U.S. Navy Makes Rare Decision to Send Second Carrier to the Gulf

Navy Sends Second Aircraft Carrier to Persian Gulf

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. Navy says it has deployed a second aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf amid rising tensions with Iran over its nuclear program.

Cmdr. Amy Derrick-Frost of the Bahrain-based 5th Fleet said on Monday that the deployment of the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise along the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group marks only the fourth time in the past decade that the Navy has had two aircraft carriers operating at the same time in the region.

The two carriers will support the American military operations in Afghanistan and anti-piracy efforts off Somalia’s coast and in the Gulf of Aden.

The warships also patrol the Gulf’s strategic oil routes that Iran has threatened to shut down in retaliation for economic sanctions.

      It’s all part of the re-elect Chairman Obama plan don’t ya know? War with Iran to ‘bring everyone together’ and OWS, NBPP, Nation of Islam to create the bottom-up, so he can do his top down (martial law), and gain total control.     Gosh this is dicey. The article doesn’t state from where the orders came to move a second carrier group into the Middle East as the Great Caliph Obama would never jeopardize his beloved Muslims. The US Congress really has no say over the actions of the US Military, so one can only conclude that Comrade Panetta received orders from the United Nations to send the second carrier group. I wonder what those good natured, USA loving people at the UN are thinking?

      First of all Obama was chosen and hand picked by a select group of Marxist Jewish Supremacists calling the shots in America through their complete control of the US Media and the Federal Reserve Banks. Obama would never do anything other than exactly what he’s told. While they pump him up and promote him 24/7 I suspect that if he‘d ever get out of line you’d begin seeing stories in their Media about his past gay lovers and concerns over his eligibility.

      I would be very surprised if this Oligarchy running America today hasn’t had something on every US President since Wilson.

      Now as far as the logisitics and the strategy goes I believe that putting two US Carriers in the Gulf is insane! There’s no question in my mind that the Iranians could sink them both which would be a collosal lost blood and treasure all for what??? Our saber rattling and intimidation practices? It’s absurd!

      Yes we could destroy the Nation many times over but why take such high risks? Makes no sense to me.. Simply showboating like many of the NFL wide receivers do after scoring a td. If they are serious about attacking Iran and I pray to God they don’t but stage them outside of the Gulf maybe inserting 1 within the gulf and get on with your business. If they lose these Carriers and the sailors aboard then there’s going to be hell to pay! It’s entirely not necessary!

      You are correct sir! There were two there already, or one there and a second on the way, now the USS Enterprise en route – which was supposed to be decommissioned and scraped if I recall? The drum beats louder and louder in my head now folks, just a matter of time before all hell breaks loose, geo-politically and domestically (OWS, NBPP, Nation of Islam, etc)…hold on to your hats, the ride will become BUMPY!     Come on Blaze, if you are going to reference the Carrier being sent (Big E) in the story, then find a stock image of her, your picture is of the Intrepid, you can tell because when you scroll your mouse over the image it says “aircraft carrier Intrepid”…and the 3 foot tall letters on the bow. Oh and I believe it is supposed to read “deployment of the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise along (WITH) the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group“ someone missed the whole ”with” part. If you guys are seriously going to just cut and paste AP reports, what is the point. Have some pride in your work.

    Two CVNs in the Gulf multiplies the Projected Sea Power by a factor of more than 4.
    Covering the vast sea areas from the Horn of Africa around to the interior of the Gulf of Homuz is a big operation.
    Support vessels, small boys, air intel coverage, all are needed. Plus, the enviornment for the Sailors working these vessels is horrendous. The decks on the CVs get upwards of 120Degree F plus while operating.
    The deployment is not only strategic, it is operationally (from the USN Sailor viewpoint) a necessity.

      If Obama drags us into war for whatever reason, then winning the war becomes paramount. Obama has never had a winning strategy or Afghanistan. He could not even negotiate with Iraq to keep a small force there after our withdrawal. So why would it be different in Iran? To him it would just be an election strategy, but to our troops and our country it would be war. The way I see it, whether we are at war with Iran or not, the most important thing on my list is getting the president the unemployment benefits he so richly deserves.
