‘There Is No Truth Except Allah’: Colorado Student Quits High School Choir Over Islamic Song

Mesa County School District in Colorado | Student Quits High School Choir Over Islamic Song Praising AllahA Colorado high school student quit the school choir after an Islamic song containing the lyric “there is no other truth except Allah” found its way into the chorus.

James Harper, a senior at Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction, put his objection to singing “Zikr,” a song written by Indian composer A.R. Rahman, in an email to Mesa County School District 51 officials.

“I don’t want to come across as a bigot or a racist, but I really don’t feel it is appropriate for students in a public high school to be singing an Islamic worship song,” Harper told KREX-TV. “This is worshipping another God, and even worshipping another prophet … I think there would be a lot of outrage if we made a Muslim choir say Jesus Christ is the only truth.”

Below is the Islamic song in its entirety:

But district spokesman Jeff Kirtland defended the decision to include the Islamic song:

“Choral music is often devoted to religious themes. … This is not a case where the school is endorsing or promoting any particular religion or other non-educational agenda. The song was chosen because its rhythms and other qualities would provide an opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition, not because of its religious message or lyrics,” Kirtland told FoxNews in an email. He added that the choir “is a voluntary, after-school activity.”

“Students are not required to participate, and receive no academic credit for doing so,” he said.

Fox reports that an upcoming concert held by the choir is slated to include an Irish folk song and an Christian song titled “Prayer of the Children,” in addition to the song by Rahman.

Fox adds:

“The teacher consulted with students and asked each of them to review an online performance of the selection with their parents before making the decision to perform the piece,” Kirtland said, and members who object to the religious content of musical selections aren’t required to sing them.

Rahman, who has sold hundreds of millions of records and is well-known in his homeland, has said the song is not intended for a worship ceremony. He told FoxNews.com in a written statement that the song, composed for the move “Bose, the Forgotten Hero,“ is about ”self-healing and spirituality.”

“It is unfortunate that the student in Colorado misinterpreted the intention of the song,” Rahman said. “I have long celebrated the commonalities of humanity and try to share and receive things in this way. While I respect his decision for opting out, this incident is an example of why we need further cultural education through music.”

The song is written in Urdu and two of the verses translate to: “There is no truth except Allah” and “Allah is the only eternal and immortal.” According to Fox, the choir sang the original version and Wieland distributed translated lyrics.

So this week, we hear of a young boy reading his Bible at recess, and had it confiscated. NOW we have a school promoting islamic songs of praise under the guise of musical contribution.
And if the Christians were to unite and express outrage and demand the assault on their religeous freedoms be stopped, they’d be called intolerant bigots.

Do they know what is happening in the name of Allah and this perverted religion; in this very moment Christian families are being assassinated!!! I am amazed of their level of ignorance. @JMC
I would consider myself a big Glenn Beck fan, I am a staunch conservative, and a evangelical devout Christian. I cannot fault the school. They include a Christian Song, though Prayer of the Children probably doesn’t include the lyrics Jesus is LORD, to counter balance Allah is truth, but they did do right in having the kids discuss it with their parents. Now the student that is choosing to not perform this song I can’t fault either. He is taking a stand and I applaud him for that.
If we are to be a country truly founded on Judeo-Christian principles, then respect for other beliefs is fundamental. We can appreciate the performance and artistry of another religion’s music with out agreeing to the tenants of that faith. I don’t personally agree with Mormonism, but the Halleluia (spelling) Chorus by The MTC is amazing.
Don’t go accusing me of being a dupe, or asleep, or all the other crap zealots like to throw out. I am as non-PC as anyone. But I sadly have to agree with JMC that the degree of narrow mindedness on this subject gives all conservatives a bad name and boarders on proving the bigot case the left likes to make about conservatives.
Like my momma used to say; Bigoted is as bigoted does. Thats all I got to say about that.

All the Islamic head chopping, honor killing, and suicide vest wearing isn’t the issue here because this is America. The issue is music, art and the ability to appreciate. If we conservatives can’t tolerate a Choral group singing a Christian song along side a Muslim song, then we could possibly be as intolerant as we are accused of being. How does this differentiate us from the Islamo-nuts around the world? Tolerance for only one religion is what happens in Islamic countries, not America. Hating the music of a different religion and not allowing it to be heard is what happens in Islamic countries, not in America. Teaching kids to hate anything having to do with another’s religion is what happens in Islamic countries, not in America.
Or is this not still America?

JMCCLENA, this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian values, not Islam/Sharia or Secularism. We celebrated those values in our schools way back when America was still America. We said “Under God”, sang religious hemns, put on religious plays, and called it “Christmas”. We didn’t say Allah Akbar and sit bobbing, cross-legged chanting the Koran. No hypocracy here….just returning to our foundational principals, and they aren’t Sharia.

