TSA Forced Cancer-Surviving Flight Attendant to Remove Prosthetic Breast

Cathy Bossi has been a flight attendant for 32 years.  She recently had a terrible ordeal when directed to go through a new full-body scanner.  She talked to WBTV-TV:

“The T.S.A. Agent told me to put my I.D. on my back,” she said.  “When I got out of there she said because my I.D. was on my back, I had to go to a personal screening area.”

She says two female Charlotte T.S.A. agents took her to a private room and began what she calls an aggressive pat down.  She says they stopped when they got around to feeling her right breast… the one where she’d had surgery.

“She put her full hand on my breast and said, ‘What is this?’.  And I said, ‘It’s my prosthesis because I’ve had breast cancer.’ And she said, ‘Well, you‘ll need to show me that’.”

Cathy is working with the flight attendant’s union to pursue the matter with TSA:

“There are blowers and there are dogs out there that can sniff out bombs,” she says.  “There‘s no reason to have somebody’s hands touching your body parts.”

    God Bless You Cathy. Thank you for taking care of us during flight. You do not have an easy job dealing with disgruntled people on a daily basis. Your job will only get more difficult when people take their hostiltiy over their TSA encounters out on airline employees. Congrats on your successful battle with breast cancer. It is a sad state of affairs when a documented establiched employee in the airline industry is subjected to such an invasive search. May you continue your lifes journey cancer free. Thank you for speaking out and telling your heartfelt story.

My suspicion is that, by definition, leftists would surrender any and all rights to a superior authority. Interestingly though, none have ever come out and admitted it.

      No. Here’s an example of how they believe in rights, but only subjectively applied.

      They’ll fight for the unjust death of an animal, but not come to the defense of a soldier run over while celebrating his return from combat (Ulribe). In fact, they’ll drive the truck that hits him to make a point.

      Now, pick a right or a freedom and think it through. It won’t take long to find that Liberals often simply believe they should be subjectively applied.

      So, the difference is not the rights and freedoms. It’s who enjoys them.

    This tyranny must be stopped at all cost. Yes this is one of many issues and is absorbing a lot more interest than the others, but as a sincerely affected society from these tyrannical measures now being taken by the TSA and this Obama administration, as a people you must stay vigilant and stay the course on this issue and not back down. You must push back in the light of day, or else you will never be respected for your point of view, and you will be walked all over by those who think you will be ready to submit every time they take a more intrusive measure. This is how tyrannical groups take hold, from a public that is too willing to bend and give in to assaults on their person and a trampling over their rights.
    Keep the focus of the spotlights and the cameras on the TSA and be relentless in your pursuit for justice. You will win and with that victory, you can move on to the others, and guess what, they will run for the hills, and be too afraid to take advantage of you ever again. Right now as we speak, these same government tyrannical bastards are planning on what they can do to you with their new found powers they just gave themselves over the internet. Need you be reminded they just took over controlling the internet, and the military complex has draconian powers over cyber space as well.
    So the gauntlets down and it’s time to take a stand against the TSA, this is only the beginning and a good beginning it is. America is awake, America is alive, Americans can take a stand and show the world they will not allow any government, especially their own, to toy with them. If you want the world’s respect, start getting it by reigning in these internal terrorists.

    Where does the responsibility of the people being searched come in to affect. If you have anything that is not normal then realize you will need to answer questions about it. Most the horror stories out there have the people with something that is not as God created such as implants or prosthetics.

    I had to go the the local courthouse to pay a ticket. At the door was a medal detector. I had to take off my belt for the first time going anywhere. If I knew I had to I would not have wore a belt. The time I was going through security was longer than the paying the ticket. When I would fly I would not carry anything that would cause questions and if I did have something knowing that question are coming I would expect them. I would let them do anything needed to answer them.

      You’re torn to make a decision…carry it with you and you’ll have it removed while you get an intrusive search….put it in your checked baggage and risk having it stolen…

      I just returned from a trip Thursday…a very nice medallion hangs on the zipper of my hanging bag (checked it for the first time ever)…the medallion was missing at the destination…zipper in perfect condition, no stress on the zipper tab and the key-ring which held it on wasn’t scractched, stretched or broken…I guess someone “needed” the medallion more than I did…bless ‘em…fer now…

      That argument doesn’t hold water. What – are you going to go barefoot to the airport? They make you take off your shoes…and apparently your body parts as well.

