Today’s the Day Herman Cain Is Launching His Campaign for President

ATLANTA (AP) — If there is an early crowd favorite in the Republican race for president, it may be Herman Cain.
The businessman, author, talk radio show host and tea party darling knows how to wow a conservative gathering. Now the 65-year-old Cain will try to see if he can use that grass-roots enthusiasm to turn a long-shot presidential campaign into a credible bid.
He plans to announce his candidacy at a rally in Atlanta on Saturday, an announcement that’s hardly a secret.
Cain has been crisscrossing the country for months now, his intentions abundantly clear.
So are his views, espoused for years on his radio show and in speeches. He supports a strong national defense, opposes abortion, backs replacing the federal income tax with a national sales tax and favors a return to the gold standard.
He’s never held elected office, having lost a three-way Republican U.S. Senate primary bid in Georgia in 2004 with a quarter of the vote. His “Hermanator” political action committee has taken in just over $16,000 so far this year.
Cain says he’s running “a bottoms-up, outside-the-box campaign.” And supporters say he taps into the tea party-fueled desire for plain-speaking citizen candidates.
“I just love him,” gushed Laura Miller, a self-described “Cainiac” from Jessup, Ga. “What he says makes so much sense.”
Born in Memphis, Tenn., and raised in Atlanta, Cain is the son of a chauffeur and a maid. He attended historically black Morehouse College, earned a master’s degree from Purdue University and worked as a mathematician for the Navy before beginning to scale the corporate ladder. He worked at Coca-Cola, Pillsbury and Burger King before taking the helm of the failing Godfather’s Pizza franchise, which he rescued by shuttering hundreds of restaurants.
He burst onto the political stage when he sparred with President Bill Clinton over the Democrat’s health care reform plan at a 1994 town hall meeting.
“On behalf of all of those business owners that are in a situation similar to mine,” asked Cain, “my question is, quite simply, if I’m forced to do this, what will I tell those people whose jobs I will have to eliminate?”
Republican Jack Kemp described Cain as having “the voice of Othello, the looks of a football player, the English of Oxfordian quality and the courage of a lion.”
In 2006, Cain was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer. He says he’s been cancer-free since 2007 and credits the nation’s health care system with keeping him alive. He says it‘s one reason he’s so passionately opposed to the federal health care law championed by President Barack Obama.
At a speech last week in Macon, Ga., Cain gave a glimpse of the rationale for his candidacy, arguing that the American dream is under attack from runaway debt, a stagnant economy and a Democratic administration forcing a legislative agenda citizens don’t want.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 10:43amI love it! Even if Herman Cain doesn’t win the primary, his presence completely takes the wind out of the sails of the leftists who try to derail any real discussion of the issues by saying, “You only hate Obama because you can’t stand the idea of a black man in the White House!”
Reply: “Then why did I vote for Herman Cain? Now, can we finally talk about the issues, please?”

Posted on May 21, 2011 at 9:58amOn the Bret Bair roundtable last night, Herman was dismissed by Krauthammer and was neutrally reported by another as the most conservative candidate in the pool. That’s all the final confirmation I needed. And the support for a return to the gold standard answers the question of those raised about his position on the FED. It has been made abundantly clear that true conservatives are not liked by the Republican Washington elite.
GO Herman, Go…we have your back!

I can only pray that this nation will return to its roots and perform the punishments enacted by our forefathers. We NEED leadership and Cain made that point clear! He does NOT use a teleprompter to read his positions and he espoused them clearly. While he may not have all the correct plans, he intends to turn this country over to “We the People” and that is good enough for me. He has thought about changing the current and past policies on taxation and foreign policy and energy independence and healthcare as well as tax and spend by returning the country to cutting the budget so that income can determine what we spend. What more can we want? No matter where he is on the rest, he is WAY BETTER than what we have! First; he is a capitalist and NOT a socialist Marxist! What more needs to be said. Let this man choose his running mates and advisors, just support him. I am also glad he is NOT a seasoned politician, neither was Barry by the way! Go Herman Cain!

At this time there’s no one on the national scene that fulfills these specifications. No RINOS allowed!