Or if I may compare God unto a bright white light, then unto that people over there he may appear through the spectrum as green, and to that group over there as purple or red, and yet even to that side of the earth over there as yellow or orange. That‘s because people’s minds absorb the light differently just as different materials in the world absorb different spectrum’s from the sun. It’s called how the light is divided. Too bad people are so stubborn.

@ CAPTAIN CRUNCH- According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Islam is the world’s fastest-growing religion by number of conversions each year: Although the religion began in Arabia, by 2002 80% of all believers in Islam lived outside the Arab world. In the period 1990-2000, approximately 12.5 million more people converted to Islam than to Christianity. This was again shown in the 2005, 50th anniversary of Guinness Book of World Records, although the number of conversions was not mentioned this time.

In 1990, 935 million people were Muslims and this figure had risen to around 1.2 billion by the year 2000, meaning that around this time one in five people were followers of Islam. According to the BBC, a comprehensive American study concluded in 2009 the number stood at 1 in 4 with 60% of Muslims spread all over the Asian continent: A report from an American think-tank has estimated 1.57 billion Muslims populate the world – with 60% in Asia. The report was done by the Pew Forum Research Centre. The forum also projected that in 2010 out of the total number of Muslims in the world 62.1% will live in Asia.

And hasn’t anyone ever notice how in the Holy Bible as God is giving his Commandments to Moses how they seem to change ever so slightly each time? God varying the Commandments to Moses ears, and Moses varying the Commandments to the children of Israel adjusted to accommodate the hardness of their hearts?

      Come on people!!!!
How can we argue for Christ/prayer/nativity scenes in our schools and public places, and then demand that another religion be excluded. That is not Christian, its not American, its not the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. If we were being consistent here we would be applauding the Christian and Muslim songs and demanding that a Jewish song be included as well.
The hate spewing out here is counterproductive.
The hatred for radical Islam shown here may be justified, but you all risk playing into the hands of the left with the intolerance for a song to be sung. Is all of your faith in Christ, and that of your children, so weak that it can’t take listening to a song?
One caveat. My faith would preclude me from singing the words “There is no truth but allah.” Then, to the best of my conscious, I would sing my very best and give the Glory to my God.

And firstly God spoke to all the children of Israel directly one time giving them all the Commandments, and then after the which God called Moses up individually to give the Commandments again, and yet even again? This was also unto the thing God showed Moses when he had him put his hand to his breast and it turned white, and yet again like his own flesh, and yet if God would have spoken yet again to all the children of Israel they all would have died, and therefore the Lord called up Moses individually thereafter.

Hey, Jmcclena, I’m a “beckbot” and I don’t have a problem with them singing an Islamic song. I have some serious issues with these exact lyrics though, and I would have the same problem if this was for another religion as well (schools need to avoid potentially offensive things like this in my opinion – they need to seem totally neutral. Another Islamic song without the lyrics regarding allah being the only truth and I’d be totally fine. The Christian song mentioned needs to be the same way.). The school officials gave a plausible answer – the musical style is totally different and it does make sense to include it if the choir wants to learn as much as possible.

“let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, …. for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” -Acts 4, Holy Bible

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. … Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near – at the doors!” -Matthew 24, Holy Bible

@SURHANSURHAN How many of those new muslim recruits were virgins soo desperate to get laid that they were willling to murder to get some (heavenly virgins)? How many are males looking to get more control over women? How many did so out of fear of being cast out or beheaded as an infidel non-believer?

The fact is most of us are of the belief that Islam is an anti Christian religion. Christianity known as the religion of forgiveness and Islam the opposite. Be it out of ignorance or not, how else can that line in the song expected to be interpreted as anything but offensive. Discussion about such may belong in the education system, but not expression as part of a school sponsored extracurricular activity. What’s the point in expressing something to the masses that you know is going to be misinterpreted by the majority. Who’s the audience here? Who’s doing the interpreting and why?

Defining the truth as Allah when Allah, at this point in time, is known as the bringer of evil. What is messed up about that??? I surely don’t want anything to do with that!

The right to free speech and freedom of religion should be exalted, even when it flys in the face of Judeo Christian values. i dont care if they express thier religion at all. If they break the law, then we deal with them just as we would if a Christian broke the law.

Either you believe in the Constitution or you dont. Just becuase something offends you does not make it illegal. That is what the LIBERAL have made you believe. I say let them sing the song and if anyone does not want to participate they do not have to.

IMO – I believe this to be yet another indirect, albeit purposeful attempt to soften us and tear down our resistance to the Muslim faith, in the disguise of being an “opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition…” Sounds like a very weak defense. How many other songs, not praising Allah and/or the Muslim faith, were there to choose from that could have just as easily shown off the musical talents of these kids?

