Threatening Notes, White Powder Sent to NYC Banks on Eve of May Day Protest

Envelopes With White Powder Sent to New York BanksNEW YORK (The Blaze/AP) — Police say the white powder contained in several envelopes that were mailed to various bank branches in New York City turned out to be non-toxic.

Police say seven envelopes were sent Monday to several Wells Fargo branches, a JP Morgan Chase branch and an office building. Telephone calls to Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase were not immediately returned.

Police say the suspicious envelopes caused evacuations of several bank branches, but no injuries were reported. Police had no suspects.

“This is a reminder that you are not in control,” said a message with the enveloped, according to ABC. “Just in case you needed some incentive to stop working we have a little surprise for you. Think fast you have seconds.”

“Apparently, the message was aimed at the mail room workers among the ‘99 percent,’” New York police spokesman Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne told ABC.

The envelopes were sent on the eve of planned May Day protests around the country.

Bill Dobbs, a spokesman for Occupy Wall Street, said the prank had nothing to do with their protest movement. He said the incidents distract from the May 1 events.

Still, the police believe the envelopes were intended to arrive on May 1 but got there early.

“They underestimated the efficiency of the U.S. Postal Service,” one official told ABC.

The May Day protests planned by Occupy Wall Street are set to be massive. Movement officials in Seattle already fear violence, while New York City is dealing with threats from Occupiers to shut down bridges and tunnels.

    I moved my banking to a small community bank. OWS had absolutely NO influence on my decision to do that.

    Harmless protest, take it to the banks, its working people are moving their accounts and taking their business to small banks which is why the big ones are laying off people while the smalls ones a hiring people. big banks and big corporations will fall if they do bad business with the people.

    And the banks will close out of fear because we have no real men left in this Nation. We all have to die sometime. But the panty waists will shut the doors and call HAZMAT for safety…and they will fimd a pile of flour or baking soda. The police state will have gotten stronger because now they will need more funding to protect the banks from those evil sinister teenager numbskulls…The police state gets stonger and it is the GESTAPO all over againg.

    Understand clearly, these are attempts of domestic terrorism and intimidation; they are psychological opeations made to instill panic and chaos, disruption and pressure on the institutions thus threatened and on the population at large.

    Look back to the Anthrax mailings and combined with the Beltway Sniper chaos; imagine scenarios such as those occuring in many states simultaniously and the social disruption created; with added pressure on major cities such as by Obama and commie cronies on Chicago in regard to the upcoming NATO meeting.

    The final fate of our nation shall be decided before this month is out.

      Anyone that thinks that this is about communism is ignoring the both the facts and history. This is all about Sharia which is Fascism. Like the Nazi’s they have ethnic cleansing in mind on a global scale. Like the Nazi’s they hate communist even though they are both products of extreme forms of leftist thinking. Like the Nazi’s they will not hide in the shadows and play games when the time comes. The Brotherhood is getting funding from our president and they are more welcome here than the Jews are. Our government has already started playing for the wrong team. Look at how religion and morality are being attacked. I think that the communist had a plan but I think that it has failed or been postponed. The real threat is among us in our media, our food, our government, and our minds. All I can say is take a good look at the facts and decide for yourselves what is simply a distraction and what is really a threat.
      Btw, corps sex is freakin gross man, do you realize that a person will always soil themselves upon death as the muscles release.
