Trayvon Martin’s Autopsy Revealed Injuries to His Knuckles — Potentially Supporting Zimmerman’s Defense

Trayvon Martin Autopsy Results Show Knuckle InjuryThe autopsy on Trayvon Martin revealed injuries to his knuckles, a potential boon to George Zimmerman’s claim that he shot the unarmed Florida teen in self-defense.

Orlando’s WFTV-TV confirmed Tuesday the autopsy results on Martin showed the skin on his knuckles was broken — details that comes alongside a new medical report that said Zimmerman had two black eyes, a nose fracture and cuts to the back of his head after the altercation.

“It goes along with Zimmerman’s story that he acted in self-defense, because he was getting beaten up by Trayvon Martin,” WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer told the station.

Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara declined to comment to WFTV about the autopsy evidence.

Zimmerman has said that before he shot and killed Martin, the 17-year-old punched him and broke his nose and knocked him to the ground.

The broken skin on his knuckles and the fatal gunshot wound were the only injuries the autopsy report showed.

Still, Sheaffer said there could be another potential explanation: “It could be consistent with Trayvon either trying to get away or defend himself.”

Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in Martin’s death.

    Personally, I have a hard time seeing how Martin could have been acting in self-defense if he had no injury other than the knuckles and the gunshot. If he’d been bruised at least there might be reasonable doubt but the autopsy revealed no other injuries.

      This thing will run its course and in the end there is going to be a huge lawsuit for this political witch hunt that has no basis at all and someone is going to be rich and that’s the name of that tune.       If you have a hard time seeing it, all you have to do is put yourself in his place: it was a rainy evening; you are walking through a strange neighborhood; you notice a strange, large man is following you; you are speaking with your girlfriend on the phone, and she recommends that you run away, which is what you decide to do; even though you are running away, the stranger runs after you; at one point, he stops and is talking on the phone … he pauses and turns. Who is he talking to? What are they planning? You begin to panic. QUICK: WHAT DO YOU DO? Some of us would have continued running, and perhaps called 911 along the way. But remember: you are a 17 year old male, an age group that is not known for reacting with logic and instead relying on impulsiveness … so you decide to pre-emptively attack the man who is following you.

      It was all just a horrible misunderstanding that resulted in the loss of an innocent life. But it could have been prevented if Zimmerman had merely called 911 and not provoked Martin to fear by following him.

      Wow Suzanne, where do you get your facts from? I have no doubt that Martin was probably ill-advisedly followed, and maybe he even felt threatened by Zimmerman. Even if you want to try to make the case that given this was justification for tackling Zimmerman and thrashing him, it still doesn’t make Zimmerman a murderer.

      Creating supposed facts will not get to the truth and they can be dangerous because some people believe everything they read and don’t know that you are either ill-informed speculating or just making it up to fit your conclusion.

      Zimmerman was on the Phone with 911. I think you may be mixing up the two. Wasn’t Martin also really tall. How many 6′3″ Hispanic/americans have you seen? Just saying get your facts straight. It was Zimmerman who called 911 telling them he was following. Then Martin Dissapears supposedly. The next thing you see is someone 6′ 3″ Martin fists punching your face. The next thing he’s on top of you slamming your head into the sidewalk. I‘m not sure but I’d probably have done the same thing if someone was punching me and slamming my head on the sidewalk. But the one thing I wouldn’t have done is follow the person. Lets say Zimmerman didn’t have a gun and was just walking home behind someone. That person runs around the building and the next thing punches you in the face and starts slamming your head on the cement. What would you do if you had a gun, and didn’t have one? What? I know if it was me I’d probably use it. So is it self defense? Didn’t Zimmerman try to go back to his truck? Before I’d fine this man guilty, I would want to know the facts! Blood splatter, how close he was to his vehicle. The path where Martin disappeared and reappeared. How many times did I hear on other News Stations that people said Martin had no injuries, and zimmerman had no injuries. Who was it that was saying Martin didn’t have any injuries on his hands? Well Now we know the truth. Next day you go to a family doctor. PTSD, he refers Ears Nose Throat doctor. Not Vise

      Ya know, if there are “autopsy facts leaked”,… The ones I would LOVE to see, would be the results of his hair follicle and body fluid samples detecting any and all drug use for the past few months…. ( oops!, even a “leak” could NEVER disclose those findings..That would be “racial profiling of an innocent little black boy”. who, by the way, is over six feet tall, and almost 200 pounds…. bless his little innocent heart.