The “Christian” song they chose doesn’t include the words “Jesus is the Truth, the Way and the Light” I’d lay odds. It’s probably some wishy washy song that barely mentions God. I would refuse to sing a song about Allah being the ONLY TRUTH, but a Muslim song that was sanitized as well as they sanitize Christian songs for public school wouldn’t insult me. It’s the double standard that gets our knickers in a knot. The kid was right, they would never in a million years ask or even suggest that a Muslim sing Jesus is the only Truth. Jehovah Witnesses don’t celebrate birthdays or Christmas, and they usually don’t get exempted from participating.

We read books aloud and took the laughter when other kids made fun of our word pronunciation
We learned how to cut a piece of wood, and not our fingers, on tools called; table saws and band saws
We were told we could be president of the United States of America if we worked hard and learned something
We turned wrenches on cars we knew would never run a NASCAR race
We played music in a hall and on a field, and made music in the back seats of VW bugs, Oldsmobile 442s, white, rust bucket, 58 Ford pickup trucks, and the janitor’s closet
We screamed obscenities at the opposing school at all sports events
We made fun of girls with big boobs, guys with pimples, and bookworms, but respected the Latin teacher because she was hot
We had cliques and friends in cliques who always sat at the same tables in the cafeteria
We laughed at dirty jokes and cried when a kid died of a heart attack on the track field

Then we grew up, and are being told America sucks by a president that was given it all on a silver platter

JMCCLENA…no anti-Beck bias there, eh? Calling your ideological opponents derisive names. Really? Now is that necessary? I have a rule — those indulging in name calling and other ad homs automatically lose the debate.

Having said that, your post makes the “Beckbot” point. The outrage of conservatives, Christian or no, is precisely because freedom of expression and worship has been so resoundingly prohibited in so many other “voluntary, after-school ” activities for so very long — you know, activities in which “Students are not required to participate, and receive no academic credit for doing so” when that religious expression is Christian — for well over 30 years!! The hypocrisy of those with an anti-Christian bias is obvious to everyone except those possessing said bias.

I watched the video. Watching the Jinjaweed galloping through the desert, probably on their way to their next appointment to annihilate another hapless Sudanese village gave me the shivers. The whole video seemed a message of “Islamic Supremacy” came through loud and clear when the world was depicted as being engulfed in torrential flames.

In the interest of “multi-cultural” curiosity and exploration, perhaps school choirs might also sing some cute songs that were popular with the Hitler youth, no?

Wow peopel you are going insane over nothing. So you are saying that choir’s should only sing American music… or is it just Christian music? They were singing a Christian song with the performance, they had the students with their parents listen to the song and decide if they wanted to sing it. They are not forcing anyone in the choir to sing it. What more could they do? You people need to get off your rear-ends and open your patetic bigoted eyes. Most of the time I agree with the comments here but it is stories like these that make me ashamed of the conservative movements followers. I am proud of the boy for choosing to follow what he believes but that does not mean all the other kids WHO CHOSE TO SING THE SONG are bad. So you are saying that we should take their choice away? That freedom should only exist when you agree with it? That you know better than the students and parents performing it? That is the liberal menality. Yes, some schools do not allow Christian music to be sung but not all but obviously not that one. The high school close to me (Dacula High School) always sings Christian songs. I go to many of their concerts. They also sing African worship songs as well as a wide variety of music. Stop being so ignorant. And if you disagree with me, tell me why with facts, not the BS most are spouting. Don’t be a liberal.

This is a major clash of culture and religion. We who have been raised in this country which until now had religious freedom (Until Obama has attacked the Catholic Church), find it hard to understand there is a religion that believes you are Islam or you are dead or a slave. Read the Koran it is all there then speak on the issue If we do not wake up we shall have no country and will have to die for your religious beliefs.

      @Thecid

“Where is the ACLU? Separation of Church and State, right?”

As different faiths and backgrounds are being presented (an Irish folk song and a Christian song), one particular faith is not being endorsed; likely the ACLU realizes this and acknowledges that there is no breach of the first amendment.

I agree with @Maccow and @baddoggy here. If you’re one of the people calling for this song to be thrown out, you have no ground to stand on in promoting religious inclusion in schools. Either you stand for the Constitution and accept that all faiths have their own right to be displayed… or none of them should be displayed. Saying only Christianity should be seen and heard in a public institution is an obvious violation of the first amendment.

The kid was well in his rights to quit and I don‘t think he’s a bigot, but it’s small-minded of him (as it’s small-minded of all the people here railing against an Islamic song while remaining mum about the Christian one). Then again we expect that with kids; adults can and should be called on it.

As for those going “Muslims are going to kill us all if you let a song about Allah be sung!”, I echo baddoggy’s sentiment. It‘s honestly the best thing I’ve read out of the comments here:
“If they break the law, then we deal with them just as we would if a Christian broke the law.”

