U.K. Speaker Preaches Failure of Capitalism and Rise of Socialism

As is becoming the norm in Europe, more student protests erupted yesterday in England. Such protests are opening the door for Marxists and socialists to preach their message to the disgruntled masses. Below are videos from one such rally in Liverpool on Tuesday. The man speaking through the bull horn is telling the group of young people things such as education is a right,  capitalism has failed, and it is now time for socialism to take its place (that statement comes at about 3:50):

Transcript via Verum Serum:

We want a society that provides for all. And what we’re witnessing at the moment is the complete failure of the capitalist system. And the only way that capitalism can be changed is by fighting for a better system. And that system has got to be a socialist society…

The speaker continued:

The Fed’s (central banks) keynesian policies, our governments social programs, redistributions, exemptions, welfare programs, tax shifts and entitlements are not free market or capitalistic approaches to economics. So to say that capitalism has failed is a lie. A more accurate and correct statement would be that the incremental injection of socialism into our free market system is like combining oil and water, socialism destroyed capitalism.

Socialism creates a class of dependents, when implemented the dependency increases because free money, food and benefits are very enticing. These entitlements are a means or tool of the progressive-kind to further their incumbency, and it works.

That is why even my fellow Tea Partiers (the majority) are not in favor of removing or reforming the big 3 entitlements. To change as a people, it starts with the individual, you. Asking the new congress to fix our economic woes, while tying a hand behind their back is hypocrisy of the highest degree.

Get your government-socialist hands off my Welfare, Medicare and Social Security? Do as I say, not as I do?

If we continue to say “well I paid into the system” as an excuse to collect from these entitlements. When exactly will this end? It takes a generation to pay the burden and not reap the spoils to remove socialism. It is easier to implement socialism, than it is to remove it.

Wake up friends, speak of principle, but also live by it.

You are exactly correct Libertarian. Many newly awake people need to realize that they have some hard and fast habits and ways of thinking that they need to break. We need to start phasing out the welfare-warfare state now, today, regardless of how many leeches will protest. I understand older people being afraid of losing Medicare/Social Security. So phase it out over a few decades, keeping them unharmed but adding nobody else to the rolls. Also, stop thinking that we‘re the world’s policemen. We’re not. We’re not even supposed to have a standing Army if you read the Constitution. Bring the troops back home, and defend our nation from behind our borders. Break out of the National Security State mold we’ve been taught all of our life, and break out of the Welfare Dependence State mold we’ve been taught all of our life.

Failure to accomplish those goals seals our fate.

Relics from the 1970s and earlier years. Recycled speeches from decades past. Much of this nonsense came from Professor Lasky (spelling?) and his ilk of the London School of Economics in the mid 1900s. We have seen this before around the world – in no country without huge raw material resources and small populations can it work and even then only for a limited time until the raw material resources dwindle or the population expands. The kind of country that has had the sort of raw material wealth to population ratios of which I speak are Canada, Guyana (but that is another story) and the Scandinavian countries. Not Cuba, Not China, Not the USSR. Not Zimbabwe, Not the UK, Not the PIGS, Not Jamaica, Not Egypt, Not most African countries. May The USA stand strong and root out these leftist manipulators that play so fast and loose with the truth.

Russia is practically one giant gold mine of natural resources. Communism failed there, and continues to fail under whatever they’ve renamed it today (it didn’t go away, you know). No, natural resources isn’t the key. There is no key to making it work. Socialism does not work, ever, in any circumstance or condition, in the long term. Remember the smug little sniveling professors pointing us towards Europe in the 1970′s as examples of socialism working? Seen the newspapers recently? Even our socialism is collapsing, and we have less than other nations, and we’re collapsing. Debt beyond the payment of all of mankind, just from our toe dipping in the cess pool of socialist theory.

Doesn’t work, has never worked, will never work. Ever.

If they’re self sustaining and pay what little tax is necessary for actual constitutional government e.g. – gas taxes to use the roads, basic sales tax at state level to cover peace officers/courts and national guard, then I’m happy and encourage such activity.

Keep in mind that to a socialist, even the slightest hint of uncontrolled activity is “capitalism”. They could, and have historically, locked people down economically from nose to toes, but if somebody under the lock down can take a breath out of unison, the socialists scream about the evils of capitalism and unrestrained markets.

What happens when there aren‘t enough people paying taxes to cover the ones who don’t? We are heading in that direction. Liberals operate on a “crisis” that only they can solve with big government, taxes, and spending. The government has already taken over much of the private sector and will continue unless something is done. This is not the light at the end of the tunnel but an oncoming train.

