TV News Helicopter Blows Stranded Calf Across Icy Pond

KWTV-TV:

WATONGA, Oklahoma — SkyNews9 and pilot Mason Dunn came to the rescue once again for a stranded animal; this time for a calf stuck on the ice.

A rancher near Watonga called News 9 for help after his calf became stuck in the middle of an iced-over pond. Howard and Joan Hursh said they remembered seeing Mason rescue an animal years ago that was stranded on the ice, but couldn’t believe he flew out to Watonga to save their calf.

Mason used the wind from the helicopter’s rotor blades to push the calf back to safety. The ice eventually cracked, but the wind from the blades was enough to get the struggling calf back to shore.

And here’s the longer version including an interview with the pilot:

These news crew go to great extremes to get props in place for their video clips. It appears their prop was “blown away” by their presence!

Nothing… it generated revenue; ads on the news station, ads here. The rancher got help, and they got a story.

Not exactly the most relevant story, but financially you can’t really have an issue. Plus helicopters cost more when sitting around doing nothing anyway.

Nope. I wouldn’t be surprised if hell was to freeze over before the Sea of Galilee did.

Good thing they used a chopper, because if they went in the water the stupid police would give them a ticket.

Shhhhhhh Smokey – We’re not supposed to know all that until this weekend when they announce it late Friday so that Rush and Sean and Glenn and all the other truth tellers (aka conservative talk show hosts can’t talk about it until Monday when their shows air again. Plus they need to plant Sarah’s “smoking gun” where it can be found to prove it as the truth to their BS.

Where is the DNR with a Fine…. or will it be the FAA fining these guys this time, after all the official government response to Animals in Distress (supported by many here if I remember correctly) is to let them die so I would assume this guy should be fined, jailed or even executed for his dangerous actions

@Livingfree – you are correct about that. That calf along with the rest of the cows should be celebrating right now. If the government had been called in to rescue that calf they would have wound up killing that calf and probably half the other cows trying to rescue that one calf. It doesn’t matter if the other cows were anywhere nearby or not, they would have found a way to kill them. Either that or they would have called in protective services and forcibly took away all the cows from these people for endangering the calf.

@broker0101 – Sir Baden Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, was once asked “What are we to be prepared for?”. His response, “Any old thing”. It is not meaningless to me for it has served me well to BE PREPARED.

Nice to see even this early on a fine morning that you and your progressive marxists buddies in the DC region are as miserable as ever. Be sure to enjoy the great blizzard of ‘global warming garbage’ incorporated going on there, and ignore the icebergs flowing on the rivers, they are just a ‘illusion’ caused by the delusions of Progressives own nonsensical warped reality.
