A protester attacked a Syrian TV reporter with a shoe during a live shot on Saturday, yelling “the Syrian media is full of lies” as he did so.
In a clip posted by the Middle East Media Research Institute, correspondent Shadi Helwah was reporting from the Syrian city of Aleppo and accusing other outlets of playing up the severity of conditions on the ground.
“The fabrications of the TV channels that spread civil strife have become clear, especially the incitement against Aleppo in the past three days,” Helwah said according to MEMRI’s translation. “Everybody knows that there are constant unsuccessful attempts to silence the opinion of the citizen — ”
The clip shows him suddenly being interrupted and attacked by a passerby with a shoe.
“The Syrian media is full of lies!” the man yells.
A crew member apparently tries to intervene, shouting “F–k you, you son of a b-tch!”
The broadcast cuts back to the studio, where an anchor apologizes for the interruption and gives his take on what transpired — that such a display is an “example of the democracy” that many are demanding for Syria.
Via MEMRI:
Male anchor in the studio: Dear viewers, that was our Shadi Helwah, reporting from Aleppo. What we just saw is an example of the democracy that many, home and abroad, are demanding. Let’s return to Shadi Helwah. Shadi?
Shadi Helwah: Osama, Osama, Osama, it’s not enough that they have their own TV channels, their fabrications, and all the TV channels that incite against Syria, they had to come to us as well. No problem. They came here, and said what they said, but if the Syrian media is really full of lies, then just leave us alone, and let us broadcast what we want, and the public will judge whether we are lying or not.
Studio anchor: By the way, Shadi, a liar is always… Do you hear me? I believe that if someone is lying, you should let him go on lying, and he will lie and lie until he eventually exposes himself. This only proves how reliable the Syrian media is.
Reporters Without Borders ranks Syria among the worst countries for press freedom, including for censorship and government manipulation.

I believe this reporter. The other outlets would be our version of MSNBC, CNN, etc all leftist agenda driven media. The NWO wants Assad out and the Muslim Brotherhood/Islamo-fascists in. Like Glenn said marxists/socialists/communists/radical islamists will work together to destroy the Western way of life, America, and Israel.

Posted on June 4, 2012 at 5:38amThe RT (Russian Television) reporters are saying the same kind of nonsense and propaganda as the Syrian reporter. You guys think our media is bad? Well, you’re right, they are. But RT really takes the cake for propaganda and more lies than there are flies.

Posted on June 3, 2012 at 4:41pmThe shoe throwing business is a cultural effect. The shoe thrower in the G.W.Bush event was dismissed by the media. Now the media is getting sole. A few months ago the CBS reporter covering the Egyptian Democracy Movement was not ‘loved,’ by the crowd. The network pretended it didn’t happen.

Posted on June 3, 2012 at 4:16pmThe fact that Syrian media outlets have biases is none of America’s concern. In my opinion, this piece is more agitprop designed to get Americans soldiers to fight somebody else’s battle.
America perhaps has its very own bias problems with the media. Here is a proposed solution to the perceived problem. Jews constitute 2% of the population, but own/control nearly 100% of the media. Being a generous country, they should be able to own and control 500% of what their numbers warrant, or 10% of our future media. Anything beyond 10% should be appropriated by the state and be sold at auction, with the proceeds being donated to the children of fallen veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Even Semitic people need to pay their fair share, after all.
DNA Testing can verify that the ancestry of our future media owners matches the DNA of the American people. You know, in the name of equality. All of this should be proceeded, of course, by an honest debate about media ownership and a political referendum.

Posted on June 4, 2012 at 9:35amJaycen … since WHEN are Jews a ‘race?’ That would be like saying Christian race. Judaism is a religion. And, as such, it has it’s dogma and mandates to follow. Have you ever looked into the ‘Talmud?’ You know, that little book written by ‘Rabbi’s’ that supersedes the Torah (old testament bible.) There are two types of ‘Jew.’ Orthodox which does not follow nor believe in the Talmud and then the ones that do. The ones that do are running Israel and other countries at the moment. The orthodox are being oppressed in Israel and are fighting against Israel here in America and other countries. There are 25K Jews in Iran with no problem. I don’t know how many Christians are in Syria right now but if Assad goes down, they will be massacred. Think about that for a few.

So the “democracy” that they want that is you can attack anyone on the street you disagree with. Sounds about right.

Posted on June 4, 2012 at 2:19amNow this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor: and this was a testimony in Israel.
(This is the way it used to be in Israel concerning buying back property and exchanging goods: In order to make every matter legal, a man would take off his sandal and give it to the other man. This was the way a contract was publicly approved in Israel.)
BTW: Do you know who Ruth’s mother-in-law was? Rahab the Harlot from the book of Joshua.
