Tweeting Ahead of Himself: Joe Miller Slammed for Prophetic Posts on Twitter

Alaska GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller has deleted at least four tweets published on his campaign’s official Twitter account Wednesday night. The tweets were deleted after Miller came under fire for the prophetic nature of the messages, which hint at an all-but-certain win come November, according to CNN.
The controversial tweets read:
“Think I‘ll do some house hunting while I’m in DC.”
“Guess I should pick out some office furniture, as well, while in DC.”
“Then there’s matter of a name plaque for the door.”
“My sincere appreciation for the warm welcome, including from future colleagues in DC.”
Miller’s opponent, Democrat Scott McAdams, didn’t take too kindly to the predictive tweets. He fired back Thursday with his own message via Twitter:
“[Joe Miller:] While you’re in DC picking out office furniture, I’m in Anchorage introducing my plan to get Alaskans back to work,” the tweet read.
CNN also reports that a spokesman for Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who lost to Miller in the GOP primary and is now running as a write-in candidate, said, “for someone who wants to be a freshman senator, this is pretty sophomoric.”
And according to The Hill, Murkowski released a radio ad on Friday attacking Miller for drape measuring: “Wait a minute, Joe … you might want to wait until you hear from the 88% of us back here in Alaska who didn’t vote for you. That plaque on the door still reads … MUR-KOW-SKI.”
Miller’s campaign spokesman, Randy DeSoto, told CNN on Thursday that “a volunteer was responsible for the tweets last night and will no longer have access to the account.”
Miller was in Washington for fundraising events and meetings with Republican officials.

Posted on October 2, 2010 at 12:07amSeriously guys?
We’ve got socialists at the highest levels of our federal government openly calling for the destruction of our cherished freedoms that we as Americans inherited from God and The Founding Fathers, and yet we’re already willing to throw Joe Miller under the bus because he got a little cocky on Twitter?
WE NEED COCKY RIGHT NOW. In case you haven’t noticed, the nice guys (aka The Republicans) always finish second in Washington DC. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell do not inspire confidence.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 2:40pmAnyone that has been around Twitter long enough… knows that anyone of any importance rarely tweets themselves. They usually have a tweet person for this. Yes, they still do tweet themselves…but this is rare. I think it sounds like this temp they hired… could have been a plant by McAdams/Murkowski?? Why else would he have responded to this so quickly?
Report Post »Besides, this type of tweet doesn’t sound like anything that Joe Miller would actually say or do. Think about it.
Question with BOLDness
Posted on October 2, 2010 at 3:28amI agree. I think Joe is a great candidate. I’ve watched him on Fox and he seemed pretty humble to me and stuck to the issues. He refused to make negative comments about oponents. This doesn’t change my mind about him.

Beware of those masquerading as conservatives. It is time to rid the government of these type of people.
Dem., Rep., or Independent vote for those of moral character (if there is any), not just because of a party.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 1:44pmThere is an entire hacker network on twitter and elsewhere (left blogs) that have plans to sabbotage any and all identifiable/identified “tea party accounts” or “tea party candidates” before the election. There are screenshots of lists that have been made on twitter of accounts to be hacked/and or attacked.

My response to that^^ would be – “Good, go pander your generic and failed DNC policies. My plan to grow jobs is already known – I don’t have to be redundant with it, I’m not an Orwellian and 2+2=4, yeah – what a shocker.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 11:53amIt just drives home the point that the Republicans don’t understand what is happening either! You would think, maybe not the right word, they would pay some attention to the people that voted for them. And just maybe reflect some of the values and sentiments of those people.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 12:01pmI dont know why one has to tell people over and over with redundancy that the platform is – less taxes, less government [if you're not a Rino] and less government regulation on industry.
That will grow jobs, Reagan kinda proved this…
Or maybe I’m just overestimating the general populace – maybe they do need to be told these ideas multiple times.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 11:48amWhy did he delete them?
If I were him I’d be writing more….
It seems every time the DNC gets outraged some on the right just “correct” what the outrage is about.
Is he really that weak??
Report Post »slwolfgram
Posted on October 1, 2010 at 12:01pmIt probably wasn’t him that wanted to delete them I would bet some of his “advisors” told him to do it. Just like Sarah Palin had tape put over her mouth when running for VP. The professional politicians have their rule book and the advisors know it by heart.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 10:44amI like how Murkowski points out that this “freshman hopeful” is already acting “sophomoric” – last I checked, sophmore refers to a second year student, and freshman is a first year student – he‘s already operating at a higher grade than he’s hoping for.
Murkowski likes to point out that 88% didn’t vote for Miller – how many Alaskans didn’t vote for her, relegating her to an also-ran write-in plea for attention? If Miller won the primary with 12% of voters, she had to lose with an even smaller percentage, right?
You may want to take a sign on the door in the next few weeks Ms. MUR-KOW-SKI – it won’t be there in January!

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 9:47amYou know the left will run with THIS one! Why don’t people just use their God given brain and THINK before they pull stunts like this!!! IF Mr. Miller wants to ‘represent’ the good people of Alaska, doesn’t he know he will be fodder for the left for ANYTHING he does? Conservatives need to be ever so careful because the leftist media will pounce like a lion on them!!!!!
Report Post »PatriotDaze
Posted on October 1, 2010 at 10:01amLeftist Media? C’mon ReggaB ! Miller needs to worry about closing the deal with Alaskans. To do that, he has to win. The media didn’t roll our those two ads counterpunching the arrogance of his campaign. His opponents did. Sometimes it really isn’t about what the leftist media does, or thinks, or who they pounce on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (love the Ex Marks by the way!!) Sometimes its about flawed and/or inexperienced candidates and their campaigns. The first sign of true leadership, or lack thereof, is for them to ‘fess up’ to their imperfections instead of predictably searching for the leftists behind it all.
