And then there were three.

A third NBC employee has been fired from the network after yet another misleadingly edited George Zimmerman 911 tape surfaced from the Trayvon Martin shooting.

Lilia Luciano, a Miami-based correspondent, “is no longer working for the network,” TVNewser reports. Her firing follows the axing of an NBC producer who edited the original 911 call that caused so much controversy as well as a local NBC reporter, Jeff Burnside, who was found to have used a similarly-edited recording.

TVNewser explains what happened with the latest incident:

In a story for the “Today” show on March 20, Luciano used part of the George Zimmerman 911 call in which an entire phrase (italicized below) was taken from a later part of the conversation:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good or on drugs or something. He’s got his hand in his waistband. And he’s a black male.
Dispatcher: Are you following him?
Zimmerman: Yeah.
Dispatcher: Okay, we don’t need you to do that.

But here’s how the call really went:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he white, black, or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

NBC confirmed to Newser that Luciano is no longer with the network after having joined them a short 18 months ago from Univision. Her firing came after an internal investigation into the incident.

Media watchdog Media Research Center (MRC) excoriated NBC over the news, especially considering the network has yet to deliver an on-air apology (it has, however, done so via a statement).

“Despite Steve Capus, NBC News president, admitting they ‘probably’ should have apologized on-air, NBC still has yet to do so,” MRC’s president, Brent Bozell, said in a statement. “Even the local NBC affiliate that doctored the clip has fired the offender and apologized and retracted on-air.”

“Own up to your dishonesty, NBC,” he added, “tell your audience the truth for once and for all.”

    NBC sure isn’t Huntley/Brinkley anymore. What a disgrace deliberately editing out of context to make a person appear racist. And the consequence of these actions is you have mini mobs of minorities attacking innocents under the guise of revenge. What a damn shame.

      It‘s funny isn’t it? Obama is black to the enemedia but he has a white mother. Zimmerman is white to the enemedia but he has a latin mother. Both men have prominent ethnic features..but the one needed for the “white establishment racism” narrative must be made white at all costs and the one needed to be made immune to criticism must be made black at all costs.

      She tried to set up George Zimmerman for a life sentence (the penalty for 2nd degree murder). That should be her sentence.
      An eye for an eye. She would do it to him, so she must think it’s a fair sentence.
      That she didn’t succeed should not matter. You do not reward incompetence.

The people involved in editing these tapes and those who chose to push them in the Media knowing that they had been edited in order to produce a desired outcome all deserved to be tried and I believe to be found guilty of Murder. It was a heinous act.

      I’ts obvious whats going on here. 5 years ago NBC and it’s “NEWS” affiliate, MSNBC were about to collapse. They even had to give 500,000.00 back to their advertisers, just to keep them on board. Before this happened, they were better at reporting the news. Now, all they do, all day long is sensationalize any thing they can find and pimp for Obama. Their ratings are up and they are profitable. They are not any better than any other tabloid and they know it but sensationalism makes money and that‘s what it’s all about.

      What happened to these disciples of Walter Cronkite? It seems that the MSM is more interested in creating news than reporting it. Twist the truth, distort conversations, take selective phrases from public or private comments and publish them without reporting the rest of the conversation or the context. This has all become common. It would seem that moral issues are applied only to others and maybe are not being taught in our journalism schools.
      Based on what is know so far, it looks like Zimmermann will not be convicted and maybe won’t even go to trial.

      Chet Huntley and David Brinkley did their share of slanting the news as well during the height of the Viet Nam War, but by today’s standards, they would be the gold standard for “purity.“ Now we have Chris Matthews setting the standard for ”objectivity.” Unfortunately, we’re now raising the second generation who never lived through the malaise of the Carter years and experienced the enthusiasm and unifying garnered by Ronald Reagan, much less the contextual knowledge of those “personalities” who proceeded them.

      Since radical leftists NEVER give logical reasons or even logical explanations for what they believe or for the deceit they engage in, preferring to denigrate anybody or anything on the right, it’s hard to know just what this pitiful creature thought she was accomplishing by falsifying the tape.

      I, for one, would like to see her cross examined intensely as to her views…..and to what she believes she accomplishes….. when she manipulates things or people and lies about them.

      I‘m willing to bet she will reveal an OWS mindset whereby she doesn’t really know why she does what she does, but has some vague idea that it’s probably helpful, because it might intimidate conservatives even more so than they are now. But how that’s supposed to happen, when it involves a Hispanic watchman who is a Democrat is a mystery, but it probably registers somewhere in the dark recesses of her mind as a good idea. Kind of like the OWS protestors who said they wanted a society without money, then went on to explain the things they would like to buy.

      That being said, Zimm and his family are lying. Their version is hogwash. I could write two pages here showing the inconsistencies, but unfortunately, I can’t blog tonight. Before you all get visceral, I am not saying he’s guilty; just that his story is full of holes. I wish we could study the facts objectively, but this has become a racial issue. Being half-white OR white (if that were the case) doesn’t automatically make a man innocent or truthful, does it?

      As for the racial backlash, I find the reaction from the Black Supremacist Community, including Hussein and the preachers from hell, reprehensible. I also feel sorry for Z and his family. But I can no longer defend him. He is lying about what really happened that night.

