Trump Rants Over Obama’s China Love During SOTU

China is not a friend of the US and should not have been praised during President Obama’s State of the Union speech Tuesday.

That’s how CNBC paraphrased Donald Trump’s reaction to the State of the Union speech. In addition to calling the remarks “mostly talk,” Trump launched into an impassioned diatribe about the president heaping praise on the communist country.

“Interestingly, he was talking about how great China is … [but] it’s supposed to be a speech about us,” he said. “And China’s been hurting this country and hurting it very badly.”

“I thought the low point was when he talked about how great China was,“ Trump added ”To me that was inappropriate to have in this speech, especially in light of what has happened with China.”

He even went as far as to say China is “not a friend of this country”:

[Interview starts at 2:00 below]

Trump realizes it could be seen as odd to be upset with China when he himself does business with the country. But he said he has “no choice” but to buy certain products from the country, and if China adhered to fair trade principles, he wouldn’t have as much of a problem.

Does it sound like he’s hoping to one day give his own SOTU speech?

I’d be very interested to see the Donald run for President. I think the GOP Presidential contenders will present the best stable of eligible people we’ve seen in decades for Conservative voters, and ALL OF THEM will prove their place of brith too. LOL

Did anyone catch that “move forward together or not at all” statement? That was not a bi-partisan remark. He was sending the message that if Republicans did not pass legislation that HE endorses like cap and trade and amnesty to illegals, etc., it would be vetoed. So much for the false statement on we need to be bi-partisan. Looks like the great divide is on again….this civility smokescreen was just that…a smokescreen.

    Donald,
I attended a housing meeting last night in Pa. They complain about the housing shortage here and they have people come and speak on a panel to discuss it. Not one person on the panel seems even remotely to understand that the lack of affordable housing is the result of unbelievably oppressive government regulations. So your words about fairness with other nations dovetail with the same (but opposite) problem at home. We seem to let the foreign markets take advantage of us and beat us in that game of commerce, and then we slam our own investors with roadblocks at every turn and basically shut them down, and then we wonder why nobody’s building, nobody’s investing here. So it’s refreshing to say the least, when I hear a clear minded person such as yourself speak about the problems our nation is facing. It’s like a breath of fresh…intelligence. Thank you and I wish you all the best if you decide to run for the White House. I am one person who will support you wholeheartedly.

If I’m going to sacrifice and follow someone as my leader, I want him to be better than me… a true role model. Otherwise, why would I follow? There are good men and women out there. I don’t know why it is we end up choosing between the lesser of two evils every time we vote. We should be able to choose a leader who is better than us, like Honest Abe.

He’s clearly setting himself up for a run as the GOP candidate in 2012. He’s saying “all the right things” and is trying to look like a maverick who bucks authority, but if you examine his career you find a guy who has used government to his advantage when he could. Back when he was a “new name” in the 1980′s and I was a budding Randian I thought he was all that and a bag of chips. Then I read his first book and my opinion immediately changed. He bragged several times about using government favors to get what he wanted when he thought it would turn a buck (favors as in zoning, or pay offs, or getting his competition legally nixed). That did it for me, he lost his shine. Since then he’s done nothing to make himself any better in my eyes.

I don‘t mind the arrogance and I don’t mind the speaking up part of him. Push comes to shove though the guy is a RINO right out of the gate. Don’t fall for his rhetoric, check out the campaigns he’s helped finance.

As we worry about environmental problems with drilling for more oil, China is buying up as many wells in as many other countries they can. There are no tariffs to protect the American worker because large multinational AMREICAN companies have bought our politicians to promote free trade policies. These global companies couldn’t care less about the everyday American worker. Their corporate goal is profit, pure and simple.

Agree with you Clive…Most assuredly it had strings attached. That is one of the flaws in our system and unfortunately, short of term limits, will be difficult to correct. Supporting “your” candidate financially is necessary, especially with a slanted media. Unfortunately many big business people contribute to both sides knowing they will win and have some I.O.U.’s with whomever wins. I know one CEO who I listened to pledge $10K while riding in the car with him and when he was off the phone said I hope that “explicative” piece of “etc.” loses this race. It is rather stunning the first time you see it firsthand! When I inquired, the abridged version was you have to have friends in both parties to have any control of whats going on. Many, many of the big players do this.

I am tired of the expression, “a level playing field” it simply does not make sense. I know what it suppose to mean. But the anology does not work. Case and point; if it is a playing field as in football, there are two teams. If the field is unlevel, its unlevel for both teams, therefore its fair. Whats the problem?
