TX Lawmakers Vow to Fight Obamacare, Ron Paul Explains Why Bureaucrats Will Call the Shots

Texans are poised for war over the recent Supreme Court decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. “Obamacare.” Texas Governor Rick Perry has already stated that his state will return to court to challenge its mandatory role in President Obama’s health care mandate and Attorney General Greg Abbott mirrored Perry’s sentiment, saying that Texas isn’t anywhere near ready to end the fight against what is now being passed as a “tax” on all Americans. Even Congressman Ron Paul weighed in with his views on what this means for the future of heath care.
Governor Perry released the following statement in response to the court’s ruling:
This ruling will be a stomach punch to the American economy. It is a shocking disappointment to freedom-loving Americans desperate to get our country back on track. Obamacare is bad for the economy, bad for health care, bad for freedom. Americans have made clear their overwhelming opposition to its convoluted, burdensome and overreaching mandates.
KTRH News Radio reported that directly following the high court’s ruling, Texas Congressman Ron
Paul appeared on the Michael Berry Show to discuss what could be in store for everyday Americans.
Paul reflected on the mandate (now a “tax”), saying he is not necessarily surprised by the decision. “It is a disaster really,” he added. The presidential contender and medical doctor noted that America has been on the “wrong path” for 40 years and that there is, “unfortunately,” a mentality prevalent in society that believes the government needs to provide.
Paul ceded that while “something good” might come out of it, that silver lining can not yet be seen. When asked what this means for everyday Americans moving forward, the Texas Congressman explained that when the bill goes into full effect, it will “push prices up” for health care across the board.
He asked how one can mandate that insurance companies cover “kids” until age 26 on their parents’ health care plans? He also asked how an insurance company can disregard pre-existing conditions without passing that cost somehow, onto other insureds. “You’ll get less than quality care. Businesses will suffer. It won’t be good for the economy and the markets,” he stated.
Paul also pointed out that Obamacare makes it “just about impossible” to opt out of the plan. In response to the “death panels,” which have received much notoriety, Paul explained that the phrase, meant to “grab attention,” simply means that care will be rationed. In reality “there is some truth to it,” Paul said, “because with government medicine you always have rationing.” He noted that bureaucrats, not doctors, patients or family members will be the ones who ultimately make the decisions on who will receive life-saving treatments and procedures once in a state of rationing.
You listen to Dr. Paul’s interview below:
Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison also weighed in, releasing a statement on the court’s ruling:
The Supreme Court has declared the health care law constitutional, but that doesn’t make it good policy. In fact, the majority said it was not ruling on fairness or wisdom of health care policy, but instead on the power of Congress to levy taxes. The court’s ruling confirms the president’s health care law is nothing more than a massive tax on the American people.
Providing additional perspective from the Lone Star State, the Houston’s Morning News spoke with State Representative John Zerwas and insurance company insider Kristin Oberlander, who said Americans will see a minimum of 10-15% increase in premiums. Oberlander said that the bill leans heavily on providing comprehensive care as opposed to lowering costs. She claims that those insured will receive better quality care, but will pay for it financially. Their interview can also be heard below:

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 4:41pmRon Paul is/was the real change we needed in Washington. Please believe the media that is as corrupt as our phony two party system did EVERYTHING it could to make him look like ‘Crazy uncle Ron’! People call names like Paulbots and so on. Why do they think so many people get so passionate about this man? Because he is principled. Even if you disagree with one of his stances (IDK how), you know your going to get what he says he is going to do. How many (if any) Dem‘s or Rep’s do what they say and then flip flop like what we saw today with Roberts? THEY ALL ARE ON THE SAME TEAM- “PROGRESSIVISM!!” The plan to set up the people is working flawlessly, and soon we will be so miserable, the people will beg the politicians for a big fix. Outcome- End Of Mans Freedom. If it even really exists anymore! :( We need more Ron Pauls and Glenn Becks in our culture!

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 5:49pmAmen! For the life of me, I still can’t seem to figure out why Glenn is so against Paul (even though he seems to have a great deal of respect for Rand Paul…) Beck is so diligent in exposing the liberal talking points for the idiocy that they are, yet when it comes to Ron Paul, he seems to jump right onto the mainstream republican bandwagon without any further examination. Beck of all people should recognize the traditional cop-outs… Yes, “Paulbots” are very adamant about what they believe, and there may be some who push the line of what is acceptable discourse (although from personal experience, I also believe this is a terrible exaggeration.) But how can you claim to be for liberty, and dismiss the ONLY CANDIDATE WHO IS RUNNING ON THE PLATFORM OF LIBERTY without even an honest discussion. I like Beck a lot, but it just boggles my mind that he sell his liberty for the “won’t be as bad as the last guy” candidate, instead of somebody that has a practiced history of sticking by his principles, even if he’s the only one doing it.

I think when and if Mitt gets in, it would continue.
Report Post »Here’s the thing, I disagree and I am leery of a couple of things about him (strongly), but since he is a constitutionalist, he would restrain himself and work within the confines of the framers intent. Right? It’s not like he would do decrees and wipe everything out all at once he would have to work WITH congress and supreme court, but at least he wouldn’t put us in further/deeper danger. Right? Could he unilaterally cut off Israel w/o congress approval-per Constitution? I don’t know.
What I do know is we as a nation may not be able to pull back from this abyss unless we have someone with strong values that does not deviate.
We are looking down the barrel of a gun and I swear, I feel like Mit might just pull the trigger, where as paul might be able to at least push the gun toward the ground.
My mind is just a mess, my chest hurts and I hate to go home tonight and have to tell the kids this ruling today after the blow we got on Monday (we’re in AZ). I know I will cry after holing in all day. We are a lost ship, Who is going to guide us to port… God bless the USA, please.

==========================================
He already did:
——————————–
“Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.
The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.”

Posted on June 29, 2012 at 4:50amLook guys, Ron Pauls foreign policy has been misconstrued by the media and establishment that do not want him in office as he would do his level best to take their power away and give it back to the people where it has belonged all this time. He knows that he cannot implement everything at once and he would work closely with Congres on everything as that is Constitutional. He would most likely pull half our troops home immediately. He would close half of our bases across the world that we do not need and open up bases that were closed here. He says why should our troops spend their money overseas when we could use their spending here? He would go to Congress and ask that all foreign aid be suspended, but would most likely get it cut in half to begin with. He will not do anything to Social Security or other programs that people rely on, until another state system was put in place that was working. He is a Constitutionalst and would never step outside the bounds of the Constitution. He is not afraid of going to war, but just asks that before we go, the government needs to ask the people permission. Why is following the Constitution a bad thing? Look at what not following the Constitution more and more over the past 100 years have gotten us. The one thing about Paul that I respect more than anything else is that he is not seeking the Presidency for his own gain, but to attempt to give each and every one of us back our individual liberty. That is what he is all about.

Posted on June 29, 2012 at 1:58pmThe reason is that Ron Paul is horrible when it comes to the war on terror. I completely agree with non interventionism but that’s not what this was is about. The current chapter in the war was started on September 11th, 2001, and the war itself was started in the year 711 when the caliphate invaded Spain. On domestic policy he’s amazing, which is where the respect comes from.
