Trayvon Martin’s Parents Commend Rep. Rush After He’s Yanked From House Floor Over Hoodie

Just hours after Rep. Bobby rush (D-IL) was yanked from the House floor for violating rules by wearing a Hoodie during a fiery speech, the parents of slain teen Trayvon Martin have responded. And they’re applauding the move.

“First of all, I’d like to commend Congressman Rush for pleading our case,” Martin’s father, Tracy, told the Washington Post. “My question would be, why wasn’t Congressman Rush allowed to address racial profiling?”
“He should have been able to express– this is a country of freedom of speech. He should have been able to express what he really felt,” he added later.
The parents also said they met with Rush yesterday to discuss racial profiling:
The answer to Tracy Martin‘s question seems to be that Rush wasn’t barred from talking about racial profiling because of the topic, but rather broke the House rules against wearing hats by donning the hoodie. That’s not an affront on free speech, but rather enforcing the rules of the chamber that all members must subscribe to.

I don’t see their argument of racial profiling. If there were two people, one non-black (since Latinos are crackers now) and one black – both dressed in hoodies (just to make it equal) – and he chose to follow the black suspect – perhaps we could talk racial profiling. In this case, there was only one suspicious person.
I was not there and neither was most everyone else. We do not know the details. Let the system work – investigate – trial – outcome
Oh yeah, if the outcome is not what you want, please don’t burn the city.

I have never been profiled, pulled over by police because of a hoodie. When its really cold and i have gloves on you cannot even see if I am old, white, black or purple.

Even if “racial profiling” took place, it would come out in court and be addressed, again no reason to get congress involved. It‘s very difficult to argue that this was racially motivated when Zimmerman’s head was being pounded into the pavement by Martin (and verified by an eye witness), Zimmerman embraced his latin heritage and mentored black children. If that’s a racist then he needs some tips from Farakhan and Rev Wright about how racists really should behave. I‘ve listened to Martin’s mother speak. Acknowledging her distress..she doesn’t come across as a very bright woman. I’m not surprised the Pantomime performance of Rush appealed to her. Visuals and symbolism seem to be mean more to her than the facts (a perfect encapsulation of the left in general). Yes…I realise I’m speaking about a grieving mother right now. I would go as far as to say that Rush is by his theatrical performance, simply fanning the flames of the racially charged mob hysteria demanding Zimmermans already beaten head on a pike.
