The ‘Harbinger’ Part II: Author Returns to GBTV, Explains The Book’s Deeper Message

On Tuesday evening, Glenn Beck welcomed back guest Jonathan Cahn, Messianic Rabbi and author of the new, controversial book, “The Harbinger.” Yesterday, The Blaze explained the premise of the book, which posits that an ancient mystery, originating in ancient Israel, is predicting America’s future.

Cahn talked about how even the topic of interest rates and the economic collapse can be attributed to Isaiah 9:10, and explained how trying to solve problems “without God” will only lead to “another calamity.“ He also discussed the significance of the ”sabbath year“ or ”shmita,” which occurs once every seven years and is marked by all debts being forgiven.

Cahn claims that the greatest stock market crash in American history occurred on this day, marked by the Jewish calendar date of “Elul 29.”

Beck said that he doesn‘t know for certain whether there is anything to the Rabbi’s theories on shmita or harbingers, but that he believes the overarching “message” to be true.

“The book opened doors in my head,” Beck said. And both agreed, that if all was “hopeless,” God would not be delivering these harbingers as a warning sign for the people.

“We can’t maintain our blessings without God,” said Cahn. If America does not follow God “don’t expect the miles of heaven.

Beck said that one does not need to be religious, believe in God or even the prophecy to learn the important message he feels is offered in “The Harbinger.”

This is an essay published in 2008-2009 and updated in 2011 regarding Jonathan Cahn’s “Harbinger.

Rather than using fiction, this simply links the events and facts with active and verifiable links. Many have found this presentation easier to follow because it does not require the fictional aspect, but rather focuses on the the Harbingers themselves in a significantly shorter and concise manner. The essay is currently being updated to reflect recent events.

Unfortunately they do not go far enough with evidence of current events fulfilling harbingers. A common flaw in many Americans as we (yes, I too am guilty), are typically so arrogant that we see and perceive everything as being oriented around us. For instance, Cahn and Beck continually discuss the George Washington dedication, the twin towers tumbling, the cedar tree. Global events also back this Isaiah story up. For instance, right now Turkey is “begging” the USA (as leader of NATO), to LEAD with the Syria crisis and they have told Obama they stand ready to “follow” America right this minute. Israel stands ready to defend itself against Iran’s planned genocide, again awaiting America’s leadership. These examples go on and on. During WWII, America did lead the world in a horrific battle against evil. America put God first and relied on God’s guidance. If one studies WWII, by the books America should not have been victorious, but yet we were! That leadership is lacking today and is absent on the world stage. The world is and will suffer for America’s lack of leadership and yes…. God is removing his “protection” from America during this process. Is there hope, is it too late? God is continually trying to get our attention. We can turn to God at any time and gain redemption. So far, we have not. In my opinion, we have walked way out on the “plank” with sharks below. When is “Too Late”? When is “Hope Lost”? At some point, we will reach that

The only problem with that theory is that Turkey wasn’t founded on Christianity and dedicated to God, and America was. If you read the book it is that one point that links the nations of ancient Israel and modern America together. I see what you’re saying though. Some of the book was hard to swallow, however, it does present some pretty compelling evidence while making a very valid argument.

This is an interesting conversation with Mr. Cahn. Everyone should read what this guy had posted on his website two years ago, http://www.howieunveilsgodsshield.com/HUGS-Blog.html?entry=the-root-the-branch-the it was well before the Harbinger. I follow this guys website and he is months, sometimes years ahead of everyone in the mainstream media, including Beck, Rush, Hannity, Savage, all of the big wigs who hide behind corporate profits. He hides behind nothing. Great work Glenn, but your staff should have this guy on your show….

Psalm 83 is a good read for those who understand ,as most God fearing Americans do, that it is not the faithful remnant that is causing America’s difficulties, rather it is the enemy within. While the references in this Psalm are ancient, try inserting more modern enemy names like, oh let’s say “Progressives, Fabian Socialists, Marxists, etc.

Psalms 83 is actually a peripheral prophecy involving the Ezekiel 38 prophecy which declares a Russian Led Coalition will form and invade Israel in the latter and end days. The Ezekiel prophecy sets aside two distinct aspects to the Coalition, one will be governmental military forces from several countries, and the second will be non-governmental miliatary forces such as Al-Quaida-Hamas-Hezbollah-PLO etc, which are drawn into the Coalition. Psalm 83 written by King David describes the regions where these non-governmental forces come from, which today covers the terroritories primarily controlled by TERRORIST ORG, and Palestineans. But you can also assert Marxists, Socialists, Communists, and Islamists into the verses as well, their all the same SATANISTS!!

I’m not so sure that Mr. Beck is doing all that well.
Mr. Beck just announced he is downsizing, consolidating his different business interests.

Less, in this case, isn’t more; unless he’s doing it so there is more for himself.

I suggest that everyone read this book. If you are Christian you will understand the message. If you are not a Christian you may learn something that you should be aware of.

Do not let the people who scoff at the warning in this book or the ones who call it all fiction sway your decision. Read it and make up your own mind.

Noah was just tellin a story, till it rained for the 1st time, The land of Cannan was flowihg with milk n honey, just a story til God gave it to Israel, 911 was just a story of paranoid people till it happened, Usoma bin Laden was just a story that Col. Oliver North made up, till he blew up and killed allot of inocents. When you are dead, your life will be “just a story”.

Same can be said of the ancient ‘Holy’ texts — bhavad gita, torah, qu’aran, bible, Lost Book of Abraham, etc — arguable co-inky-dinks… “gotta be a REASON” — we’ll call it GOD and have FAITH. In a bas-ackwards ‘alternate reality,‘ ’render unto caesar’ is good common sense for self-preservation. Nobody wants to be ‘nailed to the cross’ lining the highways and byways for ‘failure to comply.‘ Yet that is exactly what ’good people doing nothing‘ are having done to them ’ metaphorically speaking – Where are the ‘koch bros teaparty’ ? — headed to Dallas in July?? :-)

Mr. Anthony7, you are 100% wrong.

Like it or not, I exist. I am real. I am not just a story.
Many people believe Noah lived and breathed. He is not just a story.

      A story is imagination.
Like Marshall Applewhite saying the world will end so lets all drink this poison.
Imagination like Harold Camping saying the world will end last year, something Mr. Beck was unwilling to say was false.
Like in 2003 that Iraq had weapons of Mass destruction, even as inspectors on the ground said they didn’t.. A story. imagination. something hot real.

Imagination, like the UFO stories theblaaze continues to publish.
Because they know their readership can’t tell the difference between fact and fantasy.

Jesus taught with stories and parables. The visions of the prophet’s were also frequently allegory, not a Cliff Note.

Cahn is neither prophet or Savior, but he is using a well established tradition in both faith and morality to convey the message. Pride goes before the fall and without God, all things are vanity.

The Bible itself tells the same moral stories many times with many people in many different ages.

It can do so and be right in all those places and times because the nature of man and God does not change.
