The Spiders Know: Gibbs Has Arachnid Encounter

Politico:

The eight-legged beast first appeared as MSNBC’s Chuck Todd asked if comments made by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell could affect the debate on tax cuts. As Gibbs got distracted by the arachnid, one reporter suggested that he kill it.

Appearing shocked, Gibbs whispered loudly, “Let me know if there’s a bigger one behind me.”

He then incorporated his guest’s appearance into his answer, dismissing McConnell’s comments and saying they didn’t puncture President Obama’s talks with Republicans on Tuesday.

“You totally brush it off?” Todd asked.

Gibbs replied, “Much like the spider.”

Politico also notes:

About 15 minutes later, reporters noticed the creeper crawling by Gibbs’s foot and urged him to squash it. “I think it’s the same very active spider,” Gibbs said. “Let’s just say, if my ankle’s this big tomorrow, you’ll know …”

Staring at it, Gibbs said, “Kill that spider. … Here he comes.”

The insect connection is amusing and interesting–bees, flies, spiders–I think a rodent scurried across the stage when Obama was speaking also. All these creatures can deliver venom and/or disease, so….what’s taking so long? :)

Ah, what a tangled web we weave when we CONSTANTLY try to deceive. I think the spider has more credibility than Gibbs and more personality. I hope the animal rights people go after him for harming the poor little creature. It’s fine to harm the whole country like Obama and his administration, but watch out for the spiders!

Ahem, YOU FORGOT AND KEEP FORGETTING TO MENTION THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNER MAKING $250,000 + WILL BE INCLUDED ALSO! These are the people that will be struggling, not the ones making billions!

dizzyinthedark I find it amusing that they want to raise taxes on the “rich” when we all know that the rich (Rangel and the like) have ways of getting around paying their taxes…and the rest of us will be paying their share of the taxes when the government allows them to get away with it.

right And what about the lightening strikes and fat lip? Now we “ the can say ”the insects know” OR there are lots of creepy visitors ( and tenants) in the WH
But, seriously, does this mean that those inside are not paying attention/not keeping our house clean? Something tells me the the WH staff are all just lazily walking around and eating and drinking and patting themselves on the back for pulling off such a scam on the American people (whom they hate because of our color)
We have heard reports that the WH is party central… makes you wonder… whay else is he doing behind those doors?

Funnel web spider; much nastier, last longer, more vicious point given.

People are correct in the levels of vermine coming home to the white house; flies, rats (four legged), and spiders; not to mention before the bees. And thanks for the reminder of the POTUS seal falling down, forgot about that.

What shall be the next infestation?

How about the POTUS giving a speech, and all of a sudden here comes a rampaging, chittering, howling hoard of squirrels all over the place. On live TV they will seize the podium and demand of the US equal protection for all vermin, rodents, and all such critters suffering repression of liberties under the tyrany of the administration.

Right after this will come the lions, tigers, and bears…Burp! Oh my!

So lets say you were the white house exterminator (for the BUGs people, for the bugs!!!!) and you just happened to be a staunch conservitive, would you quit your job (knowing how scarce good jobs like this are to find), or would you instead, find some small (many legged and winged) way of expressing your displeasure that an anti-American socilist/anti-colonialist was subverting your beloved nation from within? Perhaps such a person could spray sugar water instead of poisons, attracting rather that killing the bugs, as a small token of their dissappreceation for the deciever-in-chief. We just might have an ally inside the compromised white house my friends, and because of him/her the place is “bugged”, gosh I wish it were me, lol.
