Posted on August 23, 2011 at 4:45pmWith all of the speeches the POTUS has been making in the past month, I wish he would have been in the middle of one today in DC when the quake hit.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 4:56pmVery smart man. He must have some survival training. You can‘t help others after a catastrophe if you’re buried in rubble. Don’t ask questions, don’t question yourself or follow the heard. Know your exits at all times no matter where you are. I’m thankful that no deaths have been reported yet.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 5:46pm@restored one —- Actually it would’ve been funny if Obama was making a speech at the time and again we saw the Presidential seal fall off of the podium again….
That seal wants to get as far away from Obama as possible…..

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:51pmI once heard a man tell a story of his experience in the woods using his “thunder mug” I wonder if this quake was as strong as the thunder mug blast.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:48pmOkay I watched this not to see the earthquake but to try and find out what the heck DSK is. Will people please stop abbreviating everything. This is supposed to be a news story headline not a text. It‘s 1984’s newspeak even on the blaze. Not all of us live our lives caring a rat’s behind about what goes on in the cesspool of New York City so we may be somewhat oblivious to what DSK actually stands for. I only posted this because there have been other headlines that use initials for things that aren’t common knowledge to the whole world so please blaze think about that before you post your headline. Thanks

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 5:01pmJCLDWL – DSK refers to that Frenchman Dominique Strauss-Kahn , formerly head of the International Monetary Fund) who was up on a sex charge in New York city and, it seems, has just been let off the charge.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:57pmNow see, I thought the gals on stage ran like frightened children when nothing was coming down around them. But….I’ll give them a pass, most people have never been in an earthquake before. But running when you don‘t know what you’re running into, is just silly. Stay calm, assess the situation and then respond rationally, and people around you will quit their panic too.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:38pmWhat America has been spared is now coming home to us. We are seeing what the rest of the world has been experiencing. American quakes will get worse and we will be cut to pieces for our stand against Israel. Thank BHO for throwing this nation under the bus.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:43pmI agree with the latter (2012). As a native of California, 5.8 is not that impressive. But it’s a great Tuesday afternoon wake up for the east (other left) coast.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:51pm@Sweet Gold: I keep trying to tell you Californians that it’s all relative. We don’t get 6.0s back here. We aren’t use to it. As Joe might say, this a big blanking deal for us.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:30pmAttention Late Night or Tonight Show:
Tonights joke should show the president playing golf (putting) and the ball just miss the hole and hang so gingerly on the cup. All of the sudden the earthquakes hits, the ball falls in and the president or his advisors congratulate him for…oh, say moving the heaven and earth to sink the putt.?
This man can do anything!

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:38pmOr he has a put right on line and the earthquake hits and he misses it. You know after that he would have a press conference blaming it on George W. Bush and the TEA party.

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 3:18pmPffft, having lived in L.A. and Tokyo, I’ve seen more than my share of earthquakes. What was revealing was how all those bureaucrats scrambled like rats. I felt the jolt. It triggered a cat stampede, but wasn’t enough to get me out of my comfy chair.
