‘Treasonous in Its Actions on the Border’: Beck‘s Passionate Interview With Imprisoned Border Agent’s Wife

As the Blaze recently reported, Jesus Diaz, a former U.S. border agent, is serving a two-year prison sentence after being accused of using excessive force in handcuffing a juvenile drug smuggler back in 2008. Diaz’s detention, which has come under fire from many who believe that he isn’t guilty of the violence charges waged against him, has become a hot-button issue.

This morning, Glenn Beck interviewed Diaz’s wife, Diana, on his radio show to get the entire story, and by the end he was visibly frustrated.

But before delving into the video of their exchange, let’s review some brief background information on the case.

Diaz, who is now imprisoned and separated from his wife and six children, was found guilty of inflicting pain on a known 16-year-old Mexican drug smuggler in an effort to obtain more information about where marijuana was being hidden. Authorities also claim that the former agent kicked the teen and dropped him face-first on the ground.

But these accounts and the charges associated with them have come under fire (GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has said she would work toward Diaz’s release). The Examiner has more about the confusion surrounding the case:

According to the Law Enforcement Officers Advocates Council, the government’s case is based on false testimony that is contradicted by the facts. This includes the charge that Agent Diaz was physically abusive to the then minor “MBE” as noted by court documents and transcripts that Diaz allegedly put his knee on his back and pulled back on his handcuffs.

“However, given the time of day during the incident, October 16, 2008 at about 2 a.m. and lack of lighting it would be impossible to have actually seen much if anything. The agent who stood next to Mr. Diaz, Marco Ramos testified that he did not see anything that was claimed to have taken place,” Andy Ramirez, president of LEOAC explained.

A web site has been setup to advocate for Diaz’s release.

In the beginning of his discussion with Diana, Beck said, “I’m sorry for what this government is doing to you…your family and your husband.” Diana went on to explain what seems like a tragic story of justice gone awry.

The Mexican government had apparently filed a complaint following the incident, which the U.S. government then acted on. In the end, the 16-year-old avoided detention and was apparently sent back to his homeland. Even more bizarrely, Diana claims that the young mas was brought back to America to testify (with immunity) against her husband.

“Rick Perry’s done nothing,” Diana explained. “He said that it was a federal issue and as a governor he couldn’t do anything.” To this, Beck had plenty to say.

“I don’t believe that injustice is a federal thing. Injustice is a people thing. When there is an injustice going on, even if you’re the governor, you get involved with injustice and you stand one side or another,” he responded.

Radio co-host Pat Gray weighed in as well, questioning why the government would allow for Diaz to be separated from his children, when a strong stance has been taken against separating illegal parents from theirs.

Beck concluded: “This government is treasonous in its actions on the border. There is something going on and they are using innocent border agents to make some sort of point to the other border agents, ‘Shut up and sit down.’ … It’s obscene what is happening. It embarrasses me to be an American. What’s happening on our border embarrasses me as an American.”

    Follow the money – whose getting paid?; where are those millions of cartel moneyy coming into the US going – to whom?; DEA and ATF are complicit – so is Homeland Security – follow the $$ – follow the $$$ – follow the $$$$!
    Right now – I can’t understand why ANY Border Agent doe not quit. If I knew I would be set up by my superiors and did not have the upper management protecting me from insiduos lawsuits, etc – then there is no way I’d stay on the job. Your just setting you and your family up to be the fall guy.

      How can we allow the federal government take down our guards at the border. Another reason why a fence would work. The next president needs to release them first thing and praise them for the work on the border.

      I agree with Beck and the right wing on this one.And the dept of justice is treasonous in asserting they have no intentions of enforcing illigal immigration laws but rather will harrass states who do. This is a violation of their job to uphold the constituion from which anti illigal iimmigration laws stem from. Theis is treason and tyrany. Obama who does not rein in his attorney general is equally guilty. it’s one thing to send in the national guard in states that do not enforce federal laws[civil rights era] but now we have a reversal of roles-the federal government refusing to enforce federal laws and then going after states who try through state laws to acomplish what federal laws which have not been enforced -were meant to do. Outrageous tyrany.grounds for impeachement if ever there was.Enough to make me join the tea party.

