U.S. General Tossed for Blasting Afghan Leaders as ‘Isolated From Reality’

One of the top U.S. Generals in Afghanistan has been relieved of command for calling out Kabul’s leadership as “isolated from reality” and failing to appreciate the U.S. sacrifice in “blood and treasure” to protect them.
Major General Peter Fuller gave an interview to Politico yesterday, and he didn’t seem to pull any punches. Fuller had particularly biting word for Afghan President Karzai, whom Fuller described as “erratic. In response to Karzai’s statement that Afghanistan would side with Pakistan in a war against the U.S., Fuller asked:
“Why don’t you just poke me in the eye with a needle! You’ve got to be kidding me … I’m sorry, we just gave you $11.6 billion and now you’re telling me, ‘I don’t really care’?”
It wasn’t just the leadership in Afghanistan that received flak from Fuller. The Afghan people came under fire for their unrealistic expectations of U.S. ability and lack of gratitude for sacrifices on the field of battle. As Fuller summarized it for Politico:
“If you’re in a very poor country like Afghanistan, you think that America has roads paved in gold, everybody lives in Hollywood. They don’t understand the sacrifices that America is making to provide for their security. And I think that’s part of my job to educate ’em.”
General John Allen, commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, responded to the news of Fuller’s comments that they are “neither indicative of our current solid relationship with the government of Afghanistan, its leadership, or our joint commitment to prevail here in Afghanistan.”
MG Fuller has served in the military for over 30 years. The disciplinary measures facing him will probably push him to retire early. For speaking his mind, Fuller’s career has probably come to a screeching halt.
And of course, this is not the first time that the White House has come down on a senior military officer for getting too frank with reporters. General Stanley McChrystal, known in the Spec Ops community for being a true warrior-commander and counterinsurgency wiz, was fired by Obama in 2010 from the top U.S. military post in Afghanistan.
His crime?
Gen. McChrystal told the world (via his staff) that President Obama had treated their first meeting in the oval office like a ten-minute photo op, and Obama seemed “disengaged,” among other not-so-shocking observations.
At some point, the White House may come to realize that false allies and bad policies are the problem– not blunt generals.

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 8:24pmAs I said prior….After watching the new show on T.V. about the navy bomb squad units over in afganistan, my attitude is what in the hell are we doing over there? It appears to me that we are waisting our american treasure, our soldiers blood. At least the way the program portray’s it, we go out daily and defuse IED’s using our soldiers as bait litterally, then the enemy comes out of the woodwork at night and plants more. These bomb squad experts then have to get out of the safety of their vehicles and try to compile evedince of which bomb maker is making the IED, why so we can give them a trial in a court of law. We need to stop putting our soldiers in undue harms way and just start killing them period…..They show our soldiers rolling through their towns and the locals are flipping them off, sneering at them, while our young men and women are going out getting killed for the afgans freedom……it makes no sense. Either fight the war to win or get the hell out!

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 9:20pmUnder the current administration, you will see some of our better officers put out of the military. Obama and crew need a military capable of going door to door inside the US. You cannot go full blown Marxist, and let people keep the guns and Bibles. Conservative officers that have a strong allegiance to the constitution leave a bad taste in the mouth of those like our current pres.
Our Army did a rapid left turn during the eight years of Clinton. Togo West (sec of the Army) had a mission to move the Army to the left. Thus we ended up with generals like Paul Eaton, and Stanley McChrystal.
The big push now will be to root out those who are vocal against ending DADT, or those that tell the truth about the negatives of homosexuals serving openly. We will get to the point where they can do as they please, and it all gets swept under the rug.

My question is where were all these outspoken generals when Obama, the DemocRATS and weak kneed Republicans turned the homosexuals loose on the the Armed Forces? Why didn’t they all speak out about that? Why didn’t they offer to resign en masse? Obama’s administration is a prime example that elections have consequences and that those consequences can be morally, economically and physically deadly.

It’s really hard to condemn Iraq for not wanting to grant immunity to our troops. They have to have read about the recruiters at gay bars the day after DADT ended. One only has to look at the atrocities u.n. troops have been accused of in recent years to understand. AND THE AMERICAN MILITARY HAS BEEN WELCOMED ALL OVER THE WORLD BY THE OPPRESSED UNITL NOW.

Meet the Vets at the Washington Monument at 0600 Friday 11.11.11. (Veterans Day, 6 days away.)
Then the entire government will be challenged to KEEP the oaths they’ve taken to uphold the Constitution, If enough Veterans, Patriots, and Oathkeepers show up they’ll be tooo afraid for their re-election to not begin Impeachment Proceedings. BUT IT WILL TAKE MILLIONS SHOWING UP SO THEY CAN’T SKEW THE COUNT!!