“…this incident is an example of why we need further cultural education through music.”–Rahman

Recently I spoke with a bright young Ivy League grad about History and the Islamic religion. She must have had the musical version of cultural education.
She did not know that Mohammed lived 600 years after Jesus.
She did not know that he claimed it was the angel Gabriel who was bringing him Allah’s orders.
She did not know that he was a military leader busily taking over the world as he knew it, he himself killing countless “unbelievers.”
      These are historical facts.
Why do we not teach the fascinating facts Mohammed’s life. Now THAT is education!
How about reading the Koran in chronological order (not the order in which it is printed) and matching historical events to verses written about the same time– to illustrate how the Koran sombers into violence. THAT is education.
How about simply reading the Koran (it’s a short book) to dispel the widespread misconception that the violence associated with Islam comes from later Islamic movements. THAT would be education!

An Indian composer writing an Arab-flavored high school choral song; a chorale director insisting that Islam and Christianity are just kind of equal but separate is called cultural manipulation, not education.

@JMC, I guess the Blaze deleted my reply to this guy stating that the difference between the Muslim song and a Christian song was that Christians are not decapitating innocent people and murdering women and children in the name of a so called peaceful God. And that Christians feed the poor and provide medical and financial help to those in need regardless of their God. I guess the mercy killings happening in our own Country by these Muslims is not a factor in regards to the difference between the two religions. That JMC is why we would not care if this were a Christian song. Taqiyya comment?

Just because you‘ve been indoctrinated since birth to believe something doesn’t make it true. When you apply your assumptions about afterlife to everyone then your argument fails because no one knows what happens. No one. And no book written by bronze age desert dwellers has the answer. The ACLU should immediately file a lawsuit against this district, and anyone made uncomfortable either singing this song or hearing it in the school should sign on as plaintiffs. Afterall, that’s essentially the response when a Christmas song is sung in schools. They are confiscating the valentines of second graders in Wisconsin which mention Jesus but they’re singing about Alla in Colorado! According to Jeff Kirtland,”The song was chosen because its rhythms and other qualities would provide an opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition, not because of its religious message or lyrics.” BS

Soooo….. Did anyone else here happen to notice that two of the headlining stories on The Blaze today are this story and the story about the cross on the Korean War memorial?

The Blaze seems to heartily support the right to put a big cross up on a public Korean War memorial over the protests of a group of Jewish war veterans who don’t think that they and their fellow veterans should be represented by such blatant Christian symbol.

Yet, The Blaze seems to strongly oppose the use of a Islamic song in an optional, afterschool choir program that sings songs from multiple faiths and seems to have gone to great lengths to ensure that students and parents were OK with this particular song.

So, when The Blaze insists on religious freedom, it really means religious freedom for Christians to use public venues to advertise their faith. This just reinforces the fact that the Tea Party is more or less defined by its complete lack of consistent principles.

When I was in high school, our directors (we went through a few unfortunately..) were always pretty open with the selections they gave us. During the Christmas season, if kids with certain beliefs were uncomfortable singing traditional Christmas songs, they were excused from singing for those songs or from the concert with no negative marks on their grades. Same went with every religious/spiritual themed pieces. There was no drama, no outbursts from outraged parents or students. That’s how it should be. Always.

As soon as people stop finding reasons to be pissed off at each other, the better. While I commend this senior for sticking to his beliefs, I don’t see the point in making a fuss over it. The school should have handled it better though.

And for those throwing the “narrow/closed-minded” cards so liberally, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. If public schools are being scrutinized for singing songs praising Jesus Christ, God, the Trinity, etc… then personally, I don’t think they should be able to sing songs praising ANY other deity. They should stick to secular music only. But, that would limit the horizons, musically speaking, and I don‘t think that’s right either.

I am no Bible thumper, and would not consider myself a “Christian” BUT if you can’t see where this is not just a Muslim song…then you are the blind one here. Maybe it’s because you have no concept of being loyal to anything or anyone but yourself. But what this song is doing is forcing people of other faiths to speak/sing the words that degrade their own beliefs…..In the name of what?!?!? Art….I have my own spiritual beliefs that i will not dilute for any reason….

This is the problem i have with war on faith by any religious/government group….a big part of it is diluting the message, and pretty much saying “Its okay to have fantasies, and in the art world we will commemorate them in song to appease you….Saddly people buy into this because it makes them feel special or something……but I don’t want my belief system to be treated as a novelty…..I don’t even care if others believe what i believe, but i don‘t want people to tell me i can’t believe it with everything I have.

Washington, it makes perfect sense. they do NOT like the TRUTH, so it is easy to swallow the parts about all this violent, deadly “religion” However, something that has TRUTH in it (Bible) washington wants no part of it.

It is either separation of church and state or it is not, HOWEVER, the politicians are picking and choosing the ONE mental group that has ONE AGENDA, to DESTROY AMERICA, JEWS and CHRISTIANS. They are not peaceful, they are not tolerant as the gullible public had been swallowing.
When killing innocent people is a way of life and they rejoice in others pain, they should be strung up and allowing us to use our imaginations on how to “peaceful and tolerantly” get along with them.
Why don’t we, being peaceful and tolerant kill them just like they do our people. Maybe that would get some attention.
The 1st thing is to get them out of America as we do not need people breeding killers on OUR SOIL!!