    The Failure of CAPITALISM!
The aspiring “PEERS” have initiated a new “PREPONDERANCE OF PROPAGANDA” initiative. Every aspiring “PEER” interviewed on television repeats the same lie. The lie? “CAPITALISM (INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM) HAS FAILED; WE NEED A NEW AND MORE BENEVOLENT FORM OF GOVERNMENT.” This is the first time in my memory that the majority party has dared to openly attack “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM (“CAPITALISM”). Will they succeed in reinstating a “MEDIEVAL SOCIETY”? Can the aspiring “PEERS” resurrect a society where political power, not productivity, determines the control of wealth? Will KING GEORGE III have the final laugh?
For those not familiar with the terminology used in “21ST CENTURY COMMON SENSE”, the “PEERS” are politicians who lust after the power and control over the “COMMONS” (producers) that the “PEERS” of 17TH Century England enjoyed under KING GEORGE III.
How could “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) fail? “CAPITALISM” HAS NEVER EXISTED. How do you answer such an absurd lie?
Well, it may not be a lie. Some of those who say that “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) has failed, may just be ignorant. So for the record, let’s define “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”). “CAPITALISM” is freedom of the individual from the initiation of physical force by the government and the protection of the individual form physical force. Does that sound like the system that failed? Since the Constitution was adopted, the aspiring “PEERS” have chipped away at our individual freedom. Historically “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) is the most efficient method of the deployment of capital. In a capitalistic society, investment is made by individuals or groups of individuals with the objective of the creation of wealth. The government deploys capital based upon the reward of political cronies.
Of course, there are unavoidable government expenditures required for the “common defense”, protection of the individual from the initiation of physical force (this includes necessary protection of the environment and even some form of “safety net” can be justified). Some justification can be made for government financing of infrastructure that private investors find impractical.
An exact quantitative difference between our “mixed society” and “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) is difficult to define. The deployment of capital can be used to define some of the divergence of our mixed society from “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”).
Government deployment of capital for anything other than the legitimate purpose of government is a violation of individual freedom (CAPITALISM). Let’s look at the federal budget and determine how capital is spent in violation of “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (CAPITALISM”) and what percent of “Gross Domestic Product” that expenditure represents. Even the expenditures for war (though they may be necessary to protect individual freedom) are nonproductive and a drain on the economy. However; the effects of war on the economy can hardly be used to discredit “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM) (“CAPITALISM”). Many of the government programs have been in existence for years and the cumulative effect on the economy cannot be determined. We will never what “could have been and should have been”.
The “GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT”1 (GDP) of the UNITED STATES for 2007 was $13,807.5 billion (2008 GDP was $14,264.6 billion the federal budget3 for 2008 was $2,900 billion or 20.3% of the GDP. Over the last 50 years the real GDP has grown at an average rate of 3.26%; the real per capita GPD growth has been 2.13%1. The government spends over 20% of the GDP and 6 times the average growth rate of the economy. SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, MEDICAID & SCHIP (children’s health insurance program), unemployment/welfare and the interest on the National debt total $1,788 billion or 12.5% of the federal budget. While you may consider some of these expenditures desirable, most cannot be classified as “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”). This leaves approximately $1,100 billion of “DISCRETIONARY SPENDING”.
Military and defense spending accounts for about $626 billion, leaving $488 billion for items like foreign aid, earmarks, government bureaucracy, etc.
It is difficult to determine exactly how the money is actually spent, and I am not sure that the listed military spending includes the “off budget” expenses for the Iraq and Afghanistan war. One could make a reasonable estimate that at least $1,400 billion (Ten percent of the GDP and over 3 times the historical economic growth) is expended on items that violate “CAPITALISTIC PRINCIPALS”. Some of these expenditures probably produce something of value but many actually increase the cost of production of other goods and services.
The remarkable thing is that what little “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) we have been able to retain has been able to finance the waste without crashing for this long.
Perhaps the failure of “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (“CAPITALISM”) is its inability to grow fast enough to cover the aspiring “PEERS” destruction of wealth
The above analysis is just the beginning. The solution offered to the collapse of the economy is to increase the portion of the “GDP” deployed by the federal budget. The Federal Budget is estimated to grow to 36% of the GDP in 2010 as we throw more of our seed corn to the chickens.
Can you imagine the wealth that would be created if even one half of this wasted wealth were to be invested in projects selected to create wealth instead of projects selected for the enrichment of political cronies?
The above chart shows the economy’s operation. Energy, labor and material are finite quantities. This wealth expended on frivolous politically inspired projects or used to wage war is not available for economic growth. Even though a war may be necessary to maintain our freedom, you cannot blame “CAPITALISM” for the consumption of wealth used to wage war or wealth destroyed by natural disasters. The wasted wealth, as onerous as it is, is not the most destructive departure from “CAPITALISM”.
The restriction of individual freedom (definitely a violation of “CAPITALISTIC PRINCIPLES”) is at least as destructive as the government waste of the nation’s wealth on projects designed to enrich political cronies. If the regulatory brakes were removed from the economy, we might even be able to afford the aspiring “PEERS” extravagant expenditures.
If the aspiring “PEERS” real objective were aiding the unfortunate, this is exactly what they would advocate. But the objective of the aspiring “PEERS” is the use of the ballot box to obtain power and control over the “COMMONS” (producer). Destruction of wealth increases the number of citizens dependent upon the government thus increasing the “PEERS” constituency.
What are the brakes the government has applied to the economy? Any use of the government’s “monopoly on force” is used to:
    1. Give one segment of the population an advantage over other citizens.
    2. Unnecessary restrictions on production or harvesting of natural resources.
    3. Forcing the producer to add unwanted features or outlawing desired features.
    4. Use of taxes to control individual activity or production.
    5. Restricting the individual’s use of privately owned property or confiscation of private property without adequate compensation.
Violations of the items on this list are too numerous to even try to make a complete accounting. The following are some of the more fragrant and destructive violations:
    1. Encouragement and forcing financial institutions to make mortgage loans to individuals with poor credit or inadequate income.
    2. Restrictions on the employer’s right to enter into agreements with employees free of the intimidation of government force.
    3. Abuse of eminent domain.
    4. Restrictions on the production and use of energy designed to protect the environment from unproven and highly improbable theories.
Some of those declaring that “INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM” (CAPITALISM) has failed may simply be ignorant of the definition of “CAPITALISM”. Others may be aspiring “PEERS” trying to return us to the days of KING GEORGE III. Their motive or intelligence is irrelevant. Their credibility is forever destroyed with people who think for themselves.

