The Video That Shows an NHL Hockey Player Flipping Off the Crowd Glove Getting ‘Stuck’

When you score a goal in a playoff hockey game, you’re not supposed to turn to the opposing fans and flip them the bird. And despite video that seems to show Boston Bruins player Andrew Ference doing just that, he’s defending himself with an odd claim: his glove got stuck.

Here’s how he defended the gesture to ESPN.com:

“It looks awful; I just saw it,” he said of the replay. “I can assure you that’s not part of my repertoire. I think my glove got caught up. I can assure you that’s not part of who I am or what I ever have been. It looks awful. I admit it and I completely apologize to how it looks. I was putting my fist in the air. I’m sorry. It does look awful. I don’t know what else to say.”

Here’s the video. You decided. And if you come down on the side of he’s flipping you off, then here’s your CONTENT WARNING for an obscene gesture. But if you agree that his glove got stuck, then enjoy the wardrobe malfunction:

This guy has been asociated with “right to play” where he went to Africa to help kids get exposed to hockey. I wonder if he taught him this move too.

I shoot the puck around from time to time and I suppose I could see how it COULD happen, I doubt it was an oops though. There is bad blood between those two teams. Hockey is a tough sport and kinda ruthless, its not a surprise to see this. I say oh well, if your a hockey fan you know how it can be!

Which should receive the harsher punishment?

I think it’s actually kind of funny. Think about it, this gesture is a perfect reflection of ‘Generation Me.’ We (socially) have bred this behavior into our youth and then we’re surprised when they grow up and act like this.

The only way to prevent this from happening again is for the NHL to take extreme measures and make an example of this player. If I did this to my customers where I work, I would be fired. Just saying…

I’ve watched and played a lot of hocky in my day and never saw any player have a “glove malfunction” like that one. Gotta admit, it is a creative and original excuse.

I play hockey, and hockey gloves are very thick and padded on the backside and very thin on the palm. The seams between the fingers have to stick out a little, otherwise there would be no way to attach the thin leather palm to the thick foam padding. Your hands fit rather loosely in the gloves, too. I believe him. He brought his hand down quite quickly which suggests he realized just a little too late what was happening.

Yeah, I agree with Al J Zira on this one…… I too played hockey for years. Let me tell those guys have the best equipment that even if we had the money it wouldn’t be available to guys like us! So, they can move their fingers or shall I say “finger” really easy with the pro level equipment they use. That was a full blown “one finger solute” to the crowd and he got caught on tape.

The guy plays hockey and you expect sane, rational, civilized behavior from him?? What are you on drugs??? This is a “sport” the players had to be ordered to wear helmets and face protection. They carry sticks and shoot really hard pieces of frozen rubber at each other and sometimes at a net. The game originated in Canada for goodness sakes. How much more needs be said?? Leave the poor dain-bramaged fool alone.

The finger came UP. It wasn’t just higher than the others; it came up.

Here’s an interesting article from The Shark Tank:

by Roger Stone, The Stone Stone

The huge South Florida Tea Party rally last Saturday with Donald Trump and Congressman Allen West has electrified the Tea Party Movement for a Trump-West Ticket. West wouldn’t rule it out if the phone rang, according to an early post written at the Daily Caller- Read the post HERE. The Tax Day Rally was heavy with Trump- West signs, some homemade and some pre-printed, but they all touted the Manhattan billionaire and the no-nonsense Congressman and ArmyVet to turn America around! At the same event, Trump reiterated to the Shark Tank that he would run as a Republican, and that he was, “Conservative, very conservative.” Those two are important prerequisites to any Conservative Republican like Congressman Allen West were he to consider a VP appointment by Trump or any other Presidential candidate for that matter. Internet chatter is strong among conservatives for a outsider Trump-West ticket, however only time will tell if this possibility comes to pass.
