‘Tough’: Rahm Emanuel Releases First Video Ad in Chicago Mayoral Race

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the first Rahm Emanuel campaign video would be called “Tough,” right?
I guess that’s a soft kind of tough. With a great Obamanian straw man moment — yeah, there is a big contingent arguing to make Chicago a “second-tier city.“ But this whole ”tough” thing doesn’t seem to square with the current Politico take: “Nicer Emanuel woos Chicago voters”:
CHICAGO — Rahm Emanuel has a message for the voters of Chicago: No more Mr. Tough Guy.
The brash Beltway dealmaker—who was toiling as President Barack Obama’s chief staff six short weeks ago—officially announced his bid for mayor Saturday in a packed elementary school gym on Chicago’s north side, showing his softer, emotional side in an event that sought to downsize one of Washington’s biggest personalities for a local audience.
It’s not a problem that two “prominent African-American officials” just announced their candidacies, is it?

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 3:08pmRahm Emanuel may not be a full fledged gangster but he knows a few. Rahm Emanuel may not be a communist but he knows more than a few. Chicago, in tradition, is corrupt and Rahm Emanuel will continue the tradition of almost gangster and almost communist. Axelrod will join him very soon and Chicago and it’s good people will suffer the red-scare right in Chicago.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 10:34amIllinois is such a corrupt state it elects Pat Quinn as governor, barely, and what does this nitwit do-he raises taxes-just as Illinois sinks into the financial abyss. Rahm Emanuel is nothing but a sleazy, Chicago politician and if they elect this creep Chicago will get what they deserve. They need Chris Christie type person to come in and clean up the cesspool that is Chicago-start with the bribes, the payoffs, the crooked judges, the rigged elections, the black-white divide that is the “elephant in the room”, the union payoffs after each election which are bankrupting the city, state and country. Some selection Emanuel or a list of others on the take-can’t they do better?

how did they ever manage to pay off the RULES, he didn’t live there for the required time before campaigning.
Chicago is either ghetto thug blacks or its rich white along the coast. those blacks are going to be torn in half who to vote for, as he‘s obama’s boy and there are actual true Chicago blacks running against him.

This man would not truly soften up if you threw him in a dryer with a box load of Downy!. He is from the Obummer admininstration and did everything he could against America. The terrorist trials, New York mosque, hearings on corruption, letting off the Black Panthers, etc. He is evil and should not be elected DOG CATCHER!!! The dogs deserve better and so do we in Chicago. The Daleys were bad enough.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 6:28amYou can bet those are union people surrounding him, or maybe some of his thugs. Votes will be bought, no doubt, and I hope they spend a fortune and he loses. If you read “The Case Against Barak Obama”, they will probably follow their usual m.o. of finding (or making up) dirt on his opponent so he/she can’t win. Hope his opponent is prepared.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 2:44amChicago doesn’t “elect” anybody. There hasn’t been a legitimate vote here in my lifetime. The people aren’t to blame for the state of politics in Chicago. The failure of the justice department to properly investigate and prosecute corruption is at fault.
Which is exactly why I think the first act of the newly elected house should be enacting serious laws regarding voter fraud and election manipulation. Until we start seeing serious action in this direction then voters in places like Chicago have no redress. Their votes are invalidated by fabricated votes to counteract them.

Well guess that means the cat is out of the bag – and the rats are about to devour it completely fur and all. Once again the Obama administration demonstrates total cluelessness in the ability of their image perception. Mr Emanuel is basically calling himself Mr Whimp.
Go for it Whimpy, go for it!

He has been involved in Chicago city politics for as long as I can remember and is partly responsible for many people moving out of the city to the suburbs! Lived there too long in the suburbs because only the very wealthy could afford to live in the city while they supported the poor as well as themselves! Used to be an amazing city, but it ceased being so because of politicians like this “nutcase”! WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE WAKE UP!
