There You Go Again: Tebow Leads Broncos in Another Comeback Win

While his passing efficiency reverted from last week’s positive performance, Bronco Fans and Tebow entusiasts alike are rejoicing as the spirited quarterback led his team back in the fourth quarter and overtime to defeat the Chicago Bears, pushing the Denver record this season with Tebow as a starter to 7 and 1.
Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater’s 59-yard field goal with 2 seconds left in regulation tied the score, and Prater’s 51-yarder with 8:34 left in overtime confirmed the 13-10 win over the Bears.
After failing to score on their first 11 possessions, the Broncos erased a 10-0 deficit in the final 2:08 of regulation, first with a scrambling Tebow pass to Wide Receiver Demaryius Thomas in the endzone, then with Prater’s kick following a Tebow drive that began with 58 seconds left on the clock.
During overtime the Bears won the crucial toss and were in field goal range to end the game, but Chicago running back Marion Barber fumbled the football at the Broncos 34 and Elvis Dumervil recovered.
Tebow finished the game with a 68.3 passer rating which his critics will chastise, but growing nation of fans ignore.
To the diminishing group of doubters, Mike Klis of The Denver Post puts it best:
“It’s never too late for Tebow Time.
There is no antidote, no potion for Tebow Magic. The Broncos’ defense will force a fumble. The kicker will be true from beyond 50 yards. Receivers who were struggling all game with the drops will suddenly make superb catches.”

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 9:51pmI love Tebow. He’s a player, a fighter, a competitor or whatever you want to call him. This guy “works hard” to win. I really feel his spiral will eventually appear, but in the meantime let his grit speak for him. I’m a Tebow fan. I just love guys who work hard at winning. Even guys on the New England Patriots are prime examples that are not supposed to excel, but they do. I’m an underdog lover; the ones who work hard to get where they’re going.

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Posted on December 12, 2011 at 7:45amThe 10-3 N.E Patriots & Tom Brady are coming to town. If the Denver defense has ever needed to be super, it’ll be this weekend & keep NE within 13 points or so. Not only that, but that even the poorest of Christians are vastly more wealthy then the majority of the world. The majority of my friends are evangelical Christians. I have two friends who are Jews and many Aunts and Uncles that are Mormon. So I don’t “dislike them”(or any religion) as you say I do.
My beef with Christianity specifically is that their book explicitly talks about how difficult it is for rich people enter the kingdom of God. They then think that this God is the driving force in why America has been so successful in becoming the wealthiest nation ever. They talk about how loving Jesus is, how they follow him in their daily lives, as they spend Sundays watching football, cheering for Tim Tebow(I like him) and thinking God is actually having an impact on his play instead of spreading their beloved gospel. How can they justify this with Jesus’s teachings?
These are the same people(some not all) that don’t want evolution taught in schools(or want Creationism taught side by side) and think that scripture and prayer should be considered in matters of public policy.
It’s all fine and dandy when our founders were a mix of non-believers, deists and Christians, but they all agreed that our Government shouldn‘t back a church and shouldn’t create legislation based around those beliefs. Over time, as more and more Christians came into political office, that line has become more blurred so far that people think that “under God” has been in our pledge for generations, and not 60 years and that “In God we Trust” didn’t come onto paper money until

The frustrating thing is these die-hard fundamentalists who cheer for him SOLELY because he is a Christian and that think “God is on their side” as they live in their comfy houses, drive around in a decent(to sometimes nice) car, work at a dead end job, and only spread the gospel to other overly advantaged people in our country. Do some go on Missions to actually help other people in less advantaged people in the world? Yes(and I respect them greatly though I think all religions are a joke), but I’d say the average Christian lives their daily life, with their family(indoctrinating their children into their belief), doing nothing that any non religious person would do, except the weekly church attendance(or church event) and occasionally trying to convert a friend who they know very well. On the occasions where something goes good they say “God is great” but if something goes bad you get the “well who can really understand God(despite you just saying he is great)“ or ”God is mysterious” cop out answer.

