I have seen this first hand from a technology standpoint. The E-Rate program and Reduced lunch program offset technology initiatives based on a percentage of matching funds the government provides for schools. The biggest challenge is getting students to sign up because most of them are embarrassed to used vouchers and as a result, many schools cannot upgrade their outdated technology.

That sounds an awful lot like a steaming load of crap… I think the lunch program “matching funds,” are a huge incentive for school districts to enroll as many as possible in their programs, and inflate numbers, for funding purposes and for the purpose of creating more gov’t (union) jobs…. Difficult to find? Reluctant to enroll?? Maybe just tougher to coerce.. I’m just sayin…

Back east the schools are under performing, there is a serious drop out rate, teachers that belong to Unions that are worthless, the choices are home school and private school. I can not think of one good reason to listen to Charlie because he should be locked up for tax evasion and violations he has committed as a senator. Just another George Soros puppet that is controlled by the communist left

My head is exploding after listening to these two. They somehow tossed multiple issues into the pot and blamed them the entire mess on the Wisconsin governor all in the name of “social justice”. Will someone please tell the liberal minority in this country that we have lived by the tenets of “equal justice” for over 200 years, not social justice. That is their invention.

Just heard on Fox that it will cost 7.5 million dollars to repair the damages made by the protesters to the Capitol building in Madison. Personally, I think the 14 AWOL Democrats should pay for part of that bill. If they had not skipped town and delayed the legislative process of the state of Wisconsin, those protesters would not have been there for two weeks to do that damage.

take a step back and look at the big picture Ed and Al. If schools are to be judge based on their teachers, and the teachers HAVE to start teaching (not baby sitting). Then won’t the inner city schools get better? Won’t inner city children become smarter? The reason the liberals don‘t like this is because they won’t be able to push their opinions on the chirldren anymore. the parents can move thei kids to school they like! and the liberals won’t be able to brainwash our future generations anymore! which is good for everyone.

no argument, here comes the race card, Instead of helping make schools better, play the race card…Now for 60 years that card should have had an expiration date. Inner city kids won’t use them, because Rev Al and Ed and the rest want the status quo, because if that goes away, their power goes with it. DC had it and Obama was against it, they want people illiterate, they want people poor, becasue if they are not illiterate and poor they will never learn they do not need government.

In the black community, the focus isn’t so much on having an ordained minister (one who went to seminary school), instead the preachers of most black churches are those who are very active in the church & have worked their way through the various positions in the church, eventually preaching sermons. I know several folks who call themselves Reverend but have never been ordained, it’s a cultural thing.

I had to stop the video right after Ed started talking because they are complete morons if they can’t understand their own contradictions-

Ed mentions that it’s racist = stupid
    ….but wait, there’s more

It doesn’t help those below the poverty level—- wrong! It provides an equal opportunity for them AND the next point Ed makes is completely contradictory- It forces those under the poverty level to pay for other people that will benefit from it.

They are disconnected from reality because those under the poverty level not only don’t pay income tax, but they get money back in the form of credits that are applied directly to the return and not to the taxable income.

If most people were aware of the way the tax code benefits the poor they would be driven mad because hard work is being disincentivized.

In most states, property taxes, not income taxes go towards the schools. Not many people below the poverty line own their own property & therefore don’t pay into the public school system…the ones that do are either elderly & weren’t below the poverty line when they bought the property or have now inherited the homes in which their families live. You think someone as “smart & educated” as Schultzie & Sharpton would know that before lecturing to us “stupid people”.

      Well put.
It brings to mind the comments I’ve heard progressives say recently about Clarence Thomas going “back to the fields”. I don’t understand how progressives have the ability to call conservatives “racists” or “haters”.
THEY are the ones that categorize, isolate, and offer different strategies for different groups.
I hope and pray for a leader that will call this exactly what it is, with boldness and clarity.
We truly need a mature, clear delineation of the pure differences in philosophy and principles between progressives and conservatives.
Hopefully this will come to pass, and SOON.

To me it seems like a no-brainer: $20,000/pupil in public schools; $7500/voucher for a private school. Let’s save the taxpayers $12500 /pupil !! Both systems use teachers – so no loss in employment.