This issue has been blown totally out of proportion. As someone who has sung under this director, I can assure you that the choice was intended as a choice for a musical challenge. There is no intent to promote Islam. The men’s choral group is an after school activity, for which the director volunteers time. At the State Choral competition, 6 of the 8 students who went from Grand Junction came from this director’s choral groups. No one was required to sing the song in question and parents and students were offered a choice of accepting or rejecting the music in question.

This has been totally blown out of proportion. The Men’s choral group is strictly a voluntary after school group which won honors last year in competiton. This young man attended only one recent rehearsal and never said a word until he contacted the TV station. He has a reputation for seeking attention and I guess he got more than he’d hoped for. The choral director selected this piece as a challenge for non-western tonality and its rythme, not for its message.

      CONGONGRASS,
I get it, I get it. You were all quite innocent of any intended provocation.
My guess is that for many here, that in itself is the problem. A Grand Junction high school is proving to us just how far the PC brainwashing has gone. As public places across the country are being scrubbed of any reference to Christianity, and it’s “Happy Holidays” at the Grand Junction Mall, it’s now all cool and cultural to sing praises to Allah at the local school. Tell me where I am wrong.

Don’t let your nearsightedness put you on the defensive and keep you from seeing the big picture here. The details of how this came about do not excuse the outcome.

Do yourself a favor and get a good book on Middle Eastern history and a copy of the Koran.
Read them and pass them on to your music teacher friend. Your world view will never be the same.
People need to know who Allah is– according to the Koran itself.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again. I don’t care if they sing Muslim songs as long as they are sanitized as much as Christian ones. My son is in his middle school choir. They take out the word God, Jesus and Christmas. They extend the “Oh-o” instead of saying Oh God. If they left in the words, There is no Truth but Allah, that’s not exactly sanitized, now is it? I’d like them to sing songs like I Am Free, Amazing Grace, etc. if they are going to include that one. But you know they put some sanitized version or wishy-washy song that could very well be secular and claimed to have a Christian song. How many Mosques are in that town anyway? None.

If the song was chosen simply for its sound in Erdooo ignorant of the meaning of the sounds then Why did the music director provide translation. If the Student misunderstood the intent then the guy who wrote the song failed to express his intent clearly in that song. The Christian song is indeed just a song, in which some children pray “jesus help me,“ in the midst of a world where ”a gospel full of hate,” is their daily bread. Jesus is in no way or manner recognized/exalted as God in this song. A Muslim could sing this song, since they view Jesus as a (blessed) prophet of God.
      http://www.lyricstime.com/insideout-prayer-of-the-children-lyrics.html

By contrast, the Muslim “song” is actually a STATEMENT OF FAITH in Allah, the god of Islam. A Christian CANNOT make that statement, no matter if it is recited or done to music. Stating or singing that “There is no truth except Allah,” and that he is “eternal and immortal” pretty much echoes the Qur’an, and when done to music, the singer is not only MAKING a statement of faith, but EXALTING Allah.

MACCOW et al., if you sing that song, you are DENYING the one true God, YAHWEH, and inviting every demon in hell into your heart. Where is your knowledge of the spirit world, for crying out loud?

To those who say “Allah” is the Arabic generic word for “god,” you either lie or are as ignorant as the parents who allowed their children to profess faith in Allah. “Allah,” is a proper name, like Yahweh is. It is the NAME of the god worshipped by Islam, and the spirit we Christians discern to be Satan, the author of death and violence on Earth.

Saw this and it explained the difference:

The Iman stated that “ALLAH” translated to God and was the same God as worshipped by Jesus. Well, any reading of the Quran will show that view is ABSOLUTELY wrong. The God described in the Quran has absolutely NO relationship resembling the God worshipped by Jews or Christians.

The “God” worshipped by Muslims is hateful, non-forgiving, and dislikes women. Even a cusory reading will reveal that. The muslim God is derived from the original worship of the moon god (Al-lah) and the “mohammed” replacement used this term to get “his” religion more easily accepted.

The idea that the god muslims worship is the same that the Jews and Christians worship is a lie that the Iman who said it on TV knows all too well. He used a lie to infidels (in order to convert them or to make it easier to convert them to islam) knows as Taqiyya.