      This woman should sue the government for mental distress. This is not TSA’s fault. ALL of this comes from Obama’s administration and czars. Be nice to these agents – I can’t imagine being in their shoes. It’s not like there are a ton of jobs out there that they can up and quit. To one day be told your job description includes fondling Danglingbags? I‘m impressed we haven’t heard more stories about TSA agents upchucking on passengers.

    Every time, I get “selected” for the scanner, I opt for the pat down. Because they should endure the inconvenience just as much as I will. Further, the pat-down lasts for a moment, the scanner image lasts indefinitely.

    Then ask the TSA employee, “How was I selected for further scrutiny?” and they will [quite often] say, “We select people at random in order to keep it fair and sample the population.” Or do we really believe children fit a threat profile?

    Folks, random sampling is not “reasonable search and seizure.” Keep a record and file a complaint anywhere and everywhere. Begin with TSA, the airlines and your congressman’s office(s).

    Defend the constitution, or be prepared to live without it. Know the 4th amendment. Know when it’s been violated too.

    There’s something very wrong with this arrangement. Remember, if seems excessive, it probably is.

    THERE ARE other technological and manual methods which will work without invading your privacy or assaulting your dignity and your rights (scanner image clarity OR the frisking)!

    Otherwise, some suggest “crop-dusting.” ;^) You pick…lose your rights, or lose your couth. That’s gonna be a curious trend to report in the news!! Ewww

    As flight attendant for over 25 years, this deeply concerns me. We are on our way to work and subjected to excessive radiation from the scanners or the pat downs by TSA. This is stupidity at it’s finest. The liberal left has pushed political correctness way too far. As a crew member, I fully support PROFILING! El Al’s security procedures are stellar, and we should be following suit. I fully expect a backlash from colleagues. As for our passengers, demand the same security procedures Isreal’s El Al Airlines participates in. IT WORKS!

      I think we need to demand the Surgeon General certify to the public that constant screening by TSA is not a health risk. Also that patting down children will not be detrimental to their psyche since most children have been taught not to allow strangers to touch them in their personal areas. Phone, email do whatever will jam the system and demand that this be addressed. I think the public is being set up with the “top down, bottom up, inside out” and the holiday travel is the trigger. Just don’t have a warm tummy feeling…..

    I was once a Customs Inspector. We had to have ‘reasonable suspicion’ supported by articulable facts (usually two or more), to have someone remove a prosthetic device, or even to pat them down. What happened? Our American public became sheep, that’s all. TSA is way out of bounds here. If the USSC ever sees one of these illegal search cases, and upholds the search, we should amend the Constitution and give term limits to SC justices. A year or two would be good.

      Yes, they are because the know they have less than three months in which to act. If they can’t get “us” (the people) to act within the next 30 days then I believe they will stage something, and “say” (lie) that “we” wanted them to do something to “save us”.
      I think we need to write and email our congressmen/women, our State govenors, and State legislators . I think we need to do so in a VERY massive manner. I think we need to head them off at the pass so to speak, by notifying these representitives that we believe something is coming and that “we the people” do NOT want the Federal Government to “save us” in any way, in fact we want the present administration and congress to do NOTHING at all for the next three months. If anyone out there (Glenn?) can afford too, placement of public notification in ALL the major newspapers, and monthly magizines would go a very long way in letting the Administration and this congress know that we are aware , alert, and DO NOT want them to “save us for our own good”. We should come right out and say “We the people of these United States do NOT TRUST this administration or this congress to act in our best interest in any matter of National security, and that they now having Full and Public Knowlege should heed the will of the Majority of their Ctizenry and cease and desist from any writing of Law(s), Executive order(s), or any other method of enacting or enforcement that is against the majority will of the People of these United States as per the constitution of these United States.
      Not that I believe that this effort will forstall them from acting, I do not believe any such thing, Such is my distrust for this President, his administration, and this presently sitting congress. But I do belive it is in our (the Peoples) best interest to notify and inform as many Americans as we possiably can, in the short amount of time in which we have to do it. I believe the “survival” of our Republic is incmbant upon the greater weight of the “people” becoming informed (as best as possiable), and although the “lamestream media” has failed on all counts to be unbiased and truthfull in their presentation of the “news” (propaganda is what they try to feed us instead) there is a remedy. That remedy, is that they Will print, and show our adds for the going “rate”, because they say with there “liberal bias” that they hate capitalism, but with their dollar stained fingers they embrace it. If we show them the money they will run our information, and properly written the information can awaken our nation to the peril that lurks inside it.
      But all the whille we must practice Faith, Hope, and Love (charity). And no matter what do NOT return violence for violence, hate for hate, racism for racism. Rise above, so when the time come we Rise.