As I said in the comment before you posted, nearly all of my friends are Evangelical Christians, so I have no problem with them and I love them dearly and treat them all respectfully.
That being said, Atheism doesn’t have anything to do with how you treat someone. It’s about searching for the truth and always being open to new evidence(which I am). Believers are not open to the same thought process though, because they claim to KNOW they have the truth and no evidence to the contrary will sway them. It is this thinking which scares me as Christianity becomes more fundamentalist so much so that they actively turn away from teaching their kids evolution and other scientific processes or try to conform their beliefs to new evidence. I have conversations with a friend who is a Pastor at an Evangelical church who says he thinks prayer and scripture should be considered on matters of Public Policy. I fear that this view point is becoming more mainstream among Christians and the blind support for Tim Tebow by the Christian fanbase is beginning to support that. People who root for him SOLELY because he is a Christian. Would they feel the same way about him if he praised Allah and prayed on a mat on the sidelines?
It‘ll be interesting to see how many people don’t vote for Romney solely because he is a Mormon. Religion is taboo, until the person doesn’t share the same faith as you. Have a Muslim or Atheist run for office and you’ll see how little support

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 8:50pmThere is a link somewhere online to the long list of NFL arrests. And yet the media and Bill Maher focus on this guys religion. I’m not a religious person by any means, but hate the constant attacks against Christianity/Catholicism/Judaism but yet the staunch defense of Islam and atheism.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 9:09pmThat’s because they are cowards,,, They know the Christian folks and Jewish people believe in free-moral-agency,,, if you want to serve God, serve him, if not,,, that is your business. This is why Bill Maher and the atheists keep their mouth shut concerning Islam,,, they know it could mean their death!

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 9:31pmBill Maher certainly does not keep his mouth shut about Islam. Anybody who actually watches his show could have told you that.
I like Tim Tebow because I’m a Florida fan and I have to root for an ex-Gator, but I do wish he would give the whole thanking his lord and savior nonsense a rest. I find it presumptuous for anyone to imagine that Jesus would give a hoot about whether they win a stupid football game, as if the other team weren’t equally God’s children, and I think it is insulting to his teammates and coaches who actually did something to help him win that they are always demoted to second billing.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 9:39pmBill Maher does speak out against Islam, but most in the liberal media give it a pass.
Like I said, I am not religious but I find it amusing that the media is so bothered by this. Have you even seen them attack rap stars for thanking god at awards show or wide receivers from pointing to the sky after a touch down? And that is more hypocritical because they’re usually very flawed in their own character.

I am a huge Bears fan but was actually, for the first time in my life, rooting for the other team. I love Tebow. I was hoping to watch for myself an awesome come back.
Don’t know why you are hating on Cutler, though. He wasn’t even playing (our season was looking golden until he got hurt trying to stop the ball carrier himself). I am so thankful we have him. Hurry and get well, Jay!
Robby Gould kicks a league record 57 yard field goal and you won’t hear about it because Prater went 2 yards better. Bronco‘s receivers couldn’t hang on to the ball for their life until the end of the game. And Barber not only fumbled but brought the ball out of bounds when the Bears desperately needed to keep the ball in play and wind down the clock. Stupid mistakes.
Yet it was amazing to watch. I want to see more of this! Go Tebow!

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 9:19pmHey TUMBLE,
You make great points and you are outstanding to say such nice things about our team. I think we may be over the Cutler stuff; I think we put it all on Orton several weeks ago. {: I do love how Tim T has absolutely no qualms about putting God first. It’s so crazy natural for him and I tend to think the rest of the team is inspired by him. What a great game today! I wish I had gone to the game but I was screaming at my tv–and this time not at a politician or our severely misguided prez. Have a great nite!! Go Broncs!

Posted on December 12, 2011 at 12:00pmnot only is Tebow a role model for kids (its okay to have morals) he sets the standard for his team he brings them together as a team. maybe they will lose a game but this man will still prase Jesus for all his blessings he has given him & he also prays for his teammates It also teaches young kids about how mean & bullies some people are
