Trump Hits Back at CBS Veteran Bob Schieffer for Suggesting He’s a Racist

Despite claiming victory on Wednesday after the president released his long-form birth certificate, Donald Trump is still in the news regarding the birther issue. This time, though, it’s not about the actual document. Rather, it seems Trump is in a war of words with CBS veteran newscaster Bob Schieffer.
As the news media was in a frenzy yesterday after the president’s move, CBS’s Katie Couric interviewed Schieffer on his thoughts regarding the issue and Trump. That’s when Schieffer suggested Trump is a racist:
“I want to go on to what Donald Trump said after he said ‘this is out’ and everything. He said, ‘we need to look at his grades and see if he was a good enough student to get into Harvard Law School.’ That’s just code for saying he got into law school because he’s black. This is an ugly strain of racism that’s running through this whole thing. We can hope that that kinda comes to an end too.”
That outraged Trump today, who in an interview with TMZ shot back:
Trump tells TMZ … “That is a terrible statement for a newscaster to make. I am the last person that such a thing should be said about.”

We asked Trump if he was suggesting Obama got into Harvard Law School through affirmative action. He said, “Affirmative action is out there. It’s a program that is available. But I have no idea whether it applies in this case. I’m not suggesting anything.”
Trump would not say if he supports or opposes affirmative action. But he’s clearly trying to douse the flames he ignited, by saying, “Grades are the least important aspect of somebody being president. It’s not a big subject for me.”

I believe someone called in a favor and got Barry Soetoro admitted to Harvard, and later got him appointed as the Harvard Law Review editor. It still says extreme hatred toward another culture or race in my 2006 Websters, but it has changed definition on the free online dictionary since I last went to copy(during last years election) the definition in Oct. 2010. It’s like being “President” of the school band — you get a fancy title, the band gets a smiley face and the unaffiliated public gets impressed by the title.
Students who have more demands on their skills while in Law School and have a more secured future afterward are far too occupied with other — and academic — duties to be bothered making the cocktail or party circuit looking important and so elect someone else among their student population who could use the bump and who they, the other students, can release the public-appearance-popularity-need campaigning to.

It’s called “legacy student” admission — and it does not rely on grades or qualifications to be admitted, but simply a guarantee or assurance that an admitted, legacy student’s bills/costs will be paid and that there’s a family legacy of Harvard. Note, again, that the “guarantee of payment” aspect is key — Harvard will admit legacy students despite their poor academic demonstrations prior to if there‘s a family alumnus or are family alumni and if there’s a guarantee of payment ability by whatever source (in Obama’s case, obviously, since his father was formerly admitted to Harvard, as to the payment ability, both of them had “other” as to paying their bills, as yet unrevealed and it might have been Harvard itself or other Harvard associated who paid their way for some ulterior motive such as socio-political usefulness or expediency).
The Ivy Leagues ALL admit “legacy students” for other reasons, too: legacy students who are not academically talented provide a “comparison factor” for the other students by which the other students can feel superior about their own accomplishments (or, rather, “better than” — a “B” looks stellar when there’s two people among twenty who are doing C- or even D work). So the Ivy Leagues make a point of admitting people they bet can at least graduate (“C” overall still graduates, look at John Kerry) as long as they’re financially secure, and the rest of the students get to “feel” great about their B- averages or better.
