Two Great-Grandmothers Parachute for Veteran’s Charity in Ohio

(The Blaze/AP) — Two great-grandmothers in their 80s have parachuted from a plane to raise money for a veterans’ food pantry in northwest Ohio, and they’re happy they did it.

The Lima News reports 83-three-old Marjorie Bryan and 82-year-old Marianna Sherman parachuted Saturday at the Allen County Airport in Lima.

They made tandem jumps with retired Sgt. 1st Class Michael Elliott, who has done tandem jumps with former President George H.W. Bush.

“Well, Margie, are you ready to skin this cat?” he reportedly asked her right before the jump.

True to her word, according to Ranger Tony Mouzon, who shot the airborne video of their jumps, neither of the women screamed on the way down.

With a glass of champagne in her hand after the jump, a jubilant Bryan said she wants to accompany Bush if he goes again for his 90th birthday.

“I’ll be 85, and I want to go with him,” she said, likely with a smile.

The women parachuted to raise money for the local chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America and its veterans’ food pantry.

    I won’t jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

    Those are my boys! The Golden Knights have been led by a top-notch Sergeant Major, Stephen Young, for the last two years! It was sad to see the responsibility change hands.
    Way to go SFC Elliott! See you in a couple weeks for my jump!

      After receiving and reading the new privacy changes Google was about to make on March 1st I cleared and deleted all my g-mail accounts (12 of them), formatted and reinstalled my OS and never looked back. Anything Google is no longer allowed on my main computer.

      I can still take my laptop to a hot-spot if I need to use Google Earth. But, that’s about it for Google. They lost me as a customer with the 60% reduction in privacy rights and their connection with Obama. : (

    Good for Margie and Marianna! I did a tandem jump about 15 years ago. It was scary but fun. These ladies did it for a good cause.

    The Blaze,

    Please take down some photos or ads. Your site has become far too slow to load. I find myself going back to Drudge to get my news due to the slowness of this site.

      I have complained… but they say… they need the Income. And, I told them… Al Capone… charged a Fee to insure that one could continue to Operate.

      @Dirty Harry
      Use Mozilla Firefox and install Ghostery for Firefox. (Ghostery doesn’t fully work in Internet Explorer).
      Firefox is also faster than Internet Explorer.

      Set the Ghostery bubble from 15 seconds to 0 or 1 second in options and make sure blocking is enabled.

      All the pop-ups will go away.

      Also, to refresh a page faster (to see new posts), under “comments” change the “Order by” from “Newest to Oldest” to “Oldest to Newest” and then back again. : )

      The Monk;

      Thank you for the advice – I use Firefox and used Ghosterly previously. Installed it and now theblaze is faster than I can remember.

      Don’t forget to read my “refresh” tip. Also, update Firefox if you are using an older version. : )

      If you want to do a basic Malware cleanup download and run Combofix. Just say “yes or next” at each question.
