These Are the Views From the New World Trade Center

Ten years after the Twin Towers crumbled at the hands of terrorists, the Freedom Tower is finally tickling the skies in Lower Manhattan. And now, the Port Authority of NY and NJ has released some stunning pictures (via Business Insider) of the new site.

The pictures were tweeted out from the WTCProgress account and show everything from the ongoing construction to the incredible views. We’ve included some of them below:

    Having been in the old one‘s countless times in the late 70’s and 80′s mostly, it looks eerily similar..

    GOD bless the 3000 lives lost… and you can bet the Muzz’s are itching at the seams to get a piece of that place.

    And to think they were gonna allow a Victory Fort/Mosque to be built a block away close enough to be hit by RPG‘s and missiles launched from it’s roof had the project not collapsed upon itself due to the criminality of the owners and builders (All Muslims).

      PS I still Say they should have built 2 identical ones just like that in the lost towers’ place, just like 2 giant middle fingers stuck up to the rest of the world eastward who hate us for the most part.

      Yes. The twin towers should have been rebuilt, vice one tower. It only took 36 months to construct the Empire State building. I know, I know, it took time to clear the debris from the WTC site, but those towers should have been built and standing tall, completed YEARS ago. That’s America, today.
      It’s embarrassing. We used to be able to do incredible things in short order, now, well you get it.
      I‘m sure it’s due to politcians, government, collective “bargaining,” and a myriad of other BS reasons.
      I am so glad to be on the back nine so I don’t have to see the further crumbling of this failed “experiement” much longer.

      I was thinking the same. I got to go up top in 1970-1971 putting in emergency phones on the floors. No walls. Later I did some work cabling to the communications antennas. Walking through the clouds sometimes. I think I was the lowest paid guy up there. I worked for NY Telephone and everyone else was doing steel, mostly Irish from Ireland and Native Americans. And they drank on the job. Scary. buT IT was a beaustiful view. You could see Connecticutt, New Jersy and on really good days Pennsylvania.

    Yep- Need to hear it. When one person dies this way, dozens if not Hundreds lose a loved one or someone they deeply admire. This brings the toll of 3,000 into the 100s of thousands of victims and Millions affected beyond that. These people were made to chose their poison knowing their children, spouse parents would never see them again without so much as a good bye~! This is the evil that we face in the jihadist mentality (ISLAM). And we have a President who thinks we should all be given the same rights in the same courts?

      I agree too! New York is filled with nothing but trash. Have fun breathing each others breath and don’t let the Rats bite. Who needs to look at another broke, Left wing ran corrupt city full of burdens of society living of the backs of hard working patriotic Americans. I can almost smell the stinch through my monitor. The biggest memorial should be in PA where the Bravest soles gave up thier lives to save others they didn’t even know.

As far as cities go, NYC is extremely safe, extremely wealthy and hardworking, and the financial and cultural center of the US and the world.       NYC gets a bad wrap. It certainly has it’s under-belly, but there are many wonderful folks in NYC, and most folks that I’ve run into have been pleasant and polite. There is a “crusty” shell you sometimes have to get through, but with a little time you find out that New Yorkers are human too. ;-)

      It feels ok because you are from NYC and do not know any better! Maybe you can have your Union look me up and make me sleep with the fish. NYC is safe as long as you pay the gang protecting you.
      Also, I can say “AR” and it doesn’t sound like “ER” so there! Ps. your looking back when NYC was the legal way to come here and Illegals were not sanctioned at the tax payers expense. They were sent back.
      Now, Dems runs your city and it is broke. You have turned your backs on that beautiful statue in your back yard and what it was brought here to represent. So keep looking through the bars on your windows at the cars up on blocks and leave your door unlocked if it is so safe in NYC. It is if you can afford it!

      Wold, this is not directed at you only, so please don’t take offense. My wife and I have been to NYC only twice and on each of those trips, we met only the nicest of people. We are from a small town in Mississippi and had been told to expect mis-treatment. To our pleasant surprise, the people were most helpful when we were lost (which was often) and kind in every encounter. Some were amused at our accent of course and we at their’s, but being there was totally a great experience. But then, we were expecting a great experience and I hope that we “gave as good as we got”! I‘m 72 years old and one thing I’ve learned is that “To have a friend, you must be a friend”! I learned that from a friend of mine named Jesus – a long time ago.
      Works even in NYC – and for sure in Mississippi!
      Y’all come see us now – you hear!

    Beautiful images, but they have a very strange quality. Why do they look fake? They look like an artist’s rendering or paint-by-numbers to me.

      The reason the images look fake is because the photographer enhanced the tonal contrast in the image. It gives a mundane picture the dreamy artistic look of a painting. It’s quite common now, but the effect has helped take portrait photographers to the level where clients will pay “artist” prices for the photography.

      Yea they‘ve been messed with or ’enhanced’ in the blue areas particularly, as a Graphics and Photoshop expert, they added more contrast to it, it does make it look ‘watercolorish”, I agree.

    they will be the next buildings to go they should have left it the way it was there was a lot of people that pasted away there and were cant he people go to take flowers and stuff to there graves. i know they have a place with all there names and they can take them there but htat not were that are layed to rest

      Amen, I am so sick of these things, and people calling them art. Doing this 20 years ago in a dark room with real negatives took skill, sticking a single raw image in photoshop and clicking make it look ****** button isn’t art.

      I like the old black and white photos of NY construction sites from the early 1900″. Also Golden Gate, Hoover Dam type photos, these do look artsy.

      The trick to HDR images is making it LOOK like you didn’t use any Photoshop at all. There are very few people who shoot it and do it well. To be fair, it’s not easy…getting it right that is. When it is done correctly the effect can be stunning…but it should never club the viewer over the head. I agree it’s way over done these days. There are just too many people with cameras and a computer who think that’s all it takes to acquire talent.
