‘They’re Lying and They‘re Hiding it’: Parents of Slain Border Agent Brian Terry Speak Out in Rare TV Interview

The parents of Brian Terry, the slain U.S. Border Patrol agent killed by one of the guns from operation “Fast and Furious,“ appeared on ”Hannity” Thursday night in a Fox News exclusive. They made a desperate and emotional plea for justice for their fallen son.

Kent and Josephine Terry spoke out after President Obama earlier this week asserted executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents, seemingly setting up another roadblock on the path to the truth. They also announced the launch of “The Brian Terry Foundation” in honor of their hero son.

In a compelling and rare TV interview, the Terry family also described how they felt after they first found out their son was killed by a gun that was provided by the U.S. government to Mexican drug cartels, an absolutely life-altering event.

“I was very furious. I was very upset,” Kent said. “(It’s) like it’s a bad dream, like I’m gonna wake up.”

Josephine added she “didn’t believe it“ and there was a ”fog” that clouded her mind during the days after learning of her son’s demise.

The parents also revealed that Attorney General Eric Holder did not contact them before it was reported in the news that Brian Terry’s death was related to Fast and Furious. Even then, they say he only sent a letter and never called.

“Has President Obama ever reached out to you?” Hannity asked.

“At the funeral. He called us. At the funeral home,” Josephine said. “And we didn’t know nothing about the gunrunning, Fast and Furious or nothing about that at that time.”

They said the president did not reach out to them again after it became public that their son was killed as a result of a botched federal gun-walking operation.

“What would you like to say to the president and the attorney general of the United States?” Hannity pressed.

“I probably couldn’t say it on camera, what I’d like to say to them,” Kent replied bluntly. “But I’d say get their heads out of their butt anyway.”

Both parents seemed to agree that Obama’s untimely assertion of executive privilege, just hours before a scheduled contempt vote, makes it look as if they have something to hide.

“I think they’re hiding something. I think they‘re lying and they’re hiding it,” Kent said. “Big time… I think something happened out there, worse than what we know. And my son wasn’t even supposed to be out there that night.”

“Eric Holder has been before Congress so many times…after a while when you feel like throwing the TV through the window because you get tired of hearing the (constant) lies you know they are doing,” Josephine added, echoing her husband’s words.

The Terrys slammed certain lawmakers who argue that the Fast and Furious investigation motivated by only politics during an election year. “Why don’t they ask the people in Mexico who were murdered with them same guns that killed my son?” Kent asked.

However, Brian Terry’s mother flipped the script on people like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) who say it’s just partisan squabble. She argued that Democrats are actually the ones playing politics by trying to downplay the significance of Fast and Furious and putting it on the “back burner until the election is over.”

“I do too,” her husband agreed.

Hannity, too, reiterated there should be nothing political about justice for a fallen hero like Agent Terry.

“God forbid, if this is any parent, they have a right to know: how did our government provide the weapons to known criminals and killers that end up killing heroes like your son? This is not politics, this is basic human decency in my mind,” he added.

      The parents are allowing themselves to be used for political gain by the Rep Issa and his Witch Hunters.

      Rep. Issa called no member of the W. administration or his DOJ, the administration that created the program. This has been a witch hunt from day one, from a group of huper partician insurgents seeking to embrass an administration.

      Are we REALLY worried about one dead agent? Nah, this is partisan politics, and nothing more. How many people died in the middle east today? It‘s all BS and there’s blood on all of our hands. Remember, besides whatever casualties, drone kills, etc happen today, 18 (the average) veterans will commit suicide today. I’m sure that number will jump come November with the amount of bianary thinkers on this site.     Can anyone play Devil’s advocate and explain why they thought F and F was a program worth pursuing? Did they put like microchips in these guns with GPS so they could track them or something? Just sell American guns to people then track them after they capture them at crime scenes? How exactly does that help break up a drug cartel… I’m honestly curious.

      Notice what Jay Carney said yesterday? They’re running with the “Bush did it” line with this. Carney said “the tactic” was started by Bush. When Ed Henry said the operation was greenlighted by Obama’s DOJ in 2009 again…Carney stressed “tactic”. Not operation but “tactic”. Carney rigidly stuck to this careful word choice. Honestly it’s insulting to the Terry and Zapate families.

