Tim Pawlenty Glitter Attacked By Liberal Protestors in San Francisco

Is glitter the left’s new tool to combat conservative values? Following Newt Gingrich’s recent bedazzling, Tim Pawlenty is the latest Republican to fall victim to being “glittered” by angry protestors. The former Minnesota governor was signing books at the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) convention (where he also delivered a health care speech) in San Francisco when two gay rights advocates ambushed him. Politico has more:

A pair of women dumped pink glitter and confetti on the governor demanding “Tim Pawlenty, where is your courage to stand? Stand for reproductive rights! Stand for gay rights!”

    You know how nut-jobs tend to copy each other. I think it would behoove all candidates to rethink their personal security during the campaign season. Sitting down at a table in a public venue makes you a pretty easy target for glitter… or something worse. These gals should have been decked and cuffed by those security bozos. Assault and battery are not elements of free speech. Protect yourselves, candidates!

    It’s all about sex with these people. They never grew up (mentally) beyond 9th grade. They are replaying their adolescent years over and over until they grow old and die.

    And why can we throw water in their face or something? I’m getting sick of our side “playing by rules”, ie., acting like adults, when overgrown children get away with this behaviour. Time to start treating them like children.

    It is so terrible to think that people believe that it is courageous to stand for “reproductive rights”, but, apparently, cowardly to stand up for the rights of the unborn. They think it is courageous to stand up for adults that have already made their choices, but not courageous to stand up for innocent, unborn children who have never had the privilege of making any choices. We live in a sad, fallen and broken world.

    I believe that gov. Palwenty does have the courage to stand. He stands for the life of an unborn child and stands for the natural, man and woman instead of the unnatural. And as long as he continues to stand for that which is right and correct then i will continue to stand with him.

Could you imagine if we shrunk the federal govt. and gave states the rights guaranteed by the constitution. the country is so polarized I belive the only solution is to give states the rights to govern themselves, keep their tax money and let the libs and fruitcakes go live in the states run by their ilk. I guarantee in no time the states run by the Pawlentys, Perrys and other fiscally conservative govs. would have to protecr their borders once the handouts ran out. The left lemmings could never survive on their own.

      It’s spelled San Fransicko. The fact that TP chose to go there at all casts serious doubt as to his fitness to be President. That he did not have the assailants arrested for battery, which is the correct charge(making a threat is assault, striking or hurling as object(regardless of object) is a battery) yields further doubt as to fitness to be C in C. Not even going into TP and his flip-flop on global warming. Yes he cut spending, but other than that I see a Republican establishment RINO. That is not viable this time.

    Gays already have equal rights. Same as all of us.

    What they truly want is Superior Rights, meaning deviant behavior has more rights than “normal” people. Normal people must celebrate their abnormal behavior whether we agree with it or not. From my observation being gay is the least of their psychosis. Most have other deep seeded issues that affect their thought processes.

      We want to pray freely when and where we want – that is freedom.
      We want the govt out of our businessess – that is freedom.
      We want the govt to stop wasting our money – that is freedom.
      They want to get married to each other – that is freedom, too.
      I don’t have to approve of their lifestyle, but I do have to respect their freedom to live as they choose.

But wait a minute…when my son was born prematurely (when a late term abortion would still be legal in many states), he didn’t look like a mass of tissue. 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 nuts and a weiner. He was breathing on his own within the first minute. He took a bottle within the first half hour. How can a non-living mass of tissue do that?

      @gail – I live in Minnesota. Tim is NOT a wussie and I assume you are a Minnesotan because those outside the state would not call him T-Paw. In fact it is usually those on the left that call him T-Paw.

      Tim did a very good job of keeping the left’s habit of spending in check during his years as governor of Minnesota. I didn’t llike his stand on the green economy but he seems to have moved away from his push toward that. I would feel very comfortable voting for him or Michelle Bachmann for President. Either are a huge step above Obama in many, many ways.

      Please you wimps, that is not assault. The people here calling that assault are the part of the reason that this country is going down the drain-the perversion of the true meaning of words. Assault is when you inflict BODILY INJURY on another person. Throwing confetti on someone is not assault.

      This has me worried. We are very close to giving the green light to the sodomites and other assorted perverts when DADT is ended in the military. It does not take long for one to figure out that I am very conservative. I would hate to have some little light in the loafers soldier come up and sprinkle the glitter stuff on me. Would not look good as a field grade officer to show up at a command and staff, looking like a reject from a Peter Pan movie.

      From the legal dictionary… “An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm.”

      So, one does not have to “inflict BODILY INJURY”… Only a threat of bodily harm with ability to cause the harm…

      Learn your facts before you call others out…