We need to right this injustice and show our corrupt government the REAL power of the people. $10, $20 times thousands of people, plus pressure, pressure, pressure will hopefully get the job done; plus get the point across to ALL govt officials that THE PEOPLE are going to start taking down corruption WHEREVER we find it.       Almost every report of this I’ve seen says the same thing: no marks on the kid, came down to a “He says one thing, he says another,” decision. This is actually the -first- article I’ve read talking about the boy getting kicked and thrown face-first into the ground; the others only mentioned him being pulled up by the handcuffs (which left no bruises).

      I’d like to read more about the case itself, including what evidence the prosecution brought. Right now I’m believing the border guard much more than the prosecution.

      I don’t buy it for one minute that there is nothing that Rick Perry cannot do about this. While it is true it involves the Fed. Government it also involves Federal abuse of a resident of Texas. Perry could bring great attention to this and shame the Obama administration into action. Perry if he was anything but a Globalist who is all for illegals and open borders, could be bringing this issue up every time he steps before a camera. Perry is big time just more of the same and anyone who supports him is basically just voting for Obama with more executive experience.

      Rick Perry, as Governor of Texas, is directly responsible for allowing such a travesty of justice to occur on Texas soil under his executive watch. And if he border governers would act properly according to nature of today’s Fed, there is a chance Jesus would never have fallen in with the Feds in the first place. Why?

      Governor Perry, as commander-in-chief of the states military, has both the right and duty to see his States borders protected from invasion, and if done competently, there would be no legitimate complaint from other states of the union that might lead to a need for federal intervention on their behalf.

      Instead, he chose to outsource the duty to the Fed agency, which indicates incompetency due to gross ignorance, as the knowledge of the Fed’s competency in this regard is no secret.

      By abrogating state duties to the Fed, Perry, and other governors, empower the Fed parasite to feloniously con men like Jesus by misrepresenting the true nature and terms of his employment, which is ultimately to serve their ulterior unconstitutional agenda, and take a fall.

      If each border governor took responsibility, the fed would be lack one avenue for their felonious activities, and perhaps men like Jesus could be hired in a border state to do the righteous job they were originally looking to do.

      This isn’t about payoff or money going to judges or even the DEA or border patrol. This is political corruption at it’s best. This is what happens when you allow illegal sympathizers to gain jobs in high political positions that are supporters of the illegal invasion of our country, and Obama is to blame as much as Bush probably Clinton as well was to blame, there were several similar incidents like this where good agents were charged (going all the way back to Clinton) and put in prison for trumped up illegal charges against our agents. And if you think the influx of “illegal immigrant sympathizers” into our system hasn’t damaged it, just wait until the 50 million illegals that have entered our country start getting jobs in the justice system. The Mexican way of doing business is corruption from the top down and it’s only the beginning. Now you only see it on the border but the whole justice system will be like Mexico’s soon where any police stopping you on the street will be expecting a payoff or bribe and if you want anything done legally or have to stand before a judge you will be expected to pay.       Recently I decided that I could do something as an individual. Heritage foundation and Freedom Works are good places to contribute but I would offer up twice as much as I currently do If there was a way to hold the administration accountable to the constitution in the courts. I would feel like something was finally being done to protect and defend our America. Any lawyers feel like a worth while fight????? Bring suit and I’m guessing there would be dollars in support coming your way……

      This deserves a bit more investigating. I don’t jump on any band wagon when it comes to Police, border agents, sheriffs. dhs, IRS, anyone with a badge. More often than not they are abusive and overreach their authority. Just type in Nazi road block on you tube and watch the taped abuses, imagine if some of those folks didn’t have the camera rollin. I don’t repeat any of them. I have had police out and out lie about traffic tickets as an example. Thats my take. If he’s innocent let him go.

      Bushes cronies did the same thing when border agents shot a drug runner in the rear end.The drug runner got immunity to testify aganst the border agents The agents spent almost 2 yrs in prison for doing their jobs!Its almost like Mexico has something on our goverment and our president whoever it is is going to give in and kiss mexicos asses!I think if Americans knew what was going on they would kick all the bums out of washington!