      It’s important to have the information to combat this blatant manipulation of the facts and word mincing by Obama. The “tactic” of “controlled delivery” is to allow some arms to go into the hands of the bad guys, follow them and arrest them. This is exactly what the Bush administration did with Operation Wide Receiver in 2006 and WITH the cooperation of the Mexican government (this is very important). The guns were followed and the bad guys apprehended and the guns were accounted for and no deaths of federal agents.

      But Obama’s “tactic” in 2009 was to let the guns loose and did not track them…and he DIDN”T get the cooperation of the Mexican government. It was a dumb operation and ATF had misgivings about it from the get go.
      “The purpose was to wait and watch, in the hope that law enforcement could identify other members of trafficking networks and build a large conspiracy case.” But the arms quickly disappeared and tracing the weapons became almost impossible. This is all on Obama and Holder and they’re hiding.

      Here’s my guess and I think it is also what they are hiding via executive privledge. The plan was always to get more guns that could be traced back to rthe U.S. into the hands of drug cartels so more blame could be layed at the feet of the U.S. and they (Obama, Holder, and their cohorts) could pursue more gun control legislation, or to give Obama fuel for an executive order about gun control overriding the Second Amendment in the U.S.

      My guess is that the White House memos actually lay this out and they will never be released. My guess is that they have already been destroyed and that anyone that has direct knowledge of them is in grave danger of turning up as a suicide in Fort Marcy Park..

      The Administration put these guns into the hands of the Cartel with the hope that the violence they created would reflect poorly on our U.S. Gun Laws. They wanted Americans to become enraged due to these actions, which would then give them enough “ammunition” (excuse the pun) to overturn the 2nd Amendment, “The Right to Bear Arms.”
      It backfired! Innocent people were killed with these unmarked guns. Now Congress is trying to seek justice for this despicable crime.

    My heart goes out to Kent and Josephine. Losing a son must be horrible enough. But to know you lost him because dishonorable politicians as high up as the White House caused his death through subterfuge against the American people in order to push a political agenda must be horrific.       Although this sounds damning, it is not the smoking gun everyone is making it out to be.. Project Gunrunner is the original program under Bush. Fast and Furious came from Project Gunrunner. Using phrases as “fortify” could have several meanings. Project Gunrunner was instituted to deny, deprive, stem the flow and suppress guns from the United States. (That came from the Mexican Embassy Website). Therefore, the use of the phrase “disrupting the flow of gun trafficking.” would well fall within that objective.

      Probably the real question to Holder was how much were you involved with Project Gunrunner?

      What is more interesting is that the cartels do not need straw purchasers to obtain weapons. Weapons are easily available on the international market (with considerably more firepower than AK47s). The claim that 90% of the guns come from the US does not have any bases in fact.

      A much more likely scenario is the government (Obama and Holder) wanting to use F & F as a vehicle to promote Draconian gun laws. When the public saw all these guns “recovered” it would be sympathetic to new restrictions on the purchase and ownership of “assault type weapons.”

      We really don’t know who shot Agent Terry. The bullet recovered from his body could not be linked in ballistic tests with any gun. It is possible that Agent Terry could have been a victim of friendly fire either by accident or otherwise. This may be the true cover up. It is just something to think about.

      No where in the video does it say anything about Fast and Furious. It talks about Obama and Holder authorizing more aggressive measures under the Project Gunrunner program. The full video has been around on U-Tube for quite some time.

      Was Obama and Holder in the loop? Did they just tell their underlings they wanted a scenario that would close down gun stores and create sympathy for new gun laws? Was Holder not in the loop regarding Fast and Furious and than later tried to cover up the operation? Or, is Holder just incompetent? It could be any one, or a combination of these. Until, the truth comes out, the carefully worded and crafted statement by Ogden IS NOT proof of anything. Saying otherwise just gives Liberals talking points and the ability to accuse others of wearing tin foil hats. Sorry, to be so blunt.

    all the discraceful behavior he’s displayed. He failed to prosecute the N.B.P. for
    voter intimidation. He wanted to try K.S.M. in civil court and now he’s engineered

    I cannot beleive that law enforcement community has not stuck together and stood up against Holder,that they let one of their own brothers get killed and do nothing about it,if all law officers stopped going to work on same day until they release all paper work on this case,I guess cops are afraid of doing the right thing for a fallen brother.But not the 17 thousand border patrol are standing up now they need other branchs of law officers to stand with them.Remember next bullet may be out you.

