U.K. MEP Gives Epic Warning on Greek Chaos: ‘You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet!’

An outspoken member of the European Parliament has struck again with another viral speech, this time warning that the chaos in Greece is just the beginning.
Nigel Farage is the leader of the UK Independence Party and has been an outspoken opponent of bailouts and what’s been going on in Greece. This week, he blasted his colleagues who have treated Greece like a puppet government, and he shunned the idea that Greece is a democracy. Instead, he believes the people‘s rights have been taken away and they’re future is being decided by foreigners intent on bailouts. Zero Hedge explains:
Outspoken and oracular MEP Nigel Farage bombards his fellow unelected officials with ‘you can’t handle the truth‘ comments as he points out the total contradiction that is the European Parliament’s (and ‘Puppet Papademos‘) view of how things are going in their democracy relative to the reality of a TROIKA-ordered coup forced on the man in the street.
“Puppet Papademos is in place and as Athens caught fire on Sunday night he rather took my breath away,” Farage said, referring to Lucas Papademos, the current Greek prime minister. “He said, ‘Violence and destruction have no place in a democratic country.’”
“What democratic country?” he asked out loud. “He’s not even a democratically elected prime minister. He’s been appointed by you guys. Greece is not run through democracy now, it is run through a Troika. Three foreign officials that fly into Athens airport and tell the Greeks what they can and cannot do.”
Papademos, a former European Central Bank vice-president, was appointed prime minister in November by the Greek president. That‘s what is drawing Farage’s ire, especially considering Papademos was charged with securing a eurozone bail out.
But he’s not done there.
“These policies are driving Greece towards a revolution. They need to be set free. If they don’t get the Drachma back you will be responsible for something truly, truly horrible.”
Here’s the entire fiery speech:
It seems the point of Farage’s speech, however, was lost to some. The Huffington Post, for example, went with the angle that he was supporting protests in the streets and angry with the austerity measures. But a closer examination, and considering Farage’s history, shows his comments were aimed at European politicians who turn to bailouts and have made a mockery of the democratic process in Greece.
Farage has been hailed as a prominent figure in Britain’s conservative movement. He gained attention for asking fellow politicians “Just who the hell do you think you people are?” during a debate about bailing out European Union countries, and has been an outspoken opponent of the EU.
You can read our previous profile of him here, which includes videos of some of his earlier speeches.
Here’s a transcript of his latest speech:
“Well Commissioner, you picked the right man. Puppet Papademos is in place and as Athens caught fire on Sunday night he rather took my breath away. He said, ‘Violence and destruction have no place in a democratic country.’
What democratic country?
He’s not even a democratically elected prime minister. He’s been appointed by you guys. Greece is not run through democracy now, it is run through a Troika. Three foreign officials that fly into Athens airport and tell the Greeks what they can and cannot do.
The violence and destruction that you saw on Sunday is being caused directly because people are having their democratic rights taken from them – What else can they do?
And I must say, if I was a Greek citizen I would’ve been out there, joining those protests on Sunday. I’d be out there trying to bring down this monstrosity that has been put upon those people.
And in his efforts, in the Puppet’s efforts to get the MPs to vote for the bailout package, he warned them, that if they didn’t do so there would be a dramatic decline in living standards.
Well, has he looked out the front door?
Has he seen the fact that 50 per cent of the young people are unemployed already. Has he seen the fact, that the economy, far from stalling has contracted for five years in a row, and is now accelerating on a downward death spiral – a contraction of 7 per cent per annum.
Greece is being driven into the ground, and I think, frankly, when it comes to chaos, you ain’t seen nothing yet!
These policies are driving Greece towards a revolution. They need to be set free. If they don’t get the Drachma back you will be responsible for something truly, truly horrible.”

Posted on February 15, 2012 at 3:24pmWrong! Nigel Farage does not hate Israel and blame Israel for the hatred of the Muslim World against Western values. When Dr. Looney Tunes condemns Israel for the 2006 and 2008 Gaza Wars, Nigel Farage says that Israel has a right to defend itself. Please do not compare this brilliant and decent British gentleman to Dr. Loon. Dr. Loon from Galveston is an anti-Semitic monster that must be stopped who regularly for the last five years at least has accepted campaign contributions from noted Holocaust deniers. Nigel Farage is a moral and decent man. How can they be even made of the same cloth?? I propose a trade. We take Nigel Farage, and the Brits take Dr. Loon and his imbecile foreign policy along with a politician to be named later. Until then Go Santorum!!

