I don’t know about you, but if a 2-ton animal were charging at me, I don’t think I would be laughing.

Posted on February 6, 2011 at 5:13amThis is obviously a hoax. Everybody knows that Hippo’s died off along with the Polar Bears zillions of years ago from Global Warming.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 1:36pmI viewed a video of one these river horses protecting the corpse of it’s dead mate. The hippo bit a crocodile in twain that had become just a little too curious. There is also evidence that hippos are omnivorous and will eat meat. Not to be trifled with.
Report Post »The collective interpretation of hippos is filtered thru Disney (and Hollywood in general) a la “talking animal movies… ‘cuz animals are people, too!” We have popular culture to blame for our ingnorance and naivete. Going into hippo territory is like keeping a pet chimp. What could go wrong? Watch the National Geographic Channel and learn something as opposed to the laughably named The Learning Channel.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 11:32amThese hippos probably wouldn’t be so angry if there was social justice all over the world. They‘re angry because they don’t have guaranteed healthcare. Right? It’s white Americans to blame again.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 9:32am@ Darmok and Jilad at Tanagra….. I freaking loved that episode!!! Great name Sir….
As too the hippo’s , It never fails to amaze me how people will even get on the water in Africa…. Crazy!! Do y’all remeber the story a couple of weeks back , when a tour guide was snatched out of his little kayak by a large croc , like the trout I fish takes a fly….. I’ll keep my bear and mountain lions thank you very much!!!

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 9:24amI always wondered where the Liberals like Pelosi, Reed, Soros, etc. have their secret meetings. Bathing in a resort location while plotting to take over the world. . . and they paid for it with tax payer’s dollars.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 7:45amHippos are responsible for more human deaths than virtually all other African species of animals. The morning is most dangerous after they spend the night feeding out of the water. Humans that block the path back to the water from the grazing area are at great risk. Like most mammals, mothers with calves are particularly dangerous.
Report Post »During the day they lay about the water…no sympathy for anyone that get in there. Even the crocs get out of their way.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 4:05amI just don’t care about hippos swimming about where hippos usually do. If someone invades their hippo territory, then they must acknowledge that they have invaded hippo territory and suffer any consequences that come their way.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 8:32amYes Diane same here,When people decide to invade Hippos territory they are asking for trouble,I have no desire to go camping in Mt. or Wy. in a tent in Grizzly bear territory,or swim in and around sharks but the people that do are asking for trouble.

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 5:59amHippos are the deadliest animals in Africa. They are fiercely territorial and are responsible for more human deaths than all other African animals combined. (Not including malaria spreading mosquitoes.)

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 6:13amIt’s a fact that more people are killed each year by Hippos than any other wild animal. Their enormous size creates an ilusion that they are slow lumbering beast. Howver, they can reach incredible speeds on land in just fractions of seconds. In the water, their agility is incredible. Hippos should always be given a lot of space and it’s good to remember that they ALWAYS have the right-of-way. Ha