There are some words in the English language that almost all citizens consider evil or bad. Some of these words are a racist, conspiracy, steal, fraud, thief, crook, rapist or terrorist. Rich, socialist, communist, fascist or charlatan have bad implications with many citizens. One tried and true propaganda tactic to discredit an adversary or agenda is to link the subject with one of these words. It is not necessary to prove that these words actually apply to the adversary, with propaganda you only make the accusation and repeat it until the public links the adversary with the evil word.

The wannabe tyrants have invested considerable time and money to make the word “RACIST” so dreaded, feared and terrible. They have been so successful that is only necessary to mention something in the same sentence with the word racist to demonize it.

These 2 must have studied Joseph Goebbels. Mr. Geobbels instructions on propaganda:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,
people will eventually come to believe it. The
lie can be maintained only for such time as the
State can shield the people from the political,
economic and/or military consequences of the
lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the
State to use all of its powers to repress dissent,
for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie,
and thus by extension, the truth is the
      greatest enemy of the State.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah it is all racist to the left. I snowed a lot this winter because of racism. It is supposed to rain today and tomorrow here. It is must be racism to have rain on the weekend. All the minorities look so forward to the weekend and the man makes it rain just to spite them. The left works very hard to expand the divide between the races. If we all just along Al will be out of a job and have no source of money.

Vouchers are a threat to Sharpton’s constituency in that they would significantly reduce it. That’s why he and the other fiendish race pimps are outraged. Please tell me America is in the process of sweeping all this non-sense away so freedom and prosperity can return in this great land!!!!

VOUCHERS FOR ALL STUDENTS: to be used in the school of your choice. If you want to stay in public schoo,l fine. YOUR CHOICE. Make public schools compete a little. Maybe quality would improve. If you want to send your kid elsewhere or home school, YOUR CHOICE. I don’t get the racism part except that seem to be the liberal mantra these days, ever since WE the people have been complaining about how poorly this administration is doing. As far as inner city families not being able to use vouchers, you can make the same argument for poor white kids of uneducated parents who live way out in the country where there aren’t many choices, either. Nothing racist, just a fact.

Actually that is an insult to the movie, “Dumb and Dumber.” I wonder if either of them have ever spoken to anyone who took part in the bussing programs of the 60‘s and 70’s and asked them if it was a benefit to have an extra long school day to get a better education. Have they ever spoken with anyone who has partaken of the school voucher program or followed up with those students to see where they are now? Have they ever stopped and figured out who/what has consistently led the fight against voucher programs everywhere in this country? Of course not, since their pockets are lined by the same unions which have so stridently fought against the program.

Cherished Emblems, no vouchers are the answer, public schools are spending close to $15k per kid per year, give parents $10k, save $5k and give it back to tax payers to grow the economy. In most of the country you can send a kid to a private school for $5K, put the extra $5k in a college fund, and your kids college is paid for, and with a nice chuck left over for a down payment on a home once they graduate.

What arrogance to be able to determine what all the students in all the inner cities will do! He’s already decided the issue. Isn’t that called being a dictator?

Actually, he‘s dead wrong because it’s the parents that decide whether to fill out the vouchers or not, not the students.

“Life’s tough. It‘s even tougher when you’re stupid” – John Wayne
Do yourselves a favor and never refer to Sharpton as “Reverend”, he is nothing of the sort. He only sees people in colors and has one he hates; whites. This man is one of the most racist in the MSM. Do yourselves another favor; never use the word “reverse racism”. It implies only whites are allowed to be racist as if they have a monopoly on it. Racism is RACISM no matter who spews it.

What about the DC kids who got their vouchers taken from them by Obama? Were these not inner-city kids? It was one of the first things he did. They were allowed to finish the current school year, but were unable to use the vouchers the next school year. I‘m sure it was boon for the DC teachers’ union.

Um….. The facts are the exact opposite of these two a$$clowns statements. In DC, San Antonio, AND Milwaulkee, the voucher program pilots were OVERWHELMINGLY utilized by inner-city and minority students. In San Antonio, it DOUBLED parental satisfaction with the quality of their children’s education. In DC, the voucher families rallied and protested when congress and Obama stripped them of their freedom of educational choice.
Vouchers have worked everytime and everyplace they have been used, and do a better job of racial and socio-economic integration than the public schools do. Read the research and get a clue Al!

Wont use them? What? They were using them in DC until that program was killed for being too successful. Face it our government is trying to keep us dumb. Why else would they have passed “no child left behind” to make all the smart ones have to sit there and do nothing all day, while little Johnny learns how to add 2+2.