Instead of drinking the Israel firster koolaid when it comes to Ron Paul lets look at what he has actually said and done.
He want to end all foreign aid. Period. Sorry, this does include Israel. However, since we give more foreign aid to Israel’s enemies than we do to Israel, this should be a net plus for them. When Israel attacked an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981, Congress voted to condemn the attack, and Ron Paul voted against condemnation because he believes Israel should be able to defend herself without asking the US for permission first. Ron Paul believes Zionism is based on independence and self-reliance. Having Israel become a puppet state of the US through foreign aid does not make her and her people independent. Paul rejects the US trying to dictate boundaries and terms in peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians.
I’m sure Paul believes that the Israeli government has trampled on the rights of people and is not blameless in the current struggle. However, he believes that the US does not have a right to interfere with US tax dollars or troops. He believes in the sovereignty of individuals and states. If you personally believe that Israel needs external aid to sustain itself, no one is stopping you from giving of your own resources or convincing others. But to use taxation to promote your personal views of Israel is illegitimate.

Maybe you should tattoo your own children with, “Born in America, to die in Israel”. We don’t owe them anything except to be left alone. If you think that our military exists to die for them, get your ass over there and defend them yourself. Or better yet, send your own kids. Santorum, a religous nutcase who couldn’t even get re-elected in his own state. How many Obama voters are going to vote for him? Zero. If you want to beat Obama, Paul is the only one who can pull any of his voters. Not only that, many of us Paul voters will be voting for him, no matter what. So you might as well join us. You can‘t win without us and we ain’t voting for any more big government republicans and surely not for someone who actually thinks this country should be a theocracy. When Obama wins against the establishment, don’t call us the spoilers. You will be the ones who gave him the country again.

Posted on February 16, 2012 at 3:32am@marketsclear I fail to see any place in my comment where I take issue with Ronbaby’s position on foreign aid. America is bankrupt. It can no longer borrow money from China or create new money to give to other countries. At 102% National Debt to GDP ratio and exploding upward, all foreign aid must cease. America needs a bare bones operation. I truly believe that saner people than Dr. Loon from Galveston can balance the national checkbook. Michelle Bachmann was really the best choice, but she could not muster more than about 6% in Iowa. So Santorum may very well be the consensus conservative candidate. Perhaps Ronbaby could be the next Chairman of the Creature from Jeckyl Island (The Fed). It suits his present comportment. Yes, in the early 1980s Dr. Loon had not initiated his policy of accepting campaign contributions from other loons and racists. He now accepts money from the nation’s David Duke constituency. He has been asked by conservatives like Michael Medved to divest himself from such folk, but he simply continues to pocket their money. So his early opinion from the early 1980s that Israel has a right to defend itself has flown out the window. Pictures of him smooching with Holocaust deniers are all over the Internet. And then Daddy Paul thinks that he represents the views of principled Libertarians everywhere. He wears his three cornered Patriot hat claiming that the Founding Fathers had no entangling wars overseas.
Report Post »stealthman
Posted on February 16, 2012 at 3:41am@marketsclear I guess Daddy Paul seems to forget that two of America’s Founders fought major wars with the Muslim Barbary pirates for interfering with American merchant shipping in the Mediterranean. Neither Thomas Jefferson nor James Madison had a soft spot in their hearts for 19th century Islamic carpetbaggers. Neither them would have worried about Pakistani sensibilities, and would have gladly pumped a little iron bullet into Bin Laden’s brain in his posh estate next to a Pakistani miliatry base in a suburb of Islamabad. What a poor excuse for a man is Dr. Loon from Galveston. Seriously, make him Chairman of the Fed so from one monster to another he can deal with the Creature from Jeckyl Island.

50% have their hand out – pleading with the government to “Take care of me”
50% want the government to get the hell out of the way.
We have leaders who see the opportunity for power that are offering you and your neighbor free stuff.
Free education
Free food
Free healthcare
Free housing
But the problem with that “free” stuff is — you have to wear the chains that go along with it.
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” (Karl Marx)
Emphasis on the FROM and the TO part.
When you have 50% who are the ………FROM
and 50% who are the ……………………….TO
And you ALLOW the 50% to VOTE for more free stuff
And you ALLOW the leaders of this country to BRIBE them…with YOUR OWN MONEY……
Then all is pretty much lost.