    In the 1970′s NPR was all we had to get news of this kind and they were not fair and balanced.
    I remember listening to the Nixon witch hunt and all that happened there was a break in to the Democratic Headquarters, nobody died.
    If a person believes that this was started during the Bush Admin., please explain why Pres. Obama would be protecting G W Bush?
    What really baffles me is why aren’t the Mexican people (both here and in Mexico) speaking out about this? How many of them died by these guns.
    By the way Obama told Mexican Pres. Calerone right around his election that he had plans to stop gun sales in the US. Hilary Clinton also made a statement about this. Maybe the coverup ( I mean exec. Priv.) really is National Security, after all an angry Mexican populace?
    One of the tactics the MSM is using is to pretend that this is no big deal, that it just started but a simple Google will disprove that as bloggers have been all over this for a year and a half. As well as talk radio.

      The Terrys deserve the truth, but the truth would bring down this administration just like it did Nixon. The reason for the executive privilege and cover up is that the administration is FULLY responsible for letting the guns ‘walk’ into Mexico. It was INTENTIONAL. It was part of a plot by Obama, Hillary and the rest of the goons to feed American guns to the Mexican cartels and then use the murder and chaos created to bolster their push for gun control here in the states. Does anyone remember Hillary publicly complaining to the media about the number of American guns making their way into Mexico and being used to murder hundreds of people way back in early 2009? And can anyone tell me why two American guns were left at the scene of Brian Terry’s murder? Seems a little suspicious to me. Criminals don’t usually leave their guns behind. Maybe they were meant to be found. Just sayin.

      *Operation Wide Receiver is the administration’s desperate excuse/distraction from their gunrunning activities; it was a Bush-era program that was supposedly identical to Operation Fast & Furious… except that attempts were made to keep track of the guns being sold (Operation Fast & Furious did not), OWR was conducted with the awareness and cooperation of the Mexican government (OF&F was not), and – contra the earnest attempts of the Obama administration – the program ended two years before Bush left office. So, in other words, it wasn’t particularly identical to Operation Fast & Furious at all.

      DOCROW, I’ve been looking into this as well. To me it looks as though they purposely tied a similar albeit successful program that occurred under the Bush Administration for the express purpose of blaming it on Bush should it become known. Then twisted the process for their attack on weapons in hopes to increase gun laws. Had it not been for the whistle blower John Dodson, they might well have become successful. Frankly, I think that the reason he came forward when he did, is because the Republicans held the House, and would actually listen. Had he come forward when the Dems held everything, there is no telling where he would be today.

      By the way, the gun store owners here in Arizona continually contacted the ATF to alert them that there were ‘gunrunners’ coming in multiple times to purchase multiple guns. They were TOLD to sell them to these people and to do nothing to track them. The Obama administration also posted signs in a miles-long corridor that goes from Mexico deep into Arizona and is commonly used by smugglers. The signs forbid anyone, INCLUDING LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, from entering. In other words, they allowed the guns to be sold, then allowed the gunrunners safe passage home. At the same time, Hillary was pushing gun control because so many American guns were making their into Mexico causing massive deaths and chaos. Then, when Brian Terry was murdered and the story broke, their first rection was to blame the gun store owners. Hmmmm…I wonder why the administration is trying to bury this story. I guess they feel they can get away with it because they own the WH and the justice department, and have essentially shut down congress by keeping a majority in the senate. Question is…are they right?

      Could the agenda/goal of Fast and Furious be exposed in the name itself? The name Project Gunrunner makes sense because they were using gunrunners to track down the actual buyers. So how/why did they come up with the name Fast and Furious? In an effort to push their agenda for US gun control, Obama and Hillary were spreading the theme that 90% of the guns used in crime in Mexico could be tracked to gun dealers in the SW border states. Could they possibly have created and enforced Fast and Furious for the sole purpose of backing up that theme on a “fast” and “furious” level? The news of accelerated murder and chaos created from these guns that were ALLOWED to ‘walk’ could have been the main goal of the project. Just a thought…

    Don’t forget to mention the fact that hundreds of Mexicans were also killed. Mr. Obama and Holder have a lot of blood on their hands. Mr. Issa is a patriot, unlike most of the Repubs in Congress.