Perhaps one day you will develop some common sense when you get rid of your liberal wacko ways. For one thing, “Christian” songs do not state that God is the only true God or anything like that (He is by the way)! Another thing is that NO ONE is trying to for Christianity down anyone’s throat. When Christian songs are sung, they are singing that He is good and He is great and anyone that does not believe or feel that way is not made to sing it. Based on the stupid statement you made I would have to say that you probably claim to be atheist (which is crock since technically there is no such thing. However, like most “atheists” you try to force “atheism” down OUR throats and try to ban us from worshiping God in public or anywhere else and like a typical “atheist” you try to justify your attempts to prevent us from worshiping by claiming that we do. I have heard a lot of STUPID remarks by people and you can be proud because yours is right up there alongside the most stupid ones. To get back to the story, whoever sings this song is proclaiming that allah (a moon god) is that “There is no truth except Allah” and “Allah is the only eternal and immortal.” which like just about everything that “atheists” say is an absolute lie. We will still pray for you that you get recognize and accept God as the creator of everything as well as some common sense. God bless and love you!

I’m honestly not sure what to think of this because on one hand they apparently included this song as well…
Can you hear the prayer of the children
on bended knee, in the shadow of an unknown room?
Empty eyes with no more tears to cry
      turning heavenward toward the light.
      Crying,” Jesus, help me
to see the morning light of one more day,
but if I should die before I wake,
I pray my soul to take.”
Can you feel the hearts of the children
aching for home, for something of their very own.
Reaching hands with nothing to hold onto
but hope for a better day, a better day.
      Crying,” Jesus, help me
to feel the love again in my own land,
but if unknown roads lead away from home,
give me loving arms, away from harm.”
(oooooo la la la la etc etc.)
Can you hear the voice of the children
softly pleading for silence in their shattered world?
Angry guns preach a gospel full of hate,
blood of the innocent on their hands.
      Crying,” Jesus, help me
to feel the sun again upon my face?
For when darkness clears, I know you’re near,
      bringing peace again.”

The video with the Islamic song however does have me a little worried 1. for the obvious reasons but 2. on the video I believe I believe I saw an image, about 3:38 in to it, of Panama, Mexico, and the Northern part of South America In flames… now I don‘t speak the language so I can’t know the content of it but to me it reminded me alittle too much of radicals desire to raze the “west” to the ground. but again

“Look! Where are the advocates of separation of church and state?”

The Supreme Court’s been pretty clear on what the separation of church and state means: either you allow several views or faiths, or you allow none. This choir had several songs from different backgrounds and faiths; ergo, no breach of the separation, because it’s not promoting one religion above others (as opposed to, say, a school prayer that is strictly Christian in terminology).

If Islamic fundamentalists break the law, throw them in jail. There’s a clear line between peaceful prayer and encouraging or actually participating in violence. Until that line is crossed, they have every right to practice their religion – peacefully. Prosecuting for what people MIGHT do, or MIGHT believe, is the sign of a totalitarian state.

I’m not positive that thanking God in a graduation speech has been banned; do you have a case name? Closest I could find Medina Valley, which didn’t ban mention of God, but prayer (they went and did it anyway). I don’t agree with it; I think students should be allowed to express their views; but I understand the reasoning: the school had to agree to it (thus endorsing prayer); it’s done at a school event (thus implying the school endorses it); and it’s done with school equipment (sound system, stage, etc… again, implying endorsement).

“Islamists and or Christians are not free to WORSHIP at school and that is not even being debated here but you bring it up as if its still a right”

Not sure why you brought it up, as I never mentioned WORSHIP (as you did). Students of all faiths are allowed to pray so long as it doesn’t interrupt academics or intimidate others. Religious displays that are academic in nature are allowed (ie, you can have a display about Christianity as long as displays about other religions are allowed; none of them can say things like “Convert to our religion or burn in Hell” though).

A god ( like allah – I refuse to write that name wit a capital letter) that encourages people to kill other people because of different/other believes and that makes people to look at women as inferior should never be accepted in a democratic country. If people want to worship this kind of god then they should stay in their own country.

Look at the countries where there’s a war going on now…. only muslim countries. The explanation is written above.

The reason that ball of wax sickens you, & angers you is because of the spiritual evil, the force with a face, and an agenda: to kill. Steal. And destroy. I just call him the enemy. When Muhammad received the first ‘visits’ from Allah, he was terrified & thought it was the devil. The God who created us has visited many in human likeness. While they were all afraid, but none thought he was evil. Point is: This hate breeding murderous religion is literally chewing up mankind. And you’re absolutely right: There’s no discussing peace. None are peaceful. The word Islam Muslims will tell you means peace. They lie: It means ‘submission’. Evil

Everyone should lighten up, it’s just MUSIC, not intended to be a religious experience. I‘m sure the choir instructor’s union has given instructions on being gracious to our future masters. Besides, the article states “Rahman, who has sold hundreds of millions of records and is well-known in his homeland“ so though I am not familiar with the ”music”(sounded like Rap to me) I am familiar with his noodles, have eaten them many time and found them to be quite good.

The shahada is the Islamic profession of the faith, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.” To convert to Islam, one simply has to recite this while believing it in one’s heart.