      Here’s a couple more items I have found out to be true. Google the “EB 5 program” basically, Chinese are comming to America making Government backed investments (no loss period) of $500,000 and receiving instant Green cards for their families. Just passed a sales tax on property for those making more than 250K, their own primary residence gets a 250K exemption…all other property has the sales tax. The mortgage interest tax write off is on the way out………..further devauling property. dsnews.com. Google the money masters on what our Treasury really is and why its in the whitepages instead of Government listings. All this GREEN energy is a crock….you want solar panel system and want to push energy back into the grid, well start off by being charged a 100k bond, then the power company will at best pay you a fraction off the retail cost, most won’t pay anything…but, the power grid is leasing millions of sf. to build “their” production. GM is making record profits because the tax payers now pay the entire cost of retirement and medical, thus making the union owned automaker more profitable than ever before….

      Also brings to mind the media’s attention to how much more spending will occur this Christmas season. In my area most recently, 2 Lowe’s home improvement stores closed, several Walmart stores now open the automotive dept. at 8am instead of 7am and I can walk into most grocery stores without waiting in line to pay the substantially increased prices on everything from paper goods to soap. No inflation going on in this Country……according to the Treasury.

Obama will then propose PRE -TSA to protect the TSA union workers. All passengers, crews, must be prescreened at an off site area with armed PRE_TSA union screeners and will be isolated till the flight is ready

      Get rid of the TSA before it organizes into a Union. Stop the wasteful spending on machines. Rely on well trained dogs to sniff out anything that should not be on a plane. A 20-lb bag of dog food and a rubber ball is cost effective and will keep the doggies happy without breaking the bank (that bank, by the way, has OUR money in it)

      When polls are taken on this matter it should be limited to people that actually fly. We have people being polled that are saying sure, pat down my neighbor, thats OK. Whereas, I haven’t been on a plane in 10 years and dont plan on flying anyway. Got the point PETERTHEPAINTER?
      Finally, the pat down itself. If this is the responce to the underware bomber, then what will be the ‘required responce’ to the next terorist that hides an explosive up his rectum???? If I were alkida I would be laughing my butt off. Look at those cowardly Americans, I think it would be fun to have every American have a finger inserted up their rectum before they can go to visit Grandma.
      Wake up people. You are only having your personal freedom, dignity and individuality stipped away under the guise of safety. As an American, I find your fear invoked complience embarassing and this is why we MUST spend time on this topic.

      Exactly, watch the other hand. This is truly sad, we may be winning on the battlefield, though this is ridiculous. these terrorist are winning here at home. there goal is to put a financial strain on an already bankrupt country. Who is putting the the tips out about printer cartridges on planes ! come on, really now if they wanted to set of a bomb they would. they know the next time American citizens are killed here in the United States it will be all about where to drop the carpet bomb. there best tactic at this point is to sit back, laugh and watch the BS going on with each one of their dry runs, while our financial house collapses and we become more vulnerable.not only the terrorist are sitting back watching, so is Iran,Russia,N.Korea,China, and the the rest of the American haters, while we have some of the biggest home grown terrorists trying to destroy our financial system right here at home. If we don’t pay attention to what is behind the curtain, 911 will look like child’s play.
