This Is the Play That Got Lions Player Ndamukong Suh Ejected

Ndamukong Suh is known as one of the dirtiest players in the NFL. During yesterday’s Packers-Lions game, he may have just proven why. And it might lead to another fine – and possibly a suspension.
During the third quarter of the game, Suh lost his cool. He was subsequently ejected for bashing the head of Evan Dietrich-Smith into the ground, then stomping on his right arm. You can see the play below:
Suh insisted he didn’t intentionally step on the opposing lineman with his right foot, saying he was just trying to separate himself from the situation.
“I apologize to my teammates and my fans and my coaches for putting myself in a position to be misinterpreted and taken out of the game,” Suh said.
He added: “My intention was not to kick anybody, as I did not, removing myself. I was on top of a guy, being pulled down, and trying to get up off the ground — and why you see me pushing his helmet down, because I’m trying to remove myself from the situation, and as I’m getting up, I’m getting pushed, so I’m getting myself on balance.”
But that wasn’t all he said:
ESPN NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert called Suh’s explanation and defense, “delusional:”
Thursday will go down as the day Ndamukong Suh lost his innocence. No longer can there be a reasonable debate about the style and intent of his play, much less his comprehension of its consequences, not after his game ejection and subsequent explanation after the Detroit Lions’ 27-15 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The entire nation watched Suh pound the head of Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith into the ground three times and then stomp on him as the two were separated. Many of you saw his postgame comments, a scary mix of manic sentences and paranoid conspiracy theories that suggested the gulf between Suh and the NFL’s accepted way of life is widening rather than closing here at the end of his second season.
Even Lions coach Jim Schwartz, one of Suh’s most reliable defenders, offered a measured response. “Regardless of our intent,” Schwartz said, “we can’t put ourselves in that position.”
It’s going to be difficult, if not impossible, for Suh to shed the stigma of such a visible incident. If you didn’t think he was a dirty player before, you’re going to have a much more difficult time not believing it now.
Dietrich-Smith wouldn’t say it was a dirty play.
“Stuff happens,” he said.
Green Bay defensive end Ryan Pickett was more outspoken.
“There’s no place for that,” Pickett said.
ESPN notes Suh’s history:
For Suh, it was another data point in the growing discussion about whether the 6-foot-4, 307-pounder plays dirty. In less than two seasons as a pro, Suh has established himself as one of the game’s strongest and most athletic defensive linemen, but he’s also received his share of fines.
Suh requested and received a meeting earlier this season with commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss his play. He said that dialogue was helpful, but now the league will have to decide whether more discipline — be it a fine, a suspension or both — is merited in this case.
Suh wasn’t the only one to get thrown out of the game. Earlier in the game, Packers special teams man Pat Lee was ejected for scuffling with two Detroit players on a punt:
The Packers, however, took advantage of Suh‘s misstep just as they did on Matthew Stafford’s three interceptions.
John Kuhn followed nose tackle B.J. Raji for a 1-yard TD plunge after Suh was flagged on third down, and Green Bay turned Stafford’s interceptions into two TDs and a field goal.
Detroit became the NFL‘s first team to win three games in a season after trailing by 17 points with Sunday’s comeback win over Carolina, but the Packers proved they weren’t as vulnerable as the Panthers.

If not and I was the coach I’d say until you act right you are not playing! It’s not a black thing, many players act like this. Most are pretty good guys though. My problem is the NFL will fine ppl for “excessive celebration” which is the dumbest thing the NFL has ever done, but only fine guys like this dude when he needs to be kicked out and never let back in.

The problem isn’t just in the NFL, ever hear of flash mobs, did you miss the 50 “youth” in Maryland last week who took their culture into a 7-11 and enriched society for all to see on video. Not all dirty players are black but at some point society is going to have to confront and deal with the rather unique nature of blacks and whether they are going to ultimately be able to integrate into what in prior times could be referred to as gentile society. The West is committing suicide importing vast numbers of minorities who however nice they may be are not going to change, they are bringing all of the problems seen in their lands to the West, and that will sorry to say ultimately destroy the West. Islam is the numero uno problem, minorities with differing levels of civilization abilities is a close second.

That is one reason why I don’t watch football. The hatred of Whites by Blacks in our society manifests
itself in sports. You see it all the time, if you watch.
I noticed that by the early 70′s (when I still watched football), that Black players would generally celebrate enthusiastically when a Black player makes a good play, or scores a touchdown. Usually two or three blacks will surround the Black scoring player. Not so much when a White scores, though.
It’s still that way! Nothing has changed.
Players should be told at the midget football level that “if you get into trouble with the police or in repeated trouble at school” that your football-playing daze are done. We have seen the results of not following that policy for way too many years.
This Detroit player, Michael Vick, so many others are the result of wanting to throw away moral values.

Some douches are gonna make this an issue of where you were raised and your skin color come hell or high water. That’s what racists and bigots do whenever they see an opportunity such as a minority acting out in public or unsportsmanlike in a football game or whatever , because no one wants to hear that garbage in the course of everyday life. Lets ignore this and concentrate on the big picture and how we can make the NFL even more attractive to advertisers such as Tampax. Maybe a post game hug between the coaches. Even better, lets not keep score. Everyone should get a ring at the end of the year for trying their best. If this keeps up Suh will be too depressed to play and then what?
On another note, those yellow flags flying around the field and the public singling out of individual players for alledged violations and giving a “penalty” right in front of millions of people has to really hurt the players feelings. They should take the player aside and explain the situation in private.

Pro football has always had its share of “dirty” players. When I followed it from the late 50′s till around 1980, there were guys that would try to intentionally hurt guys.
Nowadays, I just “keep up” enough to have an understanding of the current state of the sport.
Sorry to say , but football has its problems. I saw an article in a San Diego paper 2/3 years ago that had a listing of the arrests of football players since 2000. There were 500 listed! That was not the entire amount, however, as some charges were dropped for various reasons.
The problem doesn’t stop at the “professional” level, however. We see more major college programs drop or suspend players for various reasons. The problem seems to lie in the recruiting of players who, while having the ability to play the game, are sadly lacking in social skills. Many come from neighborhoods where family/moral values are non-existent, and bad behavior from these players are covered up to keep the football team competitive. Money is a main factor.
The problem goes deeper, and exists in HS and even Midget football programs. Players need to realize at a young age that if they get into trouble with the police, or at school, that they will not be playing football. Is that hard to comprehend?
The Detroit player should be excused for the remainder of the year, and allowed to play next year only condidtionally.
I won’t even go into Penn State and their will to win at all costs. Case close
