Times of India: ‘Obama Acknowledges Decline of US Dominance’

Are America’s best days behind us?
That seemed to be the message presented by President Barack Obama during a town hall-style meeting he held Sunday in Mumbai, India. The Times of India picked up on the underlying message of Obama’s remarks in a story headlined, “Obama Acknowledges Decline of US Dominance”:
Implicitly acknowledging the decline of American dominance, Barack Obama on Sunday said the US was no longer in a position to “meet the rest of the world economically on our terms” …
Obama, who just lost control of the House of Representatives to the Republicans, unbashedly said the objective of his visit was to find jobs for his voters. “I want to make sure we are here because this will create jobs in the US,” he said, but stressed he was for a kind of relationship which will create jobs in India as well. As he put it: “A win-win proposition.” …
While replying to a question on how Republican gains would affect US policy towards India, he switched to a larger exposition of how he saw new realities shaping geo-politics and the economy. Saying the competition from India and China was potentially a good thing, Obama suggested that the US had to face up to a changing world order.
“I do think that one of the challenges that we are going face in the US, at a time when we are still recovering from the financial crisis is, how do we respond to some of the challenges of globalization? The fact of the matter is that for most of my lifetime and I’ll turn 50 next year – the US was such an enormously dominant economic power, we were such a large market, our industry, our technology, our manufacturing was so significant that we always met the rest of the world economically on our terms,” Obama said. “And now because of the incredible rise of India and China and Brazil and other countries, the US remains the largest economy and the largest market, but there is real competition.”
“This will keep America on its toes. America is going to have to compete. There is going to be a tug-of-war within the US between those who see globalization as a threat and those who accept we live in a open integrated world, which has challenges and opportunities.”

I really don’t blame Obama for being what he is, the evidence was all there during the campaign there were just too many people either too lazy or dare I say too unintelligent to actually see him for what he is. The President should ooze American Exceptionalism, yet treat all others with respect and dignity. What’s even worse, is that the majority of people who voted for Obama have no idea what he says and does on a daily basis (unless its covered on the Daily Show)- they unplug from reality until election time.
I am embarassed by our President, and I never thought I would say those words. I‘ve always been one to respect the office of the President even when I don’t agree with his policies, but Obama has absolutely no respect for his own nation, therefore I refuse to give him an ounce in return.

Obama, the great scholar that he is, decided to declare that Athens was not the birth of democracy, and that France had no hand to play in democracy being delivered to the USA…….. obviously, seeing as how he stated that the USA is the worlds oldest democracy………play back, and note that you could have heard a pin drop in the room, and the look on Obama’s face when he realised his speech writer was about as intelligent as a 5th grader, although, i’m sure the 5th grader would have known that democracy was birthed in Athens, not the USA.
He did a lot more damage in the speech,.mostly to your economy, by attacking China’s position in the pacific region, where trade and investments are concerned. China has already warned the USA that it can and will sink aircraft carriers, if the USA continues to create instability in their economy or regional seas. I would be even more worried now, considering Obama just cut china out of the global investment strategy they have been working on for the last 20 years at least.
Obama is an outright traitor to your nation, a threat to your national security where economic warfare is concerned, and an outright liar when it comes to policy debate.

China needs to be brought under control now, sooner rather than later. While I know Obama would go about it wrong, the fact is that we cannot continue down this anti-industrial course, expecting China to pick up the slack, and think that we won’t be financing our own doom a few decades from now.
Me, personally, I’d de-unionize as much as I could, eliminate 95% of EPA “regulations”, eliminate the bogus “interstate commerce” infringements on free trade, eliminate corporate taxes as much as possible, eliminate the personal income tax and many other taxes, stand back and watch as America takes off on a journey of innovation that will take us to the stars. China need not apply to even be considered to watch us, under that scenario.
What we’re doing now with China is national suicide.

There’s no real grasp of American history, of its truth; there’s no pride. There’s only an underlying submission to the world that “American exceptionalism” is dead . . . But tragically, with Obama, it never existed. And then, it’s far too similar to liberals claiming that the era of Reagan was dead leading up to 2010 but is now beating them over the head with the harsh realities of an awakening to the full understanding of where liberals desire to reposition America in the “new world order.”
There is no better proof than this demonstration, of its standing on its own, that Obama is simply bad for America’s future no matter what he says or what he does leading up to his repositioning for 2012. The depths of these words, of his anti-America beliefs, are just far too significant . . .
Even more, that Obama is going to retain any power and influence for two more years as we adjust to this world market of competition, as we ramp up to face it and overcome it, watching him manage the decline of the dollar is like having to run a marathon with a piano strapped to your back.
