Turkey’s Jews are outraged after an advertisement for Biomen shampoo featured Hitler urging men to buy the product.
“If you are not wearing a woman’s dress, you should not use her shampoo either,“ Hitler ”says.” The advertisement concludes: “Here it is, a real man’s shampoo, Biomen,“ as though Hitler is the model ”real man.”
According to the Daily Mail, “Turkey has long had an apparent fascination with Hitler, as the Nazi leader’s autobiography Mein Kampf became a bestseller in the country in 2005.”
Turkey’s Jewish community, which numbers between 18,000 and 20,000, released a statement saying, “It’s totally unacceptable to make use of Hitler, the most striking example of cruelty and savagery.”
The Anti-Defamation League also wrote a letter to Turkey’s ambassador to the United States, saying it is “repulsed” by the commercial and, “The use of images of the violently anti-Semitic dictator who was responsible for the mass murder of 6 million Jews and millions of others in the Holocaust to sell shampoo is a disgusting and deplorable marketing ploy.”
However, despite local and international condemnation, Biomen has thus far refused to pull the advertisement.

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 8:46pmTurks are a very educated people… I met more than a handful of turks in Engineering school which were far brighter than the average American. I’m fascinated with the manner in which many foreign students learn math. They seem to have a grasp of the basics and fundamentals whereas many Americans just learn enough to pass their exams…
Anyway, wasn’t it JFK that said “Hitler had the stuff legends were made of..” Wasn’t he the Time man of the year in the 30s? I mean many want to turn around now and treat the man like he was the Devil or something.. He just happened to be the leader of the country which lost the last major World War. If they’d won then 100s of millions would be lauding his great accomplishments and so forth..
You know the old saying “To the victor goes the spoils..” I believe America needs to try read and history from a more neutral perspective. You know Great Britian was occupying about a dozen nations or so when Hilter came along in particularly India.. No one seemed to mind about that did they? Or all of the African nations which they exploited… The double standards are pretty amazing imo.

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 10:50pm@techengineer11 No way around not saying it and since you don’t mind what you say why should I? That’s about the stupidest attempt to sound smart that failed, that I’ve read in some time. You did manage to spell correctly though so cudo’s. Hitler was a mass murdering racist evil piece of dogsh!t and so is anyone who could possibly admire him. I admire WW2 Nazi weapons but they were not evil, they were used evilly however but don’t blame the plane. Hitler, Stalin etc. were evil, Period! You can say you admire a battle tactic or the way they swayed millions etc. But to actually admire the man. No, you can’t. And you come across as a damn fan. And this is being neutral on the subject. If I was jaded I’d have cussed more.
Report Post »And I’m glad you took the time to point out how much smarter you think Turks are over Americans since this article never said otherwise. You‘re a real piece of work and I’m amazed out how over educated idiots (if you do really have a engineering degree of which I don’t care) like yourself go on about how great or smart other countries are yet for some reason those countries really suck, hmm. And you wan’t us to listen to you. No, people like you need to shut the hell up but since this is America you get to speak your dumba$$ mind. Still I can still wish and say, shut the hell up and I did!
And yes my grammar and punctuation need correction but I‘m busy and don’t have the time to go back.

Posted on March 27, 2012 at 2:39pmCrazyRabbit: Well you are entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to mine. I believe a Jewish elite have done a very good job of smearing Adolf Hitler starting from his very first election in 1932…
Although I’m aware of what the Western Media, Academia, and Hollywood all say about Adolf Hitler much of it is simply not true and much of what Adolf did was for the benefit of the German people. Unfortunately bad things happen during War. Many leaders of Germany did not care for the fact that women and children were being targeted by Allied bombing campaigns and they simply held the Jews responsible for it… After all it was the Jews who officially declared War on Germany back in 1933.
I know it’s very difficult to see the facts through so much propaganda.. Trust me I would have hated me too just 5 or so years ago.. Look I’d love to be on the side of popular opinion.. I‘d love to with the in crowd and I’d certainly appreciate it if I were not called so many ugly names by people that I would otherwise consider good folks but I have to stand with the truth and the truth is we’ve lied to by a large degree.
Best wishes.

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 10:44amThis speaks volumes about the society in general in Turkey. There must be a slice of the population that sees Hitler in a different light than the rest of the world. Not saying that they must praise him, but are certainly offended by his history. Otherwise, this advertisement would never have seen the light of day. Turkey will hardly take consideration of their Jewish population, but may bend to outside displays of disgust.