      For ROSE ELLEN …. You are right, Rose Ellen. But (and I almost feel like I’m “beating a dead horse”, here), the most important ramification of the President and his lackeys refusing to enforce/comply with the U.S. Constitution is Congress’s refusal to attend to its own responsibility. And that responsibility involves implementing an impeachment investigation of Barak Hussein Obama for his illegal, traitorous, and dictatorial actions. Yes, the current Senate would never follow through with a trial, but that’s irrelevant. Non-revisionist historical records should still show that, at the very least, an impeachment investigation was conducted by the House of Representatives (just like done to Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton).

      I’ve been a constitutional conservative, registered Independent, for most of the past 46 years, forced to vote for Republicans (while pinching my nose closed). It is because of Republicans like those controlling the current House of Representatives that I won’t join the Republican party. And my U.S. Representative (James Lankford, R-OK) is one of those who brayed loudly how he would be at the head of the line to repeal obamacare and enforce immigration laws. But after being sworn in, he clarified he‘d be Boehner’s lackey. He’s currently rated C-minus by NumbersUSA – and that’s probably a lttle high. He answers no letters about Agenda 21. There’s more, but now I have a headache realizing Lankford will be re-elected.

      Nothing or no one can convince me that when the most powerful nation on earth claims they can not seal the border or deport the 30+ million illegal aliens who have invaded our country you know darn well everyone, on both sides of the border, from some of the corrupt border patrol agents up to and including the White House are sharing in the multi-billion dollar a year drug industry profits.

      Diaz, Hernandez, Ramos and Compean the murdered border agent Brian Terry and others are merely their collateral. GWB, Alberto Gonzalez, and Johnny Sutton deserve a special place in Hell for dealing with the devil (Vicente Fox) by offering Ramos and Compean up to him as human sacrifice. The blood of Brian Terry and the tears shed by the Diaz family are all over the hands of Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano, John Morton, Thomas Perez and Obama.

      This incident is an absolute disgrace. Perry has been fighting with Obama for the past 3 years. He is correct it is a federal issue. I would petition my congress representatives and asked them to pressure Obama. A Governor has limited power to influence anything like this incident.

      Obama is just the front man. If 100′s of thousands called everyday…something would be done…I only know several hundred people who I could get to do it, do you know a lot, and friends with friends…we have to make the stand somewhere, before its too late. God help us!

      That’s not quite accurate,S. Grassley has senr me detailed and blistering updates-and not just short letters,either. At least he is working on it. There needs to be an accounting for All involved. I’ve been on this like peanut butter on bread. I see the tide turning. No Obummer in ‘12.!!!

If he made an issue of this, he could either effect the outcome or let everyone know who is responsible. He has chosen to do nothing. He has run from the issue.       Also,don’t forget…Holder may have something on Issa and his role in the nomination of Cain/Obummer-knowing full well o. was’nt qualified and using Cains birth as a shoo-in for O’s qualifications. He tried this w/Grassley-Grassley came out with it publicly-and that sqeulched that gesture by Holder to blackmail him from the investagation of fast anf furious. This is exactly why you lead rightous lives. Or have the balls to own up to your mistakes,so this type of corruption does’nt gain traction,and have snowballing effect.

    the mexican government complained about the incident, why, they are the biggest part of the drug cartels,they are the reason people are fleeing their country, it is they who mistreat their own and foreigners, they deport without due process,they abuse prisoners, so why the complaint, the mexican government is more corrupt than ours, our government has tied the hands of the boarder agents, they must not offend or try to enforce our laws for fear of being arrested,the criminals have more rights than our agents, if the agent would have shot the teenage criminal and left him for buzzard meat,then maybe he could be prosecuted,but being a little aggressive is just B S,they should have given him a medal of honor for doing his dangerous job, how much you want to bet this was not the first time the teenager had run drugs and what would you want to bet that he is still doing it, what did the teenager get from the mexican government for his part in this travesty,or did they just do what they always do, throw him back out to continue running drugs for them and the cartels. they should let this agent go,and everyone involved in his prosecution should be put in prison for treason.

      This story makes me mad. They arrest our border guard for doing his job,but these drug cartels can decapitate people and hang their heads off bridges or put them on sticks and our government doesn’t do anything about it. The border needs to be cleaned up, bottom line.

      Time to invoke the 10th amendment on anything passed by regulation passed by government agencies and not the congress and to stop all regulations passed by Congress by not granted to Congress in the Constitution.
      States don‘t have secede to stop Government it just has to use it’s Constitutional rights.
