WATONGA, Oklahoma — SkyNews9 and pilot Mason Dunn came to the rescue once again for a stranded animal; this time for a calf stuck on the ice.
A rancher near Watonga called News 9 for help after his calf became stuck in the middle of an iced-over pond. Howard and Joan Hursh said they remembered seeing Mason rescue an animal years ago that was stranded on the ice, but couldn’t believe he flew out to Watonga to save their calf.
Mason used the wind from the helicopter’s rotor blades to push the calf back to safety. The ice eventually cracked, but the wind from the blades was enough to get the struggling calf back to shore.
And here’s the longer version including an interview with the pilot:

Report Post »N37BU6
Posted on December 29, 2010 at 7:28amNothing… it generated revenue; ads on the news station, ads here. The rancher got help, and they got a story.
Not exactly the most relevant story, but financially you can’t really have an issue. Plus helicopters cost more when sitting around doing nothing anyway.

Just curious…

Plus they need to plant Sarah’s “smoking gun” where it can be found to prove it as the truth to their BS.

Posted on December 28, 2010 at 11:12amTrue American story, you do what you need to do without calling in the Government to do it for. Great job…
Report Post »rbqueen
Posted on December 28, 2010 at 1:02pm@Livingfree – you are correct about that. That calf along with the rest of the cows should be celebrating right now. If the government had been called in to rescue that calf they would have wound up killing that calf and probably half the other cows trying to rescue that one calf. It doesn’t matter if the other cows were anywhere nearby or not, they would have found a way to kill them. Either that or they would have called in protective services and forcibly took away all the cows from these people for endangering the calf.

Posted on December 28, 2010 at 11:14am@broker0101 – Sir Baden Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, was once asked “What are we to be prepared for?”. His response, “Any old thing”. It is not meaningless to me for it has served me well to BE PREPARED.

Nice to see even this early on a fine morning that you and your progressive marxists buddies in the DC region are as miserable as ever. Be sure to enjoy the great blizzard of ‘global warming garbage’ incorporated going on there, and ignore the icebergs flowing on the rivers, they are just a ‘illusion’ caused by the delusions of Progressives own nonsensical warped reality.

Posted on December 28, 2010 at 2:59pmI think we’ve got the wrong take on broker 0101. I really don’t see a diehard progressive there. I don’t understand where he is coming from as all of his posts are pretty hostile. I want to know, though. He does not seem to fit in any pigeon hole I can discern. Curious fellow, that broker.