The problem with this argument is, and most of us here know it all too well, is that what young liberals are missing in their strings of logic as they formulate their immature ideology, is the fact that the only reason capitalism finds deep despair is because of socialist contaminations of the pure capitalist system . . . This contamination heightens and prolongs the highs to lofty places, creates illusions of perpetual gluttony; but equally, it takes the lows to the lowliest of places and holds them there until capitalism finds a way out.

Our economy, a hybrid of the pro-socialist vs. pro-capitalist competition that exists within our politics, has become a two headed beast with one head that feeds an insatiable social belly while the other attempts to motivate the body to generate wealth for the well being of the vital organs.

But foolishly, these young minds allow themselves to be coerced into wanting to chop off the head that does its only productive thinking . . . The corruption of the liberal is not only evil; in its end it’s also suicidal.

Drink up fools . . . your empty cup runneth over, again.

There is an old saying: hungry pigs get fed, greedy pigs get slaughtered! We have been complacent with our leaders and allowed the greedy ones to take advantage. We need to remove them and replace them with capitalist who have to return to society and live and work by the rules they make.

The only thing keeping socialism in America from failing is Capitalism.

You are exactly correct. The people of this country need to pay attention because we are nor far behind the UK. I hope the people there realize the power of the Tea-Party and implement the same movement in their country before it’s to late.

Capitalism is the source of all suffering. Poverty, crime, drugs, and war rely on capitalism. Anyone who defends it our consumerism is sitting in comfortable delusion on a tier of the pyramid that is above the mud. Rearranging our vital industries (food, health, education, etc.) away from the poisonous aim of profit is the only way our descendants won’t be obese, lethargic, and unimaginative. Whining about how the power of free markets enables better lives for all misses the point that every capitalist transactions has a loser and winner. Take a break from counting how many times socialism has failed and really think about the capitalist system. A bloated Imperial Empire subjects the globe to its brand of psychotic consumption, half the planet cannot eat because their fields are monocropped by Monsanto, billions of people push pencils in detested careers so phantom wealth can be created and bandied about, and everybody distrusts eachother from their alienated and hateful personal space? HALF of your taxes go to fighting extremists who are funded by your purchase at the pump and armed by the vestiges of this dirty system. We live in insane times. Who would rather eat well and spend time with their families? It’s possible in a resourced-based economy and socialist state.

I know I have posted this many times before, but I do it for a good reason so I hope all of you understand. Below is a quote from an important, but little known communist. Now think of the morons in the video above and think of this quote…

“We asked for freedom of the press, thought, and civil liberties in the past because we were in the opposition and needed these liberties to conquer. Now that we have conquered, there is no longer any need for such civil liberties.”

      -Bukharin, 1917

      drgonz,

You have the right to think what you like. In fact, I have NO problem with it. However, because you are talking against the system that I love and cherish. Its a system that has allowed us to svae the countless lives of millions upon millions of people. A good example is our commitment to world-wide battle against AIDS. Don’t believe, just ask Bono. Anyway… I consider you an enemy of the USA, and therefore you are my enemy. Lines are being drawn and soon you and I may meet on a very public battlefield. Be assured you will NOT be victorious. You are talking about destroying the last best chance this planet has for FREEDOM. Something you do not understand. Instead of taking the chance that you will lose everything in the upcoming battle, may I suggest you move to a Socialist/Marxist country and leave my country alone. God Bless The USA!