This young man is the very kind of American that we need lots more of!! Jeff Kirtland needs to somewhere that he is never around children – or young men like James even. For those who seem to have forgotten, this (in spite of what Obama says) IS a Christian nation (thanks be to God) and will remain so for as long as there are God fearing Christians here and the Constitution remains rule of law. I“m aware that ”this is just a song” but to that, let me write a little thing that I’ve seen to be true, over and over in my 72 years here: “The unfamiliar spoken enough, soon becomes the familiar. Then, it becomes the “accepted” – and eventually, the “accepted” becomes the “normal”! There should be incentive for at least 50% of this nation to object to “Mohammadism” becoming the “normal” here – and that is the subjugation of women. How can we (men or women) forget (overlook, ignore, disregard, not consider, believe, allow) or EVER think that the Muslim religion is something that we as Americans could endure given the freedoms that we know in this incredible country! God, please bless and save these United States of America

But if the (unbelievers) are proud, (it does not matter): Because, in the Presence of your Lord are those (His, Angels) who celebrate His Praises by night and by day. And they are never tired of it (nor feel themselves above it).

And among His sign is this: You see the earth with nothing growing and wasted, but when We (Allah) send down rain to it, it is (gently) brought to life and the plants regrow. Truly, He Who gives life to it (the earth which is dead) can surely give life to the dead. Indeed, over all things, He is most Powerful Able to do all things. (Holy Qur’an 41:37-39)

“The world is reaching a cross-roads, a dangerous turning point regarding the threat of Islamofascism. According to the Qur’an, Islam has always had world domination as it’s ultimate goal, but now it’s sights are firmly fixed on America. Muslim groups and organizations have infiltrated our culture, seeking to establish Sharia (Islamic Law) across our great nation. With the election of Barack Hussein Obama as President, our political leadership has installed Muslims in powerful and key positions across the federal government. In this thought-provoking seminar, Usama draws upon current events in the news to demonstrate how quickly we are moving towards “one nation under Islam.” His message is clear: America, now is the time to choose, to choose Freedom, or to unknowingly choose to Surrender to Islam. You will want to share this powerful call to action with family and friends. Freedom or Surrender–it’s time to choose.”

I would say, if you allow one, you must allow all. If you ban one, you must ban all.
The whole idea that you can’t even bring a religious book to school, or have a prayer club, or even mention the word God is moronic. BUT, if the left wants to ban all those things, then this too must not be allowed. In my opinion, the correct way is to stop letting the atheists decide what we can and can’t say and do in school, which would also then allow this song.

[I would say, if you allow one, you must allow all. If you ban one, you must ban all.]
      Exactly.

[The whole idea that you can’t even bring a religious book to school,]
I don’t believe your premiss is true. You can bring pretty much any reading material you want to school as long as it is not pornographic. And you can read it to “yourself” on your “spare” time but at no point should it ever infringe someone else’s individual liberty.

[or have a prayer club, or even mention the word God is moronic.]
You can have a prayer club at your church and you can mention god all you want until you become an irritation to your peers. However religion is not a legitimate function of government thus it is not the job of a taxpayer funded government school to be reciting prayers. They can educate you about the many different types of religion, they cannot however indoctrinate you into believing one. Which is essentially what that song entails.

[the correct way is to stop letting the atheists decide what we can and can’t say]
This isn’t about what you as an individual can or cannot say.
It is about what government can or cannot do.
Religion is not a legitimate function or an inalienable right of the “government”.
Of which includes tax payer funded government schools.
How can that be made anymore clear?

here’s another take on what the allah is:

      Proquci Prodesse1 day ago
I grew up in the Middle East, first moving to the Gulf States in 78. I have lived throughout the whole region, every Gulf State, Iraq many times, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and recently, although 40% Orthodox Christian, Central Asia and the Stan States. I have lived under islamic sharia in many Countries, I understand the mind set, the fabric of the Arab Culture and how islam is a part of it and rules every inch of the life of the moslem. Allah is not the God of the Christians and or the Jews

. We are entering sad times as islam is now upon us all and we will be forced to live under islamic sharia, for a time and then, its curtains for islam. Do not be fooled, islam is not a religion, islam is a political ideology and must be treated as such. islamic sharia law is the heart of islam and a simple way to slay the beast without the need for spilling of blood, bullets and bombs and that is to through the judicial system “OUTLAW AND CRIMINALISE SHARIA” .. Its that simple. The mosque cannot operate unless it is in accordance with sharia. Halal food cannot be served unless it is islamically slaughtered in accordance with sharia. The imam of the mosque cannot give his sermon unless it is adhering to the laws of sharia. A moslem cannot be a moslem unless he also follows islamic sharia. And one cannot be forced to be moslem but one can be forced to live under sharia as a Dhimmi . http://www.dhimmitude

      **************
You’re 100% correct. For you idiots out there that keep repeating that some ole tired refrain; “Allah is the moon god” Here is what the Qur’an says:

And among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate (bow down in worship) yourselves to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate yourselves to Allah (Arabic, word for God Almighty), Who created them, if it is Him that you wish to serve.

