The Tea Party Goes Global

As the tea party continues to make waves in political races across America, the movement’s lower taxes/smaller government message is going global.  According to reports out of Australia, an Aussie tea party has set up shop down under.

The Australian T.E.A. Party — utilizing the “Taxed Enough Already” acronym many Americans have embraced over the last year — considers itself an arm of “a worldwide movement, united for free markets, fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited small governments and individual freedom.”

The group boasts links to “our friends” in the United States, celebrating tea party-backed Christine O‘Donnell’s recent victory in the Delaware GOP Senate primary.  Spokesman David Goodridge says the Australian grassroots group has no plans to register as an official political party and refuses to accept career politicians as members.  ”We’ve been around for a little while, but we made a conscious decision not to involve ourselves in the last election — we’re not a political party, we are a political movement,” he says.  ”We influence parties that already exist.”

While there is no official link to their American brethren, Goodridge says the Australian movement hopes to “update and adapt” U.S. grassroots training tools for its own purposes.

The group’s website hails the historical Boston Tea Party as “a part of American history,“ but notes a sentiment that is ”universal.”

“What should be the role of the government in the economy, what should be the role of government in people’s lives and do you believe that you can spend your money better than government?”The Tea Party Goes Global

For tea party patriots down under, one of the big issues drawing people to the tea party movement is local government’s proposals to require paid permits for the keeping of all animals, including farm livestock.  Residents are circulating petitions and staging protests to let elected officials know how they feel.

As for the future of newborn movement, Goodridge says their goal is to make an impact on the country’s politics at all levels.

“We will look to involve ourselves in pre-selections when they come around …we will target local, state and federal pre-selections.”

How amazing that the masses clear around the world get what the tea party movement is all about it yet right here in our own country it is a “JOKE” to the ruling class…GOOD, the more they insult us and talk down to us Homer Simpsons with their arrogant attitude the larger and more unified we become. Stay strong people! The fight is just starting. We need to be and act professional. We need to stay in the news always with a positive message!

Yet more proof that America is still a shining city on a hill for the the rest of the world. God Bless America. I hope freedom, personal responsibility, smaller government, and less taxes are central to the legacy we leave the rest of the world. No country is perfect. But you will excuse this patriot for still believing that America has embodied the best of human ideals.
Michael Moore, Obama and the left apologize for America. They celebrate the negative part of our history. I can’t blame them; they must have read the re-written history books that portray Americans as a greedy colonial power that has raped the resources of the rest of the world and polluted it for profit. Our kids don’t read about the wise words and measured speech of the founders of our country. They relied on the power of vigorous intellectual debate, not the empty smears and emotional rants that pass for political discourse in our day.
These leftist supporters should live a few years among the people of Cuba enjoying the “utopia” of communist success. Even the most ardent supporters of communism would probably end up on a house boat trying desperately to get back to America. They would discover what the rest of the world has always known. America is the land of freedom and opportunity.
Vote to preserve our great nation in November.

You’re right, I read today for the 1st time George Washington’s Farewell Address from 1796.
He was a great father to the nation, leaving warnings and recommendations that now read like a kind of how to fix it guide.

“It will be worthy of a free, enlightened, and, at no distant
period, a great nation, to give to mankind the
magnanimous and too novel example of a people
always guided by an exalted justice and benevolence.”
