UK Prime Minister Blames Multiculturalism for Islamic Extremism

MUNICH (AP) – Europe must stamp out intolerance of Western values within its own Muslim communities and far-right groups if it is to defeat the roots of terrorism, British Prime Minister David Cameron said Saturday.

Cameron told the annual Munich Security Conference that European governments have been too tolerant of some sectors of society that publicly oppose democracy or reject equal rights for all.

He said Britain had found that many convicted terrorists had initially been influenced by so-called “nonviolent extremists” – people who aren’t involved in encouraging plots, but denounce Western politics and culture – before going on to carry out violence.

“We won’t defeat terrorism simply by the actions we take outside our borders. Europe needs to wake up to what is happening in our own countries,” Cameron told the conference.

Both Britain and Germany have had noisy domestic debates about the impact of immigration, and the difficulties of integrating some religious communities, or those who struggle with the language of their new home.

In an attack on Britain’s previous government, Cameron said authorities there had been too hesitant to intervene when some sectors of society espoused abhorrent views.

“We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values,” Cameron said. “We have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and the mainstream.”

Cameron said a culture of tolerance had allowed both Islamic extremists, and far-right extremists, to build support for their causes. “We’ve been too cautious, frankly even fearful, to stand up to them,” he said.

Some European allies have criticized Britain for harboring hardline Islamic clerics and failing to clamp down on mosques that promote a perverted view of Islam.
Several terrorists involved in attacks or attempted plots in the U.S., Sweden, Denmark and Norway over the last two years have had links to Britain, or British-based clerics.

“If we are to defeat this threat, I believe it’s time to turn the page on the failed policies of the past,” Cameron said. “Instead of ignoring this extremist ideology, we – as governments and societies – have got to confront it, in all its forms.”

He told the conference that developments in the Middle East should be harnessed to disprove Muslims who claim their religion cannot be observed properly within the democratic system.

“If they want an example of how Western values and Islam can be entirely compatible, they should look at what’s happened in the past few weeks on the streets of Tunis and Cairo,” Cameron said.

Mohammed Shafiq, of the Ramadhan Foundation – a British Muslim youth group – said in a statement following the speech that Cameron has risked angering Muslims by suggesting there was widespread intolerance within the religion.

“Singling out Muslims as he has done feeds the hysteria and paranoia about Islam and Muslims,” Shafiq said. “British Muslims abhor terrorism and extremism and we have worked hard to eradicate this evil from our country.”

The British leader’s comments follow tensions across Europe since November of possible new terrorist attacks. Officials said last year that a sleeper cell of some 20 to 25 people may have been planning an attack inside Germany or another European nation.

Nine men were charged last month in Britain over an alleged plan to attack Parliament and the U.S. Embassy in London.

Last week, the U.S. State Department warned of an ongoing high threat-level in Britain, and told tourists of a specific risk to transit networks and airports.

Until moderate Muslims begin to purge their communites of extremists, and actively and openly denounce any and all forms of violence used by them, then I continue to view Islam as a reflection of the worst among them. When moderates support extremists, which is obviously the case with the 95% of Muslims who remain silent and neutral on the issue, I consider them all extremists. There is only one reason to live in a westernized culture which you despise, and that is to change it to your liking.

I never was one to try and predict the exact time or the rapture, but the guy that made the news a few months ago saying it would be in May, sure has me thinking these.

The Prime Minister has it RIGHT! I am not saying there aren’t good muslims, but the vast majority of problems in the world are coming from the muslims. Who is behind all of the terror attacks? The bending over backwards and coddling of these people needs to stop. When you have an increasing population that thinks no one should be on earth but a muslim, you are always going to have problems. But, that doesn‘t mean they shouldn’t be corrected as much as possible. Hopefully it is not too late. GOOD JOB PRIME MINISTER!

Who are these ‘Far Right’ extremists? Why, you and I who believe in factual history.

Denmark and Germany have the right idea and have expressed it: assimilate or leave. The beauty of the US over the first two centuries is that each group assimilates to the American way. Now it is a fact that Islam by way of its beliefs that the Quran is the basis for all of its adherence and as such assimilation will never happen.
If the US and Europe don’t change direction our/their end is in sight.

About 35 years ago there was an article by a Muslim. He very much wanted assimilation in the US. His idea of assimilation was that we would be assimilated into the Muslim religion. He stated that a Muslim can’t really live under our laws. They would be trying to get us to accept Muslim leaders and they would gradually have enough representation to bring US citizens under Muslim control.

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard tell Muslims recently

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote:

‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. ‘

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’

‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society. Learn the language!’