      Surhan
Contrary to Muslim claims, the word “Allah” is never found in the Bible
      in either Hebrew and Greek.
The closest two words we find are the Hebrew “alah”
(which means to curse, mourn or rise, and is never applied to God)
and the Hebrew word “Elah” (Strongs 425)
which means has been translated either oak or turpentine tree. Isa 6:13.
So apart form the superficial similarity in appearance arguing Allah is in the Bible
      because of similarities…
Is like saying Mormon is in the Qur’an because it looks like Muslim…!

They spell it Elah when they are talking about Hebrew or Aramaic, but it is a Hebrew and Aramaic word for God, and it’s pretty much the same as the Arabic word for God. Allah is the word that Arab Christians use when they worship in Arabic, so anyone who goes nuts at the sound of the word is just a stupid, ignorant bigot.

allah may be the generic name for god, but the God (YWHW) of the Bible is distinctly different from the god of the Quran so they are not the same. If a Christian who believes in YWHW of the Holy Bible says another god is the one true god, he/she would be going against their beliefs.

      @SurhanSurhan

The Quran is not Gods word….the oldest revelation as to who God is and his revealing himself to the world is the Tora. Romans 3:2 The Oracles of God were committed to the Jews
YHWH is the only true God….Any religion or people can say who ever they want is the Almighty God, but only the God of the bible as revealed, is the one true triune God. Col 2:9 for in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
The Muslims say God has no son…..This Allah is not the creator and Islam is not the religion through Mohammad revealed. Jesus is God the Son (Col 1:6 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth. Visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all thing were created by him and for him) John 1:1 ….The Word was God….v:14 and became flesh…..
Do not say Allah and Jesus are the same God…Isa 9:6 for unto us a child is born, unto to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The prince of peace. This is God not Allah and his false prophet Mohammad..
Case closed…the triune God…Jesus is the Almighty God. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost, these three are ONE…..

People should know better to follow a cult that is led by
A deceiving illiterate pedophile ,that was possessed by a evil spirit …
So much so …His wife told him they were visions from Allah .
      It was that …
      OR
He was just having epileptic seizures and his wife convinced him
they were vision from Allah …
      Take your pick..!

Also in regard to you claim of “Scofield” …!

Your proof of Allah in the Bible…
Using the “Scofield reference Bible” as proof…!
      Is completely false …!

It is within a COMMENTARY section in the words of Scofield, where he uses the word “Elah” and “Alah”.

Scofield’s comments do not prove Allah is used in the Bible, but are “HIS” own personal opinions.

Scofield does not use the word “Allah”, but “Elah” and “Alah”.

Commentators opinions are no proof Allah is in the Bible!

The fact remains that in the Hebrew original text of the Bible, the word “Allah” is never found!

It is obvious that the consensus of modern scholarship disagreed with Scofield’s opinion…!

For this reason…They removed it from the revised edition.

It is very unlikely they were thinking of Islam at all, when they chose to remove the comments.

And I would bet your shinny sword ..
That Scofield himself would have revised the references himself, if he knew how Muslims were going pervert and distort his words..!

Sirhan, you state the Bible is not the word of God….

-(Quran, 3:3)”… and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus)…”
-(Quran, 6:34)”…there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah…” .

      – sirhan you claim Allah’s words were changed by saying the Gospels are corrupt? That means you do not believe the Quran either! You state that God’s word is never changed, but the Bible is changed. You say it USED TO BE completely true, but now it has truth combined with error. If that is so, then why do you quote it when it is convenient for you sirhan?
Sirhansatan you say the Bible is valid when it agrees with the Quran but they will say it is wrong when it contradicts the Quran. BLASPHEME!

Sirhansatan, You dont believe what Jesus said about Himself. You say the Bible is corrupt, but who corrupted it and when was it corrupted? If you don’t know, then don’t say it.
      -
Why do you continue to repeat the same old stuff that has already been answered so many times? Are you not interested in the truth? Or, are you just interested in repeating the same old errors?

This is true, Allah is the moon good, little more than a pile of stones in Mecca around 1000 BC if memory serves me. Another thing I don’t understand is, how Islam glams on to their connection to Abraham. Abraham had sex with Sarah’s handmaiden Hagar thus producing Ishmael one of the first decedents of Islam. It‘s clear in scripture that God did not approve of Abraham’s disobedience to God and later had a child Isaac which the Bible says is “Abraham’s only true begotten son“ thus making Ishmael out to be a ”wild ass of a man” Also, shortly after Ishmael’s birth, Hagar started being a bitch to Sarah and Abraham told her to “take out the trash” so to say and her and Ishmael traveled throughout north Africa spreading what would become Islam.
