‘The Crying Caucus’: Boehner Isn’t the Only Republican Weeping on Capitol Hill

The New York Times:

The Crying Caucus just got its newest member — Senator Mitch McConnell.

Mr. McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, choked up Tuesday on the Senate floor, as he delivered an emotional send-off to his colleague, Senator Judd Gregg, a Republican from New Hampshire who is retiring at the end of this Congress.

“Now to say that I tried to convince Judd to stay is an understatement,” said Mr. McConnell, his voice cracking as he deployed a white handkerchief and strategic coughs. “But he knew it was his time to move on, and to write the next chapter in his life. And while senators come and go all the time, I can’t help but note that when Judd walks out of this chamber, when he walks out of this chamber for the last time, he’ll leave an enormous void behind.”

The shortest verse in the Bible is: “Jesus wept.” Was Christ a wimp or emotionaly unbalanced? He picked up his own cross and carried it to Calvary after being tortured, all FOR THE SAKE of people who hated him.
I SAY WEEPING IS PRETTY DARN MANLY AND GODLY!

Its one thing to show a tear and emotion, but these guys are a bunch of babblers. Time and place. And not at the drop of a hat. I’m a Christian and know it says that Christ wept when he was at the tomb of Lazarus. And our Savior showed tremendous emotion at the Cross. Christ’s weeping had a very painful aspect to it as would be expected coming from a man (understanding he was fully man and fully God). But the emotions these politicians are showing does not show emotion as a result of painful experience….in contrast it has a “weakness” bent to it. There is a difference if you just watch.

McConnell was saying good-bye to an old friend, hence tears. When I left Iowa to move to NC, I cried with my friends I left behind. Is acceptable to feel emotions.

The big problem is stopping the liberals from killing our country.
We need to call. e-mail or march to DC and tell them all………….
    1. Remove Soros from our country. Kick him out. [or get a covert ops team to help him leave]
    2. Tell Obamascum to stop and resign.
    3. Tell the Dems who will be leaving in Jan. to leave now.
    4. Tell the new congress members to wake up and Listen to We the People. We are very serious about rebuilding the greatest country in the world.

Is this really a story that requires coverage for more than a day. Let’s be fair then and cover the evil demonic laughing that goes on when a Democrat snookers the public in another of their spending sprees. It’s all deception folks to distract you from real issues. Let‘s see how long the coverage on Read’s 1.1 trillion omnibus budget lasts?

Seems as if a lot of people in the media cannot come up with anything constructive. As bad as so many of them are, making fun of a couple of people that actually show some emotion is sinking pretty low. But that is no surprise. It has to be hard to lose a friend that has been around as long as Judd Gregg has. I hate to see him go too. I am sad as I feel he is one of the best congressmen we have. I didn’t have to get up to a podium as McConnell did to say goodbye. That can’t be that easy to do that for any of his friends in congress. I WISH HIM WELL!!.

Has anyone thought that the reason he was crying is that he knows there is very little but hope left for our children and grand children? Is it possible that he knows that this country is in serious danger of going bankrupt and he and the rest of the Republicans can do little to stop it? Look at the ridiculous spending bill to continue to fund the government. The Democrats are furthering the process of destroying this nation. The debt is the thing that will ultimately bring us down. Why is this so difficult for average Americans and nearly all politicians to understand?

Come on Mitch and John. Please stand up to these foolish spenders and cut the earmarks out of the Bush Taxtable extention and the lastest Budget Extention.

The American voice was heard six weeks ago and you have already forgotten….Stop Spending, Make Huge Cuts in the Federal Government and Provide us with a Strong Military.

So far you have rolled over on these two spending bills and let the pay increases of the military lag!

So, Republicians are 0 for 3….sounds like a strike out in baseball! The progressive are making fools out you now!

-Cut the spending and take care of our military and our safety!

-Vote down these two pork filled bills.

-Have an up and down vote on one piece, extending the Bush Taxtables!

-Forget the rest….force the progressives to play ball the way the American people spoke!

Perhaps…just perhaps there are people left in this world that still find it difficult to believe that representatives of both Houses in the United States of America are intent on destroying the greatest nation on earth. It’s called patriotism.

The ‘left’ has proven over and over again that they don’t have an ounce of concern, compassion or common sense. The next time I hear someone in this administration say that they care about the middle class…well, I’m going to burst out laughing. They could care less about the middle class or the poor or the gays or the illegals. They care about themselves and their perceived ‘power’.
Maybe it‘s time the ’leftists‘ realized that the Conservatives read Alinsky just so they’d know what the left was thinking. Now that we know what the ‘left’ is trying to do, the first reaction is usually disbelief…followed by a few tears.
The ‘left’ will never understand that because they don’t have emotion. Like uncle George, they only have dreams of money and power. A successful, strong, respected nation hasn’t entered their tiny little minds in a very long time.
It is far easier to deal with the crazy tyrants in Iran than to watch your peers turn into monsters.
All I can say is that I‘ll pray for the ’left’. They’ve given up their God, their hearts and their souls for something they’ll never see. I can’t imagine how empty they must feel.

I don’t like this kind of person, who don’t even seem real. I’m a weeper when happy, really sad or anytime something causes deep emotions within me. Crying Privately is one thing. Normal unless part of a deeper problem like depression. Crying in public indicates that emotions are overriding logic. Crying itself does not indicate weakness, in fact it can indicate a kind of strength of character. Many cry just hearing the National Anthem, or taps etc. Crying in situations that require strength, composure and command of the situation are surely questionable. I think it‘s just part of his personality and to some it appears as weakness and to others it says he’s human and has feelings. Let’s see what the future brings. I think it’s much to do about nothing. The people who never cry worry me more.

I am opinionated but always have facts to back me up. Show me where they actually supported health care for kids. Their support ends once the kids leave the womb and wouldn‘t even be there if it wasn’t politically beneficial to them.
