‘Total & Utter Failure’: Watch This British Politician Mercilessly Berate EU Leaders

Speaking before the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, leader of the UK Independence Party Nigel Farage used his time to do what he does best: verbally savage the eurozone leaders responsible for keeping the 17-nation union on the road to financial ruin.

“Another one bites the dust. Country number four, Spain, gets bailed out and we all of course know that it won’t be the last,” Farage said.

“Though I wondered over the weekend whether perhaps I was missing something, because when the Spanish Prime Minister Mr. Rajoy got up, he said that this bailout shows what a success the eurozone has been,” he added.

(Related: ‘Making the Situation Worse’: Jim Rogers Explains Why the Spain Bailout Is the ‘Most Insane Thing’ He’s Heard)

Indeed, since announcing the massive, multi-billion euro bailout, the Spanish Prime Minster seems to be laboring under the delusion that all is well and that the worst of the eurozone financial crisis has passed. In fact, he has gone so far as to say that “this matter is now resolved.”

“And I thought, well, having listened to him over the previous couple of weeks telling us that there would not be a bailout,” Farage continued, “I got the feeling after all his twists and turns he’s just about the most incompetent leader in the whole of Europe, and that’s saying something, because there is pretty stiff competition.”

Farage wasn’t finished. He was just getting warmed up.

“Indeed, every single prediction of yours, Mr. Barroso, has been wrong, and dear old Herman Van Rompuy, well he‘s done a runner hasn’t he. Because the last time he was here, he told us we had turned the corner, that the euro crisis was over and he hasn’t bothered to come back and see us,” Farage said.

“I remember being here ten years ago, hearing the launch of the Lisbon Agenda. We were told that with the euro, by 2010 we would have full employment and indeed that Europe would be the competitive and dynamic powerhouse of the world,” Farage said.

Total & Utter Failure: Watch This British Politician Mercilessly Berate EU LeadersConcerned EU politicians hang on to Farage’s every word.

“By any objective criteria the Euro has failed, and in fact there is a looming, impending disaster,” he added.

The British leader continued:

You know, this deal makes things worse not better. A hundred billion [euro] is put up for the Spanish banking system, and 20 per cent of that money has to come from Italy. And under the deal the Italians have to lend to the Spanish banks at 3 per cent but to get that money they have to borrow on the markets at 7 per cent. It‘s genius isn’t it. It really is brilliant.

So what we are doing with this package is we are actually driving countries like Italy towards needing to be bailed out themselves.

In addition to that, we put a further 10 per cent on Spanish national debt and I tell you, any banking analyst will tell you, 100 billion does not solve the Spanish banking problem, it would need to be more like 400 billion.

And with Greece teetering on the edge of Euro withdrawal, the real elephant in the room is that once Greece leaves, the ECB, the European Central Bank is bust. It’s gone.

It has 444 billion euros worth of exposure to the bailed-out countries and to rectify that you’ll need to have a cash call from Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy. You couldn’t make it up could you!

Running out of time, Farage ended with a strong warning: “It is total and utter failure. This ship, the euro Titanic has now hit the iceberg and sadly there simply aren’t enough life boats.”

We don’t need current leadership to wake up we need them to be gone. Ideologues will never do what needs to be done. They would rather see ruin then govern in a different way because to do so is to admit defeat and failure of their entire way of thinking and seeing the world. Which is akin to the naked emperor anyway.

All I can tell you “IS” it “IS” my humble but lovable opinion that the EU could not have succeeded. It just wasn‘t ’economically’ sound in its foundations. It could have lasted longer, had the economy remained in good unadulterated condition.

But the truth “IS” that governments are not about to leave a good economy alone. All they see “IS” revenue ‘enhancement’ (tax increases) and spending (pandering) programs.

When the economy looks ‘good’ governments see bulging pockets.

