U.S. Military Members and Veterans Aren‘t Too Keen on Obama’s Job Performance

U.S. Military Members and Veterans Aren‘t Too Keen on Obama’s Job PerformanceThis morning, Gallup released new research that shows a deep divide between U.S. military personnel (including veterans) and the general public when it comes to rating President Barack Obama’s job performance. Gallup reports:

Thirty-seven percent of all active-duty military personnel and veterans surveyed approved of the job Obama is doing during the January 2010 to April 2011 time frame. That compares with 48% of nonveterans interviewed during the same period.

This 11-percentage point difference shows a more negative view of the president’s actions while in office among those individuals who have served or who currently serve in the U.S. military.  While young members of the military and veterans are the most likely to afford Obama positive approval ratings, there is still a substantial gap between these individuals and their peers in the general public. It was found that 44 percent of young people ages 18 to 29 (veteran or currently active duty) approve of the president’s job performance, with 58 percent of non-military youths stating the same.

Gallup concludes its study as follows:

Americans who currently serve or previously served in the U.S. military are less likely to approve of the job President Obama is doing than are those who have not served in the military, by about 10 percentage points. This approval gap occurs across age groups.

These results come following Joe Klein’s (TIME Magazine) statement that the military’s relationship is better with Obama than it was with Bush. The other day, Klein said the following during an appearance on MSNBC:

I’d say the relationship is pretty good, very, better than it was with Bush because the military hated the fact that he wasn’t really doing the job in Iraq.

Watch Klein’s statements below:

Seems like a pretty bold statement to make. Regardless of what the military thought of Bush, the current commander-in-chief has relatively weak support for his job performance among the nation’s bravest men and women. This isn’t good news for any president, regardless of his (or her) political affiliation.

Is it true Military votes and absentee votes were not counted 2008
Yahoo Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
      yes,
Typically they aren’t counted unless the precinct tallies are extremely close. The reason being, that statistically they won‘t move a state’s electoral votes in most instances.
HOWEVER, I completely agree that on democratic principles ALL votes should be counted. Heck I’ll go farther:
1- Presidential campaigns should be limited to 60 days before the election
2- Polls should be masked 10 days before the election. Typically, if a state is shown to be leaning one way or another, voters who would vote against the drift of the state won’t even bother to vote.
3- Military/Absentee voters should be given the option of voting early. ALSO procedures, deadlines, and standard ballots should be FEDERALIZED for military members stationed overseas

This is wrong, if they can put their life on the line their vote must be counted.

Being an American and a veteran, there is no way I can in good conscious offer my support to a so-called commander in chief who trots around the globe in vast luxury, on our taxpayer dime, bowing to our enemies, kissing their a$$e$, giving them billions in aid, while throwing America under the bus. I hold no honor for a president who claims he will “stand with the Muslims.”

I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. Well, our so-called commander in chief if intentionally destroying it, with the help of his gang of criminals.

Also, I never really trusted the Gallup Pollls. I imagine they’re just another branch of the lamestream media. Telling liberals what they want to hear, by slanting statistics. Just like when the Associated Press (AP) flat out lied by claiming Obama’s approval rating hit 60% after the Osama Bin Laden raid. I find that the best source for polls is Rasmussen. Their polls are unbiased and non-partisan.

I honestly don’t see how any decent veteran or service member could support Obama.

It appears that the “anti-war left” like code pink are, like the MSM just part of the Soros funded Democrat party auxiliary. The same group of leftist malcontents that threatened Bush43 are in full support of the killing of Qaddafi grandchildren.
Ayers & Dorn are now more powerful and influential that they were as active terrorists in the ‘60’s. Still active terrorist, but now they are enjoying the protection of the Justice Department and the massive funding from the Soros empire.
Clearly the major portion of the protestors against Bush43 were active because they were part of the radical socialist movement, never because of opposition to a war.
The close link between the administration, the CiC and the radical left is evident in the personnel who surround the president. It is clear that Obama and Carter have never met a socialist dictator they didn’t love. I assume that somewhere within the administration there is a office that is providing support for FARC in Columbia in association with Obama’s good friend Chavez.

That‘s why the liberals can’t afford to let them vote. Just like the last election, the voting cards will be lost or not completed in time. If that happens again. Then the state that can’t complete the voting cards should not be allowed to vote either. I bet that would get to do the job faster and on time.

Liberal as in what? If individual liberty and freedom is the purpose of life, than we as the bearer of this born right must not use the term Liberal when discussing any concept left of the founded law – Constitution.

In agreement. There must be a consequence to deploying the military to solve a problem created by politicians ignorance or greed. A king is not in the American value system. Our Presidential office has become, through our own ignorance or greed, a Kingdom. If a single soldier (anyone that is in uniform underarms) is not standing on land of America-States, then the vote of that soldier for any National office be counted and displayed prior to the counting of those of non deployment citizens.

There are any number of other penalties that should apply to all federal elected officials when deployed soldiers are not on State soil –in other words the dissolving of our enormous Empire big stick.

