period.     Someone needs to do a DNA match between Davis and Obama….Davis IS his father. Look at the lips, the ears, the nose and eyes, Obama and Davis could be twins!! Look at how Davis leans in this photo (Obama leans the same way, physically and politically)!! No doubt in my mind who fathered Obama.

    I have more to say. Why in the world would anyone accept Barack Obama as an intelligent human being? ALL of his college and university records are “sealed” by him. Why would that be? Why should I accept him as being intelligent when he doesn’t allow anyone to actually “see” what kind of grades he had? The he77 with Romney releasing a decade of income tax returns, I want to see Obama’s college and university records. If Obama is so “brilliant”why does he hide his incredible brilliancy? I want to see actual proof that he knows that 2+ 2 = 4, and not 5.