Astute. Yep. If they were hard-left enough, they’d be going to war to keep it all going, as that’s the only thing that would keep their country united under the current leadership and taking things from their neighbors is how Germany kept their economy propped up during WWII.

If the Nazis or the Communists gain more power in Greece, we might see a replay.

Is there any chance that Mr. Farage could speak to a combined Senate and House session? If he did is there any chance that his message would sink in? Would those exalted politicians even come close to realizing that the USA is going down the same path? The greatest question is, even if they heard and understood the message, would they have the courage to fix the system?

He schools these Socialists every time he speaks (the truth) and they can just sit there and cringe, and throw insults into the wind. The European people have been trained to ignore this kind of thinking. The American people are not far behind. If Romney spoke like this man does, he would probably be soundly defeated. He is a smart man and he has a track record of actually fixing things that are broken, not just saying the words but actually making the hard decisions and taking the hard actions that turn organizations around. I believe he will do that when he is elected. It is part of his nature and he will be unable to stop himself, he will have to fix the broken federal government.

I was hoping that the Chase CEO would call those Senators on the carpet when they hauled him in front of them to explain his $2 billion error. He didn’t. He let those hypocrites who lose more than $2 billion a day of taxpayer money pretend to know more about fiscal responsibility than he does get away with calling him on the carpet. I agree with many of the comments here, if there aren’t enough we the people to stand up and take these Marxist/socialist/progressives on and remove them from office we are not far behind Greece and Spain and the rest of the EU. It does make a person scratch his head though, why is it that President Obama can see what is happening in Europe and that green energy boondoggles and entitlement policy have done to these countries but he still wants to double down on those exact same policies here. I don’t think he is that dumb, I think he must want what is happening in Europe to happen here.

The Tea Party element has gotten very good at weeding out and blaming a lot of the RINOs but there is not enough focus on the real problem… the American people. It is we who have failed, not our leaders, our leaders just represent our lack of courage.

It’s the age old problem. When gov’t gets too big, it spends more than it takes in, and has to do something. In the old days, it was debasing the currency, ie, less precious metal in the coin. Then, when paper became cheap, they added paper with value to the money supply. Then they decided to completely debase the currency and not use precious metals at all. Now they are not even bothering to use paper- just a few keystrokes at a computer-Socialistshitholia gets another gazillion Nothings (N) to give to Communistshitholia, who got a computer stroke credit for a gazillion Nothings (N) and spend all of that. It’s all an enormous ponzi scheme. Farange is right, and all of the others are acting like the Capt. of the Titanic-when faced with his ship sinking and thousands of deaths that were his fault, he went into shock and mentally shut down. They are already planning to prevent movement of (soon to be worthless) money and (soon to be starving) people across their borders, which will inevitably lead to yet another war in Europe. This time with pitchforks, because all of Europe let us defend it for 60 years and spent their military budgets on welfare programs, so the one german tank without any gas will face off against a french deux cheveaux with an antique machine gun and the Fiat Panda with a broken bb gun will be changing sides daily. Rather than face that carnage, Europe will decide that the only viable alternative is to loot the US, ie, we bail them out. Yet Aga

The Lisbon Treaty was the worse thing that ever happened to Europe. To be united, you must all speak the same language, have the same kind of lifestyle. There was never any hope of that happening there. Why would the Italians concede their language to the Germans? Why would the Greeks seek to work like the Brits? They wanted to create a mixing pot that consisted of oil and water.

It’s one of the reasons why the founding fathers expected everyone in this country to speak the same language, to have the same laws to live by. So when you introduce illegal foreigners that have no intentions of doing the same as you, into your country, problems are created.

LOL, I am not going to give it a rest. You are right he is going to surprise a lot of people. Those people are sheep like yourself. You see him as some kind of winner when all I see is a weak flip flopping patsy.

Even if he wins we lose.

Yep, the euro is the Titanic and the liberal eurotrash leaders are too busy rearranging the deck chairs to notice what’s ahead.
