The Fed Agency That Paid Out the Most in Stimulus Funds Is…

Should it come as a surprise that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) paid out $115,911,817,301 in stimulus funds, according to a recent report by Recovery.org?

The HHS’s biggest expenditure was $85,958,496,780 in state grants for Medicaid, reports the Washington Examiner’s Charlie Spiering. Other expenditures included multiple grants for income security, social services, and “research.”

The Fed Agency That Paid out the Most in Stimulus Funds Is...Coming in at second place for most “funds paid out” is the Department of Education, which spent $89,676,414,497. Third place goes to the Department of Labor, which spent $65,585,961,509.

The total of “funds paid out” by all federal agencies is $438,201,965,251.

Now if the HHS is already reporting expenditures of this size, what do you suppose its balance sheet will look like after the “Affordable Care Act” kicks into high gear?

Furthermore, is it a coincidence that the three agencies that paid out the most in stimulus funds are also connected to issues (i.e. healthcare, jobs and education) that are being redefined as “rights”?

Final thought: If the “Affordable Care Act” is not repealed (or, at the very least, retooled), the HHS will likely become the largest and most expensive federal agency in the U.S.

      Why am I not surprised that Obama is turning this nation into a nation of people waiting for a check from the guberment? Putting even more people on Medicaid, Welfare, etc. How do you think he can justify creating new jobs? They’re all jobs at the welfare office. Or the IRS, in connection with “Affordable Health care”

      The Affordable Care Act is code because health care WILL be affordable for minorities and illegals.. it will be FREE for them. Everything that comes from them has an unstated agenda that is known to the admins of these programs only and probably not written anywhere. It is understood.
      I have seen so many non minority people who have been denied these new mortgages after being told they qualified. Now why would that be? I am guessing but I would bet that the lower level people do not know that this is not meant for non-minorities. And so when it goes higher they have to deny it. Just like what happened when Paulsen got all the big bank guys in a room and told them they could not leave until they signed up for stimulus money that some didn’t want.
      This is the most corrupt goverment ever.. and the most racist. But they believe it is only fair.. reparations.
      Sorry.. It wasn‘t my fault I was born to the white race and my family came from Ireland and weren’t slaver holders, etc. I have come to really dislike these people who think this way and I never felt that way before.
      His whole reason to become chief was to right the wrongs of the past. The wrongs alleged by his father etc. And that is what the 3 headed commie snake is set out to do and nothing will stop them
      ( Holder, Obama, VanJones) They are on a mission to destroy our country and take it over and pay ‘us’ back.

      The affordable care act is a prelude to the ovens quite literally.It takes alot of money to set up and keep hidden, till time is right.It won’t be as ugly, by any means ,as 60 years ago, though.They learned from there old masters well.Promises of a job as a ruse, to get us into cattle cars won’t work.They will just play dial a disease ,one you don’t have,treat you for the side effects of the medication or complications of the first.It kills you appears totally normal.You are picked up by an ambulance and kept in a freezer until disposal at the medical waste disposal unit.

      Ladies and Gentlemen I made my comment on Karen Sebellius on a political scale, not personal.She of all people ,should have known what this could and no doubt will provoke.If she didn’t truly know,when she found out the real provisions,she should have shouted it to the rooftops.She should have stood with us, not against us.
      Affordable housing act blew up due to incompetence and corruption.They did push the race card on it.For what its worth, many minorities in my area realized that and avoided the use of it.Then again I live in an area with a unique view of the racism issue.Someone mentioned the blacks,in my area most of them don’t believe in reparitions.They consider that to be the militant view more akin to the panthers.They know that the truth is every race color creed and ethinicity has at some point been a slave to another.In some cases to their own race.I’ll never forget the debate between a militant panther and a local.The locals answer was as soon as the panther won their races reparitions he would go to england [as a representative]to claim it for the whites who were sentenced here centuarys ago.He then went on to say he had more in common with the whites than he ever did them.Didn’t set well with them as you can imagine.

