UN Climate Change Delegates Support Prank Petition to Ban Water & Derail U.S. Economy

I’ve got to hand it to the folks at the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow. They‘ve come up with a creative new way to expose the scientific ignorance of many of today’s climate change fanatics.

In a Penn & Teller-style prank, CFACT asked attendees of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Cancun, Mexico, to sign two different petitions. The first asked participants to support the purposeful destabilization of the United States economy:

The first project, entitled “Petition to Set a Global Standard” sought to isolate and punish the United States of America for defying the international community, by refusing to bite, hook, line and sinker on the bait that is the Kyoto Protocol. The petition went so far as to encourage the United Nations to impose tariffs and trade restrictions on the U.S. in a scheme to destabilize the nation’s economy. Specifically, the scheme seeks to lower the U.S. GDP by 6% over a ten year period, unless the U.S. signs a U.N. treaty on global warming.

This would be an extremely radical move by the United Nations. Even so, radical left-wing environmentalists from around the world scrambled eagerly to sign.

And to prove that some people will sign anything that has the right buzz words — think “global effort,“ ”international community,“ and ”planetary” — COP 16 participants were asked to sign in support of a ban on a dangerous chemical compound: water.

The second project was as successful as the first. It was euphemistically entitled “Petition to Ban the Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO)” (translation water). It was designed to show that if official U.N. delegates could be duped by college students into banning water, that they could essentially fall for anything, including pseudo-scientific studies which claim to show that global warming is man-caused.

Despite the apparently not-so-obvious reference to H2O, almost every delegate that collegian students approached signed their petition to ban that all too dangerous substance, which contributes to the greenhouse effect, is the major substance in acid rain, and is fatal if inhaled.

The video experiment helps us draw one of two conclusions: a) these people are absolutely clueless, or b) they really do hate water.  Either way, who really thinks these people should be considered “experts” when it comes to science?

    Someone needs to come up with a clever contract for these FOOLS to sign….. that reliquishes their rights as an American citizen……….and automatically gives them citizenship in Cuba, Venezula, or Iran and a one way ticket there.

    What is really sad is this doesn’t even begin to surprise me in the least, I would have expected no less out of those idiots. We need to get out of the United Nations, kick them out of our country and stop funding them. Just another thing along with abolishing the IRS, Dept of Education and 5000 others things we need to work on to take our country back but if we as citizens do our part it can happen.

    If the lunatic fringe can convince the majority of our citizens that carbon dioxide is a dangerous chemical, it’s a very short step to convince them that water is also a dangerous compound. After all, more people drown that are suffocated by carbon dioxide.

    Cancun Climate Change Summit speaker Ian Roberts stated that there is a direct correlation between carbon emissions and expanding waistlines. Of course, he considers this more justification to reduce the consumption of fossil fuel. For once, the man is right, at least about the fact that the use of fossil fuel has a direct correlation to prosperity and productivity.

    Seldom do the wannabe tyrants admit that their objective is to reduce prosperity and starve the population into submission. The man should be applauded for his honesty if not the validity of his argument.

    At last the wannabe tyrants admit that control of the individual using hunger and poverty is the objective of the global warming initiatives.

      “A fund to channel as much as $100 Billion a year by 2020 to help developing countries clean up industries and adapt to rising temperatures.”

      Guess which country will be expected to pay the majority of this money?

      With the fact in mind that Stossel HAD done the “dihydrogen monoxide” bit so effectively in the recent past, doesn’t it say volumes about the incredible cement-headedness of these ‘viro sphincters that they not only:

      (a) got caught in the same silly trap, and

      (b) don’t know enough about chemistry to realize that “dihydrogen monoxide” is the precise translation of “H2O”?

      When these “global climate disruption” idiots keep yammering about how “the science is settled,” does ANYBODY anywhere honestly believe that the Watermelon Whackjobs have any idea of what science really is?