I have spoken to both a LOT of veterans and soldiers and I could get nowhere near 37% of them thinking anything positive about obama or the job he’s doing/not doing. Quite of these soldiers and veterans that I spoke to without fail also stated that they knew of very very few soldiers/vets that approved of him. I think a lot of the veterans that gallup polled was ones like kerry, mcCain, and other liberals or RINO’s that had been in the military. (I started to say served but then I would have had to have left kerry out, he was in the military but he never actually served our country), he only ran and hid until he was able to injure himself enough times to be discharged and get sent home where he believed he was safe.

I think if this survey was broken down by race and rank you would see that, like the general population, blacks and Hispanics would be a greater percentage. You would also see greater support in the lower enlisted ranks.

If this is the best we can provide for a CIC then this country is worse off than I thought! I happen to agree with stats and that’s what polls are, you can massage numbers to make them tell any story you want for the out come. This man told us ahead of time what he was going to do to this country but we were asleep at the wheel. I took him at face value and have prayed he couldn’t make it happen but he has. Dismantle this Republic bit by bit until it doesn’t look like it used to. Stop and think about the youth and history for a moment. When your the new kid on the block your perception is that its always been done this way. Rewriting history is how its being done. I haven’t heard the “T” word uttered or impeachment uttered as he dismantles our counrty. Now that is said and I read most of the blogs here, I want to know what we are actively doing to make the changes we need to elect a leader to get this country back on track. Bush went into war with Congress approval people. The left should do their own homework and look who voted on going into Iraq! This arrogant s.o.witch went into Lybia without 1 approval from anyone but Obama! Now if Bush would have done this he would of been impeached!!
Obama is not looking out for our country he has done everything in his power to dumb it down!!!! I just wish the American people would stop drinking the Obama koolaid!

Obama’s father precluded his being a “natural born citizen” meaning born on U.S. soil of U.S. citizen parents; he is further ineligible by dual citizenship for being born a British citizen pursuant to the British Nationality Act of 1948, as his father was a British citizen of colonial Kenya.[1]

The Art 2, Sec 1, exemption from being a NBC, “or a citizen of the United States …” wasn’t needed if NBC means just a citizen!

Each authoritative definition of a NBC stipulates citizen parents (plural). First Congress, Ses II, Chp 3, Sec I, 104, 1790: “the children of citizens.” Bingham, House floor, 1866: “of parents not owing allegiance.” Supreme Court, Minor v. Happersett, 1874: “of parents who were its citizens.” Senate Res 511, 2008: “born to American citizens.”

Congress is hiding behind the birth certificate controversy rather than act and jeopardize reelection. Their deceptive dereliction of duty was deftly codified by rhetorically requesting guidance from the CRS on just the birth certificate issue. The expected reply was the infamous Maskell memorandum.[2]

Demand congress immediately remove Obama in accordance with their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I’d like to respectfully point out that it is obl and not ubl. ovomit sent out marching orders to the press to change it to ubl because so many people were refering to ovomit as osama and not ovomit. Interesting how the lib press just falls in line. Just like during the election when irt said to stay away from it’s family and the lapdog press did. Did they for Perrot or Bush or Palin? We all know the answer to that.

I have served for 24 years, both enlisted and officer, and am still serving today. I came in when Reagan was president. There is a marked and noticable difference when you serve under a democrat president. You alwasy feel like the rug might get pulled out from under you at any time. Look at what happened with 3/75 Ranger in Somalia. It is nothing new, and has been this way since Viet Nam. LBJ, McNamara, and his egg heads had no plan to win, they played little math games that never worked, and got thousands killed. Going into Iraq (both times), we knew what to expect, and we knew that the president (both Bushes) were not going to turn tail and run. We knew that had solid backbones, and were in it to win. The repeal of DADT is a prime example of a disdain for our military that democrats have. While you may not believe in Bible truth, world history does not lie either. No nation or superpower or civilization has ever survived more than two generations after accepting homosexuality. It is an act against the family, against our military, and against our nation. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own truth. Democrats are no friend to the military. The current love for the homosexual and turning our back on the nation of Israel will be the down fall of this once great nation. And yes, I said “once great”. No great nation kills it’s own babies.

Discrimination against gay and lesbian soldiers in recruitment, placement and promotion is prohibited in Israel. Harassment on the grounds of sexual orientation is also prohibited in the Israeli military. The military recognizes same-sex couples, including widows and widowers of the same-sex. Soldiers are also allowed to participate in Gay Pride Parades.”

Also, “Israel also has one of the highest percentages of support for same-sex marriage in the world, with 61% of Israelis supporting civil marriage for same-sex couples.[2]”

Might help you to do a little surfing on the Center for Disease Control website. If you are not aware, the CDC is not a right wing baptist organiztion. It is a federally funded group. Stats will show you that gays have extreem high suicide rates, very high drug abuse, alcohol abuse, STDs, to include 70% of AIDS cases in males, much higher rates in assault and molesting children. They do not, nor will they ever make good soldiers. They destroy the family, and the nation. Once again, you can have your own opinion, but not your own truth.