      Corruption abounds in all government agencies. The more money they get the more they take advantage of it, and the less the American people get for it.
      “It’s for the children” is worn out. The more we give “for the children” the less they seem to learn. The scores seem to keep going down each year, instead of going up, after all the funds they continue to get.
      We’ve all heard about the welfare scams and how so many get away with never working for their keep. Medical has a share in the scams too. I’ve heard of doctors who over bill or falsely bill for work that was never done. The other day I heard about a hospital playing the game and got caught.

      A friend worked for a dentist who over billed, and for work never done, to the VA hospital. She didn’t like being a party to the scam and finally quit her job. Seems to be a common thing, to skim off the top, but no one reports these scams because they are afraid. T

      DOD is one of the few departments authorized by the Constitution. Dept of Energy and Dept of Education are not.

      All Government Jobs are service jobs. It is does not provide a service worth having then Shut it Down.

    I have no faith in our government whatsoever. We create our own insanity and then ask the same scroundrels to get us out of it or they offer to at best. Its the same run around ever since I was old enough to understand this crazy system. Keep spending like this and we are finished. Maybe the Chinese are actually behind NDAA ever think of that? Its like you better keep it together America and protect our investment in you or else we go to War tomorrow. I believe they have us over a barrel so the politician so no problems spending more money because nothing else matters.

      The Biggest problem with this country spending like this is that there is no end in sight to it. In every great society there comes a end, I don’t see the US coming out on top this time around. We as a country are starting to wake up, but we keep hitting the snooze button and saying we will do it later. By the time everyone else wakes up and understands that the people we call our leaders have stole our land, wealth, and liberty we will already be at the wrong end of the gun.

      Do you recall the weather underground handbook ” it doesn’t take a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows”, Glenn had us read a few years back? Well according to that the way to destroy the military/ police forces in America was to first involve them in ever increasing numbers of small regional conflicts in many places, then after their moral is ruined reduce the force size to minute numbers, that is if I recall what I read back then correctly.
      One things for sure, the two things the Fed Government is supposed to do, Obama and his conspirators are not doing, defense and border security.

      CORRECT! Cut Education! We have so many willing and able local donors to address the issue of cutting education. Our District needs to cut $5 million dollars but does not want to tap into their reserve money. Instead, the require teachers to take a 1.5% pay cut and a 5 year salary freeze. Meanwhile, our District gets a lot of grants, ie federal money, and donations.

      Teachers are educated to teach. Let us do our job.

    Dept of Health & Human Services are the ones who come out to health care facilities and survey them to see if they are meeting all the regulations written for them to receive Medicare payment for services rendered. If you fail to meet a regulation, it’s called a “condition out”. They can then fine the facility (thousands) or shut them down.

      What about the expense that no one ever brings up? When I and many Americans want to reduce the cost of government, we mean we want to reduce the cost of government. How much does it cost to keep our congressional “representatives” comfortable, with their full time pay for life for part time work and sometimes only for one term? They never list what we as taxpayers are paying for all of the salaries for not just the reps, but their ever-increasing staffs? Why are they paid that salary for life? How much do we spend on their free, 100% for life, health insurance? How much do we pay for all the free and subsidized housing and transportation for them? And they don’t even need it what with most of Congress members were well off when they started out anyways and are constantly “compensated” (bribed) by special interest groups for instance the health insurance industry? Why is it that they can get with just voting themselves a raise whenever they feel like it? I want to see the numbers and see them often. I’ve never seen anyone report on the amounts and have never read it anywhere. Aren’t we entitled to see the actual cost of government listed regularly?

      Its a new form of slavery. Too bad none of the presidential candidates that are not seen as kooks or radicals have suggested ending some of these exact departments. And if someone did state clearly that we should end some of these departments the ‘Right thinking Republicans’ on this site would wail,knash their teeth and decry how they are out of touch, old, an idiot or crazy.

      It is a sad day when common sense answers are looked upon as being out of the mainstream.

      Time to wake up America. Just having a president with an ‘R’ next to their name is not going to change anything with out some radical new ideas and thinking. It is obvious that the old ideas and thinking of both parties have led us (at different spends, yes) to this point.