      NBC and all the media outlets that aired the doctored tapes and their phoney transcripts are complicit in creating a false impression that Mr. Zimmerman is a racist and profiler when he is not either.

      The TV and Newspaper accounts of the incident are almost ALL incorrect in reporting the KNOWN FACTS of the case. The objective of the MSM is to show that Blacks are still subject to White racist actions. All BS; and the MSM never reports on the many incidents of black on white crime where there is indeed black hatred of whites that is blatent.

      As bad as a “spin” is – this is way worse and IS criminal. It’s called falsifying evidence in court!

      Every person caught doing so should not merely be fired, but be charged in a court of law.

      We may end up having many “journalists” going thru our courts as a result, but if it has to be done, it has to be done! We surely can replace them seeing so many people need jobs!

      I see I am not the only one who was disappointed with Glenn’s initial remarks about this case. Watching on gbtv when the news was 1st promoted and disguised by NBC as being a white on black crime – Glenn’s remarks were less than admirable.

      Please stay with the facts and leave psuedo-journalism for the break-room. Yes, we are still a subscriber to plus… and Yes, our family attended Restore Honor and waited for 3 hours at the metro to board (without a bathroom break)… So it‘s not like we do not believe in Glenn’s ideals.

      Many people probably don’t remember, but Glenn was also initially, shall we say “not-so into” the idea of the Tea Party at it’s beginning either. YES, I was listening for many of those radio shows, and remember it like yesterday. I still firmly believe Glenn has done many good things for the country as have all conservative talk radio hosts, but NONE of them are right about everything, all the time, and we should always remind ourselves that.

      I vote for this, too–and am still basically a “Glenn fan” and supporter. But TRUTH is TRUTH and it isn’t even wise to present things as truth until ALL THE FACTS are in–and even THEN we ought to be cautious (always better to err on the side of caution!).

      I feel the same things were done to Herman Cain. Bottom line is: WE do not know ALL the facts or WHAT the 100% truth is. ONLY one in the media I heard SAY that was Rusty Humphries! Glenn and some others have made fun at his expense as if he was 100% guilty–without having ALL the facts or truly knowing for SURE.

      If you’re gonna stand for truth, please do so–for EVERYONE (whether you think he/she is guilty, like him/her or not). Otherwise you may as well pitch the slogan “The truth lives here” because it will mean nothing. :-(

      Wow! Realist, how right you are. When I first heard Glenn’s take on Zimmerman I had to turn him off. I didn’t listen again for several days.

      I‘m also a big fan of ’Michael Savage’, yet he too, frequently, undermines his own argument and becomes impossible to listen to. His books, however, like most of Glenn’s, are always exellent.

      I’m regularly amazed by the apparent ease with which Glen et al fall prey to the same manipulations they have warned about and decried for so many years. It simply points to the fact that behind the scene manipulation has become so prevalent and skillfully done that it’s often invisible; even to the most observant of us.

      Add to the list the FEMA camps, which Glenn VEHEMENTLY denied existed. Now FEMA has not only admitted to them, they are accepting applications for positions in them and are telling applicants that they will be on 72-hour notice for starting……

      I certainly hope that Glenn retains enough of the honest Journalistic Spirit to give Ron Paul, and the principles he stands for and supports, another look. I realize that he doesn’t care for the Truthers, but they are a very small portion of Ron’s supporters. Most of his supporters are good solid TEA-Party types and people who think for themselves , and believe in smaller, less-intrusive Government. We also believe in Personal Responsibility, which has been sadly lacking in this whole Trayvon fiasco.

They didn’t really change the story line of the recent Urban Terrorist Attack on two of their OWN employees; they only completely Failed To Report It !       Since when can’t a private citizen sue ? Deliberate defamation of character ! If there is such a thing as being a public figure, he should doubly be able to sue the liars for making him one.
      He should be able to own a network after this debacle. Remember the late Richard Jewel ? He was demonized incorrectly and unjustly by the press and sued. These supposedly stalwart guardians and reporters of freedom are no better than terrorists. They just attack on a smaller scale.

      “Public figure” only applies to elected officials, and those actively running for office.

      Glenn Beck, Bret Hume, O’Reilly are as guilty as the other “reporters” on other stations of being LAZY. Bret Hume admitted he was in the case of the validity of the Tea Party when he said “I read it over the wires and just thought it was something silly” (paraphrased). The same happened when the Tiger Woods problem arose nobody followed up on his sleepyness when the local police got there nor did they even connect the fact that he practiced sex with ambien.

      The underwear bomber didn’t just shut up after 50 minutes of interrogation, he was injured – burned – and in pain so doctors sedated him. He couldn‘t talk didn’t refuse to talk. The presidential daughters were in Oaxaca when the earthquake hit – the epicenter of the quake but reporters reported from Mexico City, not knowing what the girls’ condition was. So the real culprit in all of this was the AP and laziness.

    This entire Trayvon Martin case is insane. I have a feeling they will find Zimmerman not guilty and the east coast of Florida is going to burn to the ground. Then they will insist that the rest of us pay to rebuild the area. Not to sound racist but a large portion of the black community in Florida projects (not all of them) will cause a riot just so they can have the projects rebuilt (new buildings that are clean). Then they run them into the ground.

      Eh, I’m not interested in a class action suit…. The only one making any money will be the lawyer, especially if they get a lot of people in on the suit.