I hate to repel people with the opening line but my god where did this hatred of our own race come from? I mean there is a literal hatred and willingness to deny our own race among our very own people. It took some slick Propaganda to bring about this sort of self hatred.
Whites need to be proud of their race and even unify around it. You have been deceived in a major way.. While the Internationalist preach and demand Diversity and Multiculturalism in order to destroy the White race they all realize that all other races remain Unified.. and are allowed and encouraged to celebrate the Unity..
I realize this sort of discussion is so repulsive to Whites today but you’d better stop and think about it.. If this Experiment fails and it will there’s no going back. It’s over for the White race. Has anyone even considered the fact that the White race is a Minority on the Planet? Who more should celebrate our race than Whites? We should be proud or our race and speak glowingly about it…

To suggest that someone will be a single issue voter, over the Federal Reserve, which over the years has got us into the debt/deficit problem, is not bad.
In fact, that “single issue” is the most important decision in the upcoming years.
Why you may ask? Well ask yourself what kind of results would occur in the United States if the dollar collapsed.
Let me guess though, you would rather spend time considering candidates who “sound the best”.
This, again, is why our country is going to hell.

We need true Americans of any color or sex to run. I prefer Bachmann but Cain is interesting too.Is Bachmann white enough for you? The only white men running are RINOs. So drop the race card or I’ll begin to think you are just a liberal troll in conservative clothing.

Posted on May 21, 2011 at 1:11pmJohn 3:16: I prefer Bachman over Cain as well. She even ridiculed our involvment in Libya which I greatly appreciate; however, Ron Paul is probably the only Constitutionalist in the Republican Party running for President. I may be mistaken but I think Bachman voted for the anti-Patriot Act. The more I look at that legislation the more angry I become. It’s really obscene and any Constitution loving American should be ashamed of themsleves for willingly given consent to such perverted legislation.
Race Card: It’s not about playing the race card. Cain is actually my 3rd favorite despite his term as Fed Governor and his support of that wicked organization. I don‘t particularly care about skin color myself either but I’m not ignorant of the games which are being played. It’s really becoming heart rending to me see our white youth grow up with no idenity even having come to the place where they oftentimes desire to act black and the issue is actually much larger than that.. I sit and watch every race under the sun being encouraged to celebrate their ethnicity at work except for the World’s true minority. If we even mention it we are practically tar and feather and maybe even fired for being racist.. While I don’t care for race issues per say Race may be the biggest issue out there. Only Whites are not allowed to discuss it and if we dare well you know…

I don’t want to hear what Herman Cain has to say. He worked for the Federal Reserve just like Tim Geithner and he said it doesn’t need to be audited, and that we should call them and ask them what they do with our money (as if Ben Bernanke has ANY credibility whatsoever)…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caeNXivEGEg
He even DEFENDED the Fed.
He then went ahead and FLIP FLOPPED on his stance, AFTER Ron Paul gained steam with the Ron Paul Revolution and the Tea Party Movement, and even THANKED Ron Paul for his push to audit the Fed and end the Fed…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2Mqie_h9uU
He totally obfuscated and tried to meander towards Ron Paul’s stance.
Ron Paul is the LEADER who offered bills every time he is reelected to Audit and END the private Federal Reserve Bank, only to be defeated by progressives.
Herman Cain also supported the Big Bank Tarp Bailout.

Posted on May 21, 2011 at 5:07pmHerman Cain has been, and always will be, my favorite choice for President ever since Mike Pence decided instead to run for Indiana Governor. I LOVE my Sacred Hero Allen West, but I’d rather see that Great Man sit in the SecDef seat.
Report Post »I know the arguments against Cain, no political experience, but think about this. As a former corporate CEO, he KNOWS his job is to listen to his vice presidents and board members for advice and decide, as a leader, the best choice given his suggestions. Also, as he has epiphanies and ideas, he presents those ideas to his ‘cabinet”, listens to their advice, and makes the right decision as A LEADER. He understands that as president, whatever is his whim can, and should be declared law by executive order, is so blatently UNCONSTITUTIONAL and illegal is wrong. Yes, he was involved with the Fed, but you can look at that as a positive. if he has seen the inside of that secret organization, and does something to clean that rat’s nest out, then that experience is a bonus.
I love him, I love the “Fair Tax”, I think he is exactly what this country needs to get back on track. He is smart, he has wisdom, he has a plan in place, one in which I agree with.
Give him a fair chance in the coming debates, and see if you don’t agree with me.

NOW I know why reading your posts leave a bad taste in my eyes. You are a white supremist. Did it ever cross your pathetic mind that we, white, God fearing tbagging nazi racists could consider the content of one’s character instead of who is the best white canidate? This isn’t white guilt considering canidates based on affirmative action, but rather our two favorites are the most competant and patriotic canidates among the field? I thought not.
Report Post »You can live in this fantasy world that whites are the supreme race, and you as an American have the right to choose whomever canidarte you see fit, but know that if you are a part of the problem, and help elect a socialist-lite like Bush Jr. or McCain, then you reap what you sow. Get smart an see each canidate for their merit. And choose wisely, because this may be the last time you ever get to vote in a primary if obama is somehow re-elected.
