Trump Card? The Donald Now Says He’s Not Ruling Out 2012 Run

It was just last week that Donald Trump ruled out a run for president in 2012. At the time he said he‘s a businessman and he’s not ready to leave the private sector. But was that really the truth?
Apparently not.
On “Fox and Friends” this morning, Trump appeared for his weekly call-in and began handicapping the potential candidates. As you’ll see at about 1:45 below, he quickly starts lamenting the GOP field. Shortly after, he drops this bombshell after Brian Kilmeade asks if Trump is not ruling out a “late entry” into the race:
“I would not rule it out, no. I would not rule it out. I said I wouldn’t do it, I said I probably, you know– in so many different respects I see what’s going on. I can’t rule out anything. The country is so important, it’s so vital that we choose the right person. And at this moment I don’t see that person.”
See for yourself below:
The comments raise many questions, mainly: Is Trump really serious, or is this a media stunt to keep his name in the headlines?

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 12:08pmAlthough I would not vote for him I hope Trump stays active in the process. He is raising issues and saying things that other career politicians wont talk about. When was there a campaign that talked about our debt to China, or all the money we give away around the world to people who want to see us dead, or the needless loss of life of our troops around the world. His comments force the other candidates to respond, even if it is in politician double talk. I would rather they keep sticking the microphone in his face and him not officially running. I too wonder if he is running a stealth operation to get Obama re-elected. With him in the race as a Republican we will get Romney as a candidate who in my opinion will be more of the same. While we may not crash as quickly as we would with a second term from Obama I don’t think he has what it takes to right the ship.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 11:52amOriginally Trump was going to announce his decision during the live season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. There were a couple of shows that were accelerated episodes, i.e. two back to back challenges and firings.
At the time, I thought he was trying to hurry up and finish the show so he could announce. He did announce before the finale he was OUT. Now he may be IN.
He’s simply after the publicity and would not want the pay cut. Much like Sarah Palin, they are better off helping the party by staying out of Washington.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 1:06pmI think Donald sees that really only Palin is viable, and most of us would not vote for her. So, he’s doing the smart thing and waiting it out. There’s certainly no rule that I am aware of that states potential candidates cannot change their minds either way.
Seriously, I can’t believe you people rate any of the current candidates higher than Trump because the only difference between all of them is that Trump understands how to get results – for many, many, many years. Every other announced candidate can match his ego, but back up their words with as much production as Trump.
I think it’s comical how many of us believe Trump is not a “serious” or “viable” candidate – considering there aren’t really any at this point. Every candidate we have is either a RINO that won’t get crap done, or is incapable of getting crap done. It’s a joke and Obama will walk away with re-election as a result.

I agree that Tim Pawlenty is a VERY strong conservative, and has run his very liberal state of Minnesota to a T. But I agree with critics that he doesn’t have the “it” to be elected POTUS. He would be my favorite choice in the field for VP, and could advise Herman Cain VERY well on how to put his business skills on such a high political level. I believe Mr. Cain is the BEST true leader in the field, and would know how to surround himself with the absolute best cabinet possible to fix the overwhelming problems that we face. He knows the value of smart, innovative advisors, and knows how to assimilate all the information and make sound descisions as a leader.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 2:08pmMySacredHonor:
If Pawlenty ends up being “the guy”, we’re screwed. Obama will walk away with a re-election.
If Pawlenty wins, we‘re screwed because he doesn’t pack the mettle, and will be run over by the media and the boorish democrats.
I’m telling you people that we need to rally around “the right” candidate. One that really ****** people off and one that actually embraces it. Then, one that is like one of us in terms of everyday behaviors, attitudes and outlook. And, one that wasn’t born and bred to be a politician, yet one with some experience in the political realm. It’s Palin. It has to be Palin.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 9:21pmThe Republicans had better start appreciating their resources. Donald is not going to run. That has always been obvious. He played a very important role. He took that stupid birth certificate off the table, put Obama on the defense in doing it, and made Obama look weaker in the process. He was a valuable asset. That birth certificate was going to be a thorn in the side of the GOP. This is the most important election ever and we conservatives better get on the same page. We can landslide Obama in 2012. That will be a mandate to shove the far left back down the gopher hole. One man can do this.
Herman Cain in 2012.
If you haven’t heard him yet, listen to him. Everyone that hears him gets excited about him. We have not had a candidate like that in decades.

The media campaign slimyness is already starting, and he is the ONLY one I know who can deal with the nastiness as it should be dealt with. Everybody else feels they have to play by the rules imposed by the liberal media. (And no, apparently Allen West is NOT running, which says a lot about him whether he wants it to or not….)
If only to set another example/ another tone with the media, Trump would be utterly useful.
And what’s so wrong with a shrewd international businessman as a leader? There may be some great candidates among the political intellectuals, but hey, isn’t that what we have now? Ain’t no garantee for a GOOD President.
Some say that for Trump, it’s all about the publicity. Well anyone who thinks it’s about anything else for any other declared candidate is sorely mistaken. Publicity is the name of the game from here on out –for everybody. Obama will not be running on intellectual politics–and he will beat anyone who does not have more than “policy-speech” to go on.