      A much bigger man? You gotta remember one thing… those pics the media keep showing of trayvon are from back when he was 12 an 13 years old… Trayvon had grown up and at the time of his encounter with Zimmerman stood at 6 foot 4 inches tall…. Trayvon was the larger man in this altercation.
      Also, he wasn’t running away. He specifically told his girlfriend, No, he wouldn’t run.
      The media is manipulating this story to make Trayvon look like a cute little innocent kid with candy… Fact is he was a big black dude wandering around a neighborhood late at night for who knows what reason… And this big dude tore up his knuckles on Zimmerman’s face…. managed to give Zimmerman two black eyes, a broken nose, and a head bashed repeatedly into the concrete… Those are not the defensive actions of a scared boy…

      If there is anything we can learn from this tragedy is that: Neighborhood Watch participants should always have some kind of clear and well-seen identification on their car or on their person while patroling a neighborhood. Did Zimmerman have anything to signify that he was a neighborhood watch participant. Maybe it would have changed the dynamic. I believe what happened was that Trayvon Martin was freaked out ( it is possible he was stoned which can heighten a sense of fear because he had mariquana in his system), so while Zimmerman was on the phone with cops, Martin hid behind something, and so when Zimmerman got out of the car to look for him, Martin assumed he was being targeted so he jumped Zimmerman. So the second thing we learn from this tragedy is that violence is never a way to settle a dispute or perceived danger unless you have all the facts. If Martin had simply asked Zimmerman what he wanted, Zimmerman would have told him that he was part of the neighborhood patrol, Martin would have explained that he was in the neighborhood to visit his father, and it would have ended there. A tragic event that deserves to have something good come from it.

No one ever said the Kid Martin didn’t try to defend himself against the adult Zimmerman. The question is why Zimmerman left his car and how he confronted a kid. You can’t claim self defense or stand your ground within a conflict you initiated. If Zimmerman did get the crap kicked out of him by a kid who weighed 70 lbs. less than I guess he really did need a gun. Shooting a kid because he punched you is not a reasonable action. Zimmerman‘s lawyer’s attempt to have him look smaller by loosing weight will hopefully not fool the jury, once they are reminded of a situation where an adult followed, confronted, fought with, shot and killed a kid who was minding his own business. But of course wearing a hoody and packing skittles is clearly a threat to Zimmerman and the community.

      If we’re going to pursue a line of pure speculation, which is exactly what you’re doing here, let’s look at the other alternative, equally as likely: Trayvon was walking through the neighborhood, a neighborhood his father did not live in, because he was casing houses for burglary. Trayvon had already burglarized several homes in the area. He was a felon, and when asked what he was doing in the neighborhood, he engaged in felonious assault. It was when he tried to take GZ’s gun that it escalated to a life in death situation. In the end, the thug assaulted the wrong guy.

      Just as likely a story as your tripe.

      I don’t care if I am 23 (Zimmerman) if I’m only 5 ft 10, I am not going to confront anyone who is over 6 ft. Treyvon is not some sweet little kid. He’s a lot taller. Zimmerman’s problem is he thought it would only be words. He wasn’t prepared for some macho young man who thought he was bullet proof and decided to whoop a$$ on someone who dared to ask him what he was doing. And Zimmerman doesn’t even look white. This was all to fan the flames of racism and nothing more. Reverse the rolls, and have a 17 year old white boy who is over 6 ft tall, and a black man who is 5 ft 10 and I’d feel the same way. Problem is, if it had been reversed it never would have made the news.

