‘The Swamp’: Bush Dodges Oprah’s Palin Question

NEW YORK (AP) — The world will soon be hearing a lot from former President George W. Bush.

After relative silence since leaving office in 2009, Bush will be on the air throughout next week and beyond in promotion of his memoir, “Decision Points,” which comes out Tuesday. Along with previously announced TV appearances with Matt Lauer and with Oprah Winfrey, Bush will speak with Jay Leno on the “Tonight” show, have radio interviews on the programs of conservative commentators Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and make several TV appearances on the Fox News Channel, the hosts including Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Greta Van Susteran.

The schedule was announced Saturday by spokesman David Drake of Crown Publishers, an imprint of Random House, Inc.

Bush will also meet with Candy Crowley on CNN and appear on “CBS Sunday Morning” with Jim Axelrod. Besides his taped interview with Lauer airing on NBC on Monday night, Bush will speak live with Lauer on the “Today” show on Wednesday morning. Among his print interviews: a cover story for the magazine of AARP, which represents millions of people 50 and older.

The 64-year-old former president will not be out there alone. His parents, former President George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush, also will appear on Winfrey’s show. His wife, former first lady Laura Bush, will join him on “CBS This Morning.” Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, will be with his brother on CNN.

Bush’s book tour was organized by Drake; the former president’s literary representative, Washington attorney Robert Barnett; former White House press secretary Dana Perino; and Bush spokesman David Sherzer.

I don’t know about that Reserve bank business because all the Presidents have cow-towed to the Fed. It was set up to take us to “one world order” by Roosevelt I believe. As for Bush being a crook, I don’t believe that he was attempting to destroy but I do believe that with TARP, prescription drugs, and immigration he made bad choices. Nevertheless, when it comes to class, he’s got it and I admire him for it.

Jezreel— Unlike obama, Bush welcomed any inquiries and today it has been proven all the charges from the obamapelosi left are false. From the “Torture (water toss) BS that pelosi knew of all along,, to everything else. They had all the power int he world to bring it on, and they just talked.
obama is a crook in every way. Billions in “Carbon exchange” shares, and a disdain for the U.S. Constitution.

Just remember – they are alynski radicals using the alinsky “whoever smelt it dealt it” camouflage tactic. Everything they accuse another of– They are guilty (or about to be) guilty of. This is nothing but a lame tactic to pretend an innocence by focusing attention away–

Never loved him, but I respect him. He had a tough job after 911 and did his best to keep us safe from more attacks.

His spending got out of control, above the cost of fighting a war.

And I cringed every time I heard him give a speech. Unless he was just talking he sounded like a fool.

But, obama without his teleprompter is far worse.

The dignity of 43 shows up everytime he speaks. Easy for so many to sit and “blame Bush’ and say he started it all instead of honoring a man who so dearly loved this country and the men and women who serve this country – and yes – shed tears. He always did what he thought was best for this country and for that I truly honor him because when you love as deeply as he did you don’t have anything else in mind. I wish all who are so quick to say “Bush did it” to get off your duff – run for President – win and then get it all changed – then I would be happy to hear them out. Criticizing him only adds to the garbage barrie spews out. God Bless him and his family.

Thank GOD,President Bush! You stumbled sometimes, but we knew you were first and foremost honorable. I understand why you held back-commendable to respect and not criticize those within this office of tremendous pressure and decision making. Perhaps, now you are observing that this president is not American oriented, but ideologically driven. He speaks the words of caring to the people, but they ring with a clang, not with the true tone of liberty. Thank you, again, President Bush.

Whatever shortcomings George Bush has he is a GOOD MAN and is not a phony like his successor.
Obama has blamed Bush for everything and , consequently, done nothing since he has an excuse he thought he could milk for 4 years. Obama has ridden the path of least resistance all his life and the only experience he has is training ACORN people with Rules For Radicals and running for office in Illinois under the corrupt democrats with no opponents. Illinois is dieing and the new Democrats Governor, Quinn, announces after his victory he will raise taxes! This serve the fools in Illinois right for voting for democrats.

For those of you that blame Bush for everything, you might want to remember that Clinton was handed BinLaden on a platter and passed on him. You might also want to do a little research on how our government works. The President can only sign bills, he does not write nor pass them through the House and Senate so when you blame someone for the economy, you might want to start with Congress and the “oversight” committees and agencies that were supposed to be protecting the citizens. If they had been doing their jobs, most of the economic crisis would have been avoided.

How refreshing to see at least ONE president who is respectable, honorable, self contained, and knows when to keep his mouth shut about things. The office of the presidency has been severly diminished by Obama. Can’t wait till 2012 to see if we can pick someone that will restore the honor to the office. When the head of your country acts like a common hoodlum, interviewing with lowly talk show hosts, and gets called “dude”, that reflects on the rest of us, and brings down the entire institution.

Clinton was/is the same way. He still spouts his mouth off. He had disgraced the White House, the American people, and the United States. For some reason, there progressives are wildly talkative and feel no shame in what they do………… But, its the agenda isn’t it. Push and do everything one can for the advancement or progressivism. (real name is communism) Don’t stop, twist everything, lie, deceive, blame the other guy (party)……

Bush was a good president. He has honor and integrity. He spoke to us as a leader of a country wanting the country to better itself.

The so called president we have in office now and for that matter, even Clinton, were/are so destructive to the American ways and values that I personally never ever want to see another liberal, progressive, democrat or anyone except a man of honor in the WH.

Bush had nothing to do with the mortgage crisis other than to try to make congress fix it 5 years before the crash(remember Barney Frank said Bush was nuts because there was no problem with Fannie & Freddie). The budget Obama received was that of nancy & the dems. Bush’s deficit went down each year until 2007 when the Dems took over.

As far as the worst economy since the great depression… In 1929 people stood in lines for bread, in 2009, they stood in lines for Apple Iphones.

Sorry, Pony, gotta call you on this one too. My whole life crashed with Fannie and Freddie so I can tell you unequivocally who was to blame – the dems, Barney being at the front of the line. In fact, I would love to see class action suits brought against that oversight committee as they come out of office, starting with Chris Dodd, for looking out for their buddies (huge bonus’) and not the American people. They came into office worth a fair amount and come out of office millionaires thanks to their lobbyist buddies. Maybe a class action suit would send the message that “we expect them to be honest and do what’s right, not line their pockets. And if you don’t, expect to get out your piggy bank ’cause I’m still p.o.’d”.

President Bush got hammered by the media while the media has this love affair going on with Obummer. Obummer packs teleprompters wherever he goes, and Bush spoke from his heart. He didn’t always express himself very well and the media hammered him. All in all, I give Bush a way better grade for his Presidency over Obummers. Maybe if we had had the Tea Parties during Bush’s last four years, history would see them differently. With a dem congress pulling the purse strings and no conservative push-back I wonder if his decisions really reflect his core values (would love to ask him). There were things he wanted to do (oversight of Fannie and Freddie) that were blocked, so it begs to wonder what else the dems did to prevent him from leading. I look forward to his book, especially after reading Karl Rove’s book.
