Three Face Prison Time Over $1 Million Toilet Paper Scam in Florida

Three people are facing up to two decades in prison over a $1 million toilet paper scam in South Florida.

Federal prosecutors say the trio duped elderly customers into buying unnecessary septic products, in some cases more than 70 years worth of toilet paper, the Miami Herald reported.

Salespeople for FBK Products allegedly told more than a dozen victims they needed to buy the company’s special toilet paper to avoid ruining their septic tanks, claiming the federal government had changed regulations on toilet paper.

They said the company was affiliated with the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Herald reported, and even claimed one product — the $199 Septic Remedy treatment — would eliminate the need to have tanks pumped.

Victims were also told that they needed special soap, detergent and toilet paper or their septic tanks would not pass federal inspection, prosecutors say. The federal government does not regulate septic tank products.

The three pleaded guilty in federal court last week to conspiring to commit wire fraud and will be sentenced in February. Three other employees are awaiting trial.

How does the government get the moral authority to put any scam artist in jail after sponsoring green jobs, stimulus spending, selling fake Global Warming legislation to save the planet and printing money out of thin air? I don’t doubt that they got the idea of flushing paper down the drain from the FED. Jailing these people is a grotesque failure of the concept of social justice.

Always a new tax. Our county now has to have GOVERNEMENT EMPLOYEES come out and inspect your septic tank once a year at a cost to you of $75. For no other reason than to get more money out of your pocket. We live in one of those states that has no state sales tax. They tax for everything else. I have a few chickens for eggs for my family. I get TAXED for each chicken every year. A couple of goats to keep the weeds down, I get taxed for them, because I don’t go and buy TAXED Gasoline to mow the weeds instead. Property TAXES are already high. DOn‘t think because you live in a state that has no state sales tax that you’re getting something for nothing. In many cases it’s worse.

Hey NotEnlightened, they are called paying advertisers, you know those people who pay so ‘The Blaze” can operate and you can come on and advertise your ignorance. Ain’t capitalism grand.

Glenn does not force anyone to buy from these advertisers; it is not a condition to participate. In addition, he also says all these may not be right for you; that you have to decide to purchase. The only reason you are saying Goldline is a scam, is because they are advertising with Glenn. Otherwise, you would not have an issue. So take your fake outrage and use where someone cares.

As someone who spends a lot of time in the forest I can tell you from personal experience not to use smooth rocks (picture in your mind using a trowel to smooth out some fresh concrete), rough rocks like decomposing granite (it will feel like you stuck you wipe area under a sun lamp for 4 hours later that day), last years old crumbling brown leaves (imagine a salted nut roll with broken up leaves instead of nuts smeared to your wipe area), pine cones ( even “with the grain” it’s worse than a cheese grater), plastic bags. A universal truth is if you get any on your finger you will shorty afterwards get an eye itch and you’ll use the wrong hand to scratch you eye.

We should all give thanks that we still have a paper industry than can turn out this product in a variety of textures and performance! We are lucky they didn’t ship that industry offshore, say to France, where they use little single-ply, waxed-paper panels with splinters in it!

So the government is going to put the three in prison for “decades” and we the tax payers are going to support them, while the elderly victims are just going to have to suffer. No way have the three manually clean out each and every septic system of each and every owner they cheated. Work days and spent night in jail. That way don’t just sit around all day and night and the people they cheated get something back.

Gosh, why couldn’t I think up something like this! What a wonderful idea! It‘s almost as good as the ’air cleaners’ advertised on overnight TV. They’re basically sanitary pads that you clip to your ceiling fan blades. As they ‘clean’ the air, they eventually get dirty and you replace them! I think you get a set of 8 for $20, PLUS SHIPPING AND HANDLING! The instructions probably tell you how fast to run your fans to keep up the replacement rate, without slinging the components all around your house! Hoo-ha, what a great idea!

And, then they might pass a law that you can only buy GE refrigerators! (I swear, I really liked George Bush, but he really pulled a ***** on this one! Speaking of lightbulbs, we‘ve only got about 35 days left to stock up on real lightbulbs before they’re all snatched from the store shelves and we’re forced to buy the toxic, short-lived, inefficient “green bulbs”.
I’ve got about 20 four-packs so far, and I’m buying a lot more before the January 1st deadline. Because a lot of people will wise up at the last minute and try to grab as many as they can, and you won’t find them anywhere.

A recent letter from the county says $2000. It has something to do with the “Bay Act” and non-perking land. I’m shopping around.