    Let’s not forget the basics here…innocent until PROVEN guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is the standard by which our judicial system is supposed to work by…and it does in over 99% of all cases.
    The 1% that runs against that is when the media with an agenda creates a situation where it convicts people without facts using racial prejudices and political bias. So far it appears that the facts slowly trickling out do not support the medias racially prejudiced conclusions…
    Facts are the only thing that you can trust…not politicians or those who have political or racial motives that only promote themselves at the expense of the majority of the public.
    Holder has turned the DOJ into a racially biased federal agency…which makes him a bigot by his actions and words…

      First thing, above all I am here to survive people. With that being said I am thinking given the extent of the injuries sustained by Zimmerman If it was me I would have shot him.       What should be revealing to anyone that goes to another site that’s reporting on this such as a WCBS site, the comments are overwhelming against Zimmerman, and are vehement. It really shows how effective brainwashing can be. I mean, it’s perfectly already for someone to sit back and wait to see and hear the evidence when a case comes to trial, that’s fair. It’s also understandable for someone to form an opinion based on facts, even distorted facts such as the media usually presents. However, to now be presented with news that Zimmerman had two black eyes, a broken nose, etc. while an autopsy shows Martin had bruised, skin-broken knuckles, and still believe what has previously been fed truly shows the effects of brainwashing, which the media is doing on a daily basis. As soon as the November elections are over, congress should hold hearings on this conspiracy of the media against We The People.

      When Zimmerman walks and he will his next step should be huge civil lawsuit against the media that doctored and edited evidence to make him look racist. After that he needs to follow up with a criminal conspiracy lawsuit for the multi-media outlets working together in an attempt to remove the chance of him recieving a fair trial by tainting the jury pool.

      I think he probably has a good case for suing MSNBC. THat would be my next move after the trial. It wasn’t just bad reporting, they purposely edited material to MAKE him look guilty and to stir up the racial hatred for him. I would sue MSNBC for all they have (a few other networks too) and use the money to move to a truely gated community with armed security.

US neighborhood watch claims he was acting on his own personal initiative, was untrained, and was in violation of neighborhood watch practices. Real registered watch standers agree to be trained, and agree in writing to be the alert eyes and ears of the community, but they are never to follow, and absolutely never to carry weapons.

    Sadly, the press has tried and convicted Zimmerman. His life will never be the same. If he is found innocent, the black community will go crazy across the country because of the press coverage of this. If he is found guilty, he will be killed in jail. Sad. Very sad. Justice is motivated by the press and politics in this instance. Justice will not be blind in this matter.

    Trayvon was a product of the American black hood lead by al sharpless, messy jackson and the satan worshiping jer wright. He got what he deserved and most of these low life gangster deserve no better as they perpetrate crimes against white Americans that go unnoticed and unpunished. The stupid American Blacks are doing the EXACT same thing to whites that they were supposedly fighting against. Ironic, but that would require these dirtbags to know what the word ironic meant. I blame the welfare gimme state. Generations of losers and takers sucking out of the system. The pendulum will swing back the other way eventually then all these gangsters will pay.

      @ MARVLUS: Did you see Trayvon‘s Mom’s ” Mother’s Day Video “? The photos of Trayvon showed a cute, young little boy. Propaganda ! How about showing the 6 foot 1 inch, lean and muscled young gangsta’ with gold teeth and an attitude ? Now we have the autopsy results and the truth is beginning to emerge.     What kind of drugs were found in the blood. If it were possible, a hate crime should be charged to Martin. Most of what I have read shows that he was a bad actor.

    This case is so politically charged that I get the feeling that the judge will probably deny this information to be heard by the jury. At least in the court room.

    unfortunate but true, you start beating some guy you have the potential to be shot. teach that to your kids will you? all those young guys filled with testosterone ready to be scrappy need to know grown ups may be packing heat. not all of us are pushovers and some of us don’t need our fire arms to put you 6ft under. Prayers for all in this case. I couldn‘t imagine losing a child but please federal gov no hate crime charge mr zimmerman doesn’t need his life further ruined by this it is obvious to all not blinded by color that he was defending himself.
