Dept of Ed Pushes Man-Made Global Warming Using SpongeBob at Kids’ Reading Event

Is the U.S. Department of Education indoctrinating children to accept man-made global warming as fact?
On July 20, 2011, kids in the Washington, D.C. area were treated to free books during a special U.S. Department of Education event. Two of the books that were offered featured popular Nickelodeon characters as part of the network’s “Big Green Help Series,” a campaign encouraging children to help protect the Earth.
But one of these publications takes an overtly controversial stance, as it promotes the idea that global warming is a man-made problem that requires human intervention in order to be stemmed. CNS News has more:
SpongeBob Goes Green! An Earth-Friendly Adventure! tells the story of SpongeBob’s friend, Krusty Krab, who builds a swimming pool. Mr. Krab is frustrated that it is not hot enough to attract paying customers to his new swimming pool and decides that the exhaust from boats and cars could solve his dilemma.
Mr. Krab says: “I’m just pumpin’ a wee bit of carbon dioxide into the air. It’ll warm up the temperature and bring on an endless summer! People will want to use my new pool all year long.”
To help with his cause, SpongeBob and his friend Patrick set stacks of tires on fire.
As the story unfolds, Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel and a good friend of SpongeBob’s, discovers the pool plot and educates her friends about the dangerous plan that they’re undertaking. She explains that they are “messin’ with Mother Nature“ and ”bringin’ on global warming.” Like many of the children attending the department’s reading event, the impressionable SpongeBob asks, “What’s global warming?” Sandy Cheeks explains:
“Ya see, Earth has these gases called greenhouse gases. They’re in the atmosphere to keep the temperature of the planet just right. Carbon Dioxide is one of those gases. But when we make more greenhouse gases than the planet needs naturally, like you’ve been burnin’ tires and fuel, it locks the heat in the atmosphere. That makes the planet hotter than it should be. That’s global warming. And that’s not good.”

In the end, because of global warming, Mr. Krab’s pool water boils away. But, don’t dispair. Once everyone in SpongeBob’s hometown (remember, this all exists underwater, which makes the entire premise of the story implausible) starts planting trees, riding bikes and unplugging appliances, the community is restored. And, Mr. Krab even decides to give people a discount for coming to the pool if they walk or ride their bikes. Problem solved!
This story is not an isolated incident. On Nickelodeon’s “Big Green Help” web site, one can find videos in which the network encourages young people to “stop global warming.” While some will likely support the U.S. Department of Education’s distribution of the book, others will take issue.

I don’t think my last post went through, so I’ll try again. First, I feel for you and am not trying to attack you. I am an Air Force Weather Forecaster/Observer that was stationed in Arizona for 4 years and have a 98% accuracy rating in my forecasts over the last 9 years. I can tell you, without a doubt, that the vast majority of the “spray” in your pictures is High level Cirrus clouds that are very common, it doesn’t matter what the sky looked like that morning. Yes, Chaff exists, but contrails and chaff are NOT the same thing. Chaff is used in very rare training exercises by the military stateside, unless they are deployed and actually defending themselves from missiles. I’m truly sorry about your horses, but I would highly suggest looking closer to home (pesticides/insecticides being used in your area) as a cause to their upper respiratory problems. Global warming IS a hoax, that‘s why they’re trying to change the name to “climate change”, because climate change exists. The “inconvenient truth” however, is that man has nothing to do with climate change, it always has, and always will exist. That’s why during the last several years (during the height of the “Global Warming” scare) the temperatures have actually been DECREASING on average around the world. God bless.

That’s about how many people pay no taxes but get it all back. So WE (those who actually pay taxes) are paying for the Earned Income Tax Credit, and we borrow to run the government.

Posted on August 2, 2011 at 10:31amThat 47% pay no federal tax, usually pay no state tax, get earned come credit, welfare, medicare, food stamps/snap/whatever they are calling it today as to not embarrass the bums, they get help on rent, light bill paid, phone bill paid that way more than offset the small amount of sales and property taxes they might pay. And quite often the only thing these people contribute to society is an increase in the crime rate, increase in teenage births, and any pollution they create.

Eliminating the Department of Education would be a good place to start. Because of the size and diversity of the U. How does taking billions and even trillions from the U.S. and giving it to third world nations help global warming? Don’t give me some pie in the sky bs about how they will use it to promote renewable energy. The same thing will happen to the money that has ALWAYS happened. First the U.N. officials will take a huge chunk out of it and put that in their pockets, then when it hits a third world country it will go into the pockets of crooked officials or go towards terrorists whose goal is to attack us. As they continue to lower standards to create the illusion of higher graduations rates it doesn’t help the real problem. When schools are entitlements education isn’t appreciated and schools are forced to house students that are counter productive to the educational development of those who want to learn. The one size fits all crap doesn’t work it has only served to slow the education of the brightest and best to the pace of the dimwitted and social malcontents. And more to the point the future of a free society that questions government actions instead of mindlessly serving it require the removal of the government from the eduction of the citizens.
