‘The Three Little Pigs Revisited’: New Version With Recycled Houses and ‘Miscommunication’

Remember the childhood story “The Three Little Pigs”? Complete with animals, action, and some life lessons about not taking the easiest route, the tale has become a classic. And despite variations over the years, the core story remains the same. Until now.

A new version of the story is now popping up in the classroom as part of the the fourth grade reading textbook Storytown: Winning Catch 4. In that book’s version, the wolf has a sudden heart attack while trying to blow down the third little pig’s adobe house. The three little pigs rush to his aid, save him, and while trying to flee from him once recovered, realize that the whole “huff and puff and blow your house down” thing was a simple “lack of communication”: the wolf actually wanted to move in with the pigs and was testing each abode’s structural security.

The story is complete with housing shortages and houses made of recycled newspaper and aluminum. An electronic version can be viewed here by picking theme two, lesson eight.

One reader, however, sent The Blaze a two-page excerpt from the updated version, which is being used in at least one school in Shelby county, Alabama:

The Three Little Pigs Revisited: New Version With Recycled Houses and Miscommunication

The Three Little Pigs Revisited: New Version With Recycled Houses and Miscommunication

This isn’t the first time the pigs have faced scrutiny. In 2008, another version of “The Three Little Pigs” came under fire for not being politically correct. Then, a British educational system award panel turned down a new version of the story called “The Three Little Cowboy Builders” because it was offensive to Muslims, Asians, and builders.

“Is it true that all builders are cowboys, builders get their work blown down, and builders are like pigs?” a panel of judges asked.

Certain kinds of animals cannot live together. The natural behavior the wolves will lead them to maul little sheep or these poor little pigs, sooner or later. The original story teaches kids to understand that there are beasts out there and they cannot be trusted. It’s wrong to politicize the kid world and poison their minds with ideologies.

    Face it folks
When it comes to public school systems,
Your kids are not your own,
Your country is not your own,
    Your values are not theirs.
Your children spend more time, (awake), with these people than they do you.
    So whose children are they?

My kids were schooled at home about what types of people they would meet in their lives. Teachers were at the top of the list(my wife is a teacher) of people that they had to be leery of. They are both good readers of people and for the most part have good friends.Good Schooling begins at home.

Not for long sailor, they have in the wings home schooling elimination… you don’t know haw to raise your child that is clear…Did you teach your child about global warming did your child get proper sex-education at age 7.. I bet not…I tell you what how about this…. you can home school your child as long as they use this skype program and govt. sanctioned online schooling material. Also a social worker will have to visit your home once a week?? If your house is not up to the code your children will have to go to public school…

How would you like that…it’s in the works…

Anyone who home schools should join HSLDA.org (home school legal defense association). They defend home schoolers grandly, consistently, for a small legal-insurance fee. They are really good. I don’t think those regulations that you suggest will take hold, though I know that they are often suggested. People need to choose alternative types of education for their children, so that the kids will learn the parents’ values. The small local schools were good because they were right near the homes and small enough for parents to approach. The unionization of schools was their downfall. Home schooling is producing a good product.

Perversion? Distortion? Lies? YES TO ALL!!! This is just another way for the liberal trash to indoctrinate our children into numb-nut thinking!!! The wolf will work his way into their home and utilize their charity till the little piggies get fed up with the lazy bum. As soon as they get tired of feeding the dirty begger he will take offense to it and the fight will ensue, next thing you know, the now FAT WOLF will have eaten them and possess all their property.

The story should go along came “Ol’ MacDonald” Shot the wolf (had it skinned and stuffed) and rounded up the pigs, delivered them to the slaughter house, and made a bundle to maintain his farm. THat my friend is the american way. God Bless America.
