This Steeplechase Race Involves One of the Funniest Bloopers You’ll Ever See

Here’s a tip (free of charge!): if you’re running a 3,000-meter steeplechase, don’t trip. Otherwise, you’ll slam into a barrier.

“I was seeing stars,” BYU senior Katy Andrews writes on her YouTube page, “I smacked my head and my thigh. The head bled; the thigh bruised.”

Andrews definitely deserves some credit: she not only uploaded the video to YouTube, which shows she’s a good sport, but she also managed to do two more laps before her coaches made her take a knee, which shows she’s made of fairly tough stuff.

But most importantly, she gave us a good laugh (and that’s what really matters). In fact, let’s see her dive from a different angle:

A photographer captured the moment, frame-by-glorious-frame.

“I just happened to be there with a GoPro HD Hero 2 waterproof camera shooting video for a review I’m writing of the camera,” Jaren Wilkey writes, “and it caught the whole crash.”

Good for her,” writes Deadspin’s Dom Consentino.

Actually… not that funny. I felt bad for her… sure that smarted. Usually like slapstick people walking into thing kind of stuff. But didn’t work for me here. I suppose our sense of humor is different for as all… and at different times. Oh well.

Yeah, who’s wrote this headline and who approved it? C’mon Blaze, can you please take it up a few notches? This looks like the work of a tawdry, insensitive tabloid.

I ran that race and I’m glad that no videos have shown up. Took a bath as well. Really cooled me down though. Keep going Katy.

Another fine example of the laws of physics at work.
Maybe the people at BYU should invest in some padding or re-think this stupid event.

C’mon Blue Eyes. The steeple chase is not a BYU event. It is an international sport.

I‘m glad she didn’t really hurt herself! I would have thought that kind of hit would have knocked the wind out of her and that’s sickening and painful when that happens.

Odd, I”ve made the same comment three times and it keeps getting removed, Guess we’re not allowed to comment about what”s funny. It is not one of the funniest bloopers I”ll ever see. Sorry if that”s offensive.

      YA, not funny.

It was more education to try to run it in slow motion. She saw it. She prepared to jump. Then I think she hesitated.

Sometimes baddoggy we need to laugh. I read so much news that I am pretty much saying screw it our nation is lost. The news doesn’t always have to be serious. I appreciate The Blaze tossing out light hearted items every now and then. Laugh now, because we sat in the ever heating pot too long and soon there will be nothing to laugh about.

Go stick a fork in your eye. People like you make me sick. Who the hell gives you the right to speak for anypone else? If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Don’t go around dictating terms to a website you get to check out for free in the first place when the rest of us might not have any complaints about the content, you jerk.