‘Most Australians (but not me) believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

Can a Muslim be a good American?
The question was posed to an American citizen who worked in Saudi Arabia for over 20 years. His reply:
Theologically – no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Religiously – no. Because no other religion is accepted by Allah except Islam (Koran, 2:256)
Scripturally – no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Socially – no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians and Jews.
Politically – no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America.
Domestically – no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat a wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Intellectually – no. Because he cannot accept the Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically – no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

At the very least it would mean a war between factions of Islam, mostly centered on the Shia and Sunni split in religious and ethnic divisions. That in its own right will be bloody enough; yet indeed a caliphite could arise without too many difficulties if the peices come togeather just right.

You know, I posted total agreement with your list on a previous reply…however, was sitting here “really” thinking about the question…I guess one could ask, “What is your definition of a ”good” American?” A person who comes to mind is Dr. Zuhdi Jasser. So…I have to take back my 100% support for the overall concept of your post…My knee-jerk reaction is that “all” Muslims believe in the Koran and what it teaches…AND…we know it teaches hatred and domination…AND…they believe in Sharia Law as a part of their religion…this is a problem for me…
Is Dr. Jasser able to separate himself from the tenants of Sharia Law and pledge allegiance to our constitution? I don’t know…this would be a great question to ask him…

I think I don’t YET know enough about the Muslim religion to take a stand right now…Do they have different versions of the Koran? I don’t know…Does anyone else know the answer to this question?

I understand why you think that I used to think the same way too but then I realized something over time. People can lie. I don’t know this guy, just because he came on the Glen Beck show and said a few good words means nothing. I mean how many good words have we heard from Feisal Rauf knowing that it is just propaganda for naive Americans to sit back down while they continue their stealth agenda. The fact is, you must look at what Islam teaches. Once you see what Islam teaches there is no room or tolerance for anything different, just look at any Muslim country and ask yourself why would it be different here.
Islam should not be allowed into America until we see the evidence of tolerance in Muslim countries until then why should we be so naive to mass immigrate Muslims to our country who only seek to use it as a staging ground to change it into what they desire. Whose rights should be protected? If you protect Muslims rights of freedom of religion, that includes killing unbelievers, so you want to protect their right to murder you? What about your rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness? You will have to give up your right to that if you give them rights to practice their religion this is why it should be banned in America immediately!

This is why Obama gave the UK nuclear info to Russia. He wants to help destroy the UK because they are waking up about the danger of Islam.

obama wants the Brotherhood to ‘save’ the people on the streets…then they will enslave them.

Rogue, you have made an excellent point and one that is well taken. I am both pleased and glad to hear that a politician has finally found the nerve or guts to say what 95% of the world is thinking and at least saying in private conversations. Most people are tired to their government allowing the abuse of laws and edicts of the chosen country while others are held to point on any violations thereof. What is the need to have a country if you want it to be a multicultural nation. Everyone crawls off into their separate holes and continues to live and speak the way they once did in the country they escaped from before arriving here or there. It is okay to speak another language at home but this country and Britian speaks a form of the Kings or Queens English. Every arriving immigrant from the moment of Nationhood understood they were coming to a different country and in most cases the language was different but they stepped up and learned the language and the culture of their adopted country. If they wished to speak their native language they did so at home. Now we wish to be politically correct and that is going to set fire to our heels. We need to dispense with Politically Correct BS and start stating the facts in realistic terms not terms meant to put icing on the cake so no-one is offended. If the truth hurts the so be it. Accept the reality of life and move forward. Lets stop bowing and catering to people who wanted to come here or they wouldn’t be here. Let’s start demanding that they accept this country for what it is and stop trying to integrate foreign cultures into the one that has served us for 300 years. If you wish to be Muslim and live by the Sharia then by all means catch the first plane out to a country where you will be welcomed with open arms otherewise; start falling in line and accept the culture of the country in which you live. You came to us we didn’t go to you. What’s it going to be? Time to make a choice and a decision; you either want to be an American or you can go back to your native country with our gratitude.

I believe that the discussion concerning the Third World War if there is a replacement in Cario will not necessarily lead to a WWIII but will percipitate the radical movement in other European countries due to a psychological win in their battle of jihad against those who stand against the terrorist. Of course, the terrorist are self appointed members who represent the real Islam religion. We must not capitulate to these terrorists in any form or they will as we have seen in past events take more drastic action to further their cause. They refer to us as Infedels and Heathen so why should we promote their belief by showing fear and compassion for their actions. There is no stronger weapon against terror than terror. There isan old Arabic chiche’ that says an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. This is not a Judaeo-Christian cliche’ but an Arabic quote. However; fear induces fear and when fear is the retribution for an act of violence with double the amount of fear to those being assaulted it has profound meaning and impact on those receiving the incoming.
