UN Security Council Approves ‘No-Fly’ Zone Over Libya

Just hours after Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi warned that his military forces would take no mercy in storming the rebel stronghold of Benghazi Thursday, the United Nations Security Council approved the implementation of a “no-fly“ zone over the country and authorized ”all necessary measures” needed to protect civilians from Gadhafi airstrikes.

On Thursday, the Associated Press obtained amateur video from Ajdabiya, the last major city between Gadhaif forces and Benghazi:

The AP reports:

The vote in the 15-member council was 10-0 with five abstentions, including Russia and China.

The United States, France and Britain had pushed for speedy approval.

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said if the resolution was approved, France would support military action against Gadhafi within hours. The U.S. said it was preparing for action. Several Arab nations were expected to provide backup.

Gadhafi vowed to launch a final assault on Benghazi and crush the rebellion as his forces advanced toward the city and warplanes bombed its airport Thursday.

Gadhafi said in an interview broadcast Thursday on Portuguese public broadcaster Radiotelevisao Portuguesa that he rejected any U.N. threats of action.

“The U.N. Security Council has no mandate,” Gadhafi said. “We don’t acknowledge their resolutions.”

He warned that any military action would be construed as “colonization without any justification” and would have “grave repercussions.”

The text of the resolution calls on nations to “establish a ban on all flights in the airspace of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in order to help protect civilians.”

It also authorizes U.N. member states to take “all necessary measures … to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, including Benghazi, while excluding a foreign occupation force of any form on any part of Libyan territory.”

This is what I say, about two weeks too late Mr. President. While you were twiddling your thumbs, planning out your brackets and Rio vacation, rebels had been crying out for support and we gave them the famous, ‘All options are on the table,’ CRAP! I must say a No Fly Zone now is insufficient to tip the balance of power now encircling the rebels in Benghazi. Air Strikes are viable, however troops on the ground or any more money giving to ‘rebuild’ Libya especially if Qaddafi regains power is out of the question. As someone else noted, our ground forces are spread out to thin, and we dont need another Lebanon incident either.

For those who say let them fight for their own independence/freedom. They have done that but without air defenses or power they are sunk. Imagine of the French did the same thing to us during our Revolution and didn’t offer help, we WOULD be still or close to being under the crown of England still. Or at least still under their tutorship and expertise.

Ill go as far as Air Strikes and a No Fly Zone but besides that nothing else should be on the table. But as I said up top, too little too late Obummer, you are doing this out of political necessity. Not out of freedom or compassion for the Libyan people and civilians. PATHETIC!

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force…. She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit….

It was a little shocking to hear the news about the no-fly zone approval. Timewise, I don’t think it was too slow or too fast, so many variables to take into consideration. More important than that is how are we all going to deal with stress in our lives? How much are we willing to let the media dictate what peace we can experience in our private life as it is? We are reaching critical mass, so what happens now?

Break on through to the other side. Made the scene, week to week, day to day, hour to hour, the gate is straight, deep and wide.

Does everyone recall the “STORM” article co-authored by “ Timothy ”VAN“ Jones” ? I bring it up because in it they discuss a strategy to weaken and thusly defeat the armed services of America. The stategy calls for our armed services to be sent to an ever increasing number of different conflicts, thereby weakening it‘s projection of force as well as it’s moral. I don’t recall if it was also stated in the article, but I have read it somewhere within this last year that the endgame is to stir up civil unrest and revolution here while our armed services were engaged overseas ( to keep the from defeating the over through of our Republic, they won’t have a way home.) thereby leaving an unprepared citizenry to deal with civil war. A war which they have been planning for decades, and have stockpiled for in preparation. They intend to over through our government, install a globalist Socialist democracy ( racism, one world governance ) and our troops? Well they intend to leave our Sons and daughters wherever they are when the fecal materil hits the whirlly bladed device, in other words they intend to sacrifice our entire military.

At least some people can make decisions! With absolutely no accomplishment during his stint in the senate, Obama won the presidency. For the first time in history a non-performer makes it to the top of the NAACP Ladder (just like basketball Folks)! He overcame all the reason not to vote for him – his friendship with terrorist Bill Ayres; member of the Rev. Wright’s Church of ******* America; his dealings with a suspect land dealer and “indicted” fixer Tony Rezko and numerous links to Marxists, communists, criminals. These documented realities did not derail this half-black man’s agenda for becoming the Bilderberg Group’s flavor of the month “president of choice”. With the complicit adoration of CBS’s Katie Couric, NBC’s Brian Williams, Chris Matthews and jack-jaw advocate, Olbermann, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper. With the help of Colin Powell, George Soros, Kissinger, Buffet, King Fahd of Saudi Arabia amd the other puppet masters from the Bilderberg Group this freshman senator of no accomplishments, pulled away to a successful win. Obama realized the “political correctness” of the media sock puppets would offer no challenge to his validity. And now, America sees Obama’s race baiting, malfeasance, indifference and true mistaken nature of the Kenyan Kid. The goal of all Americans – White, Black, Asian or native American has to be to make Obama a one-term president. America wants a legitimate president this time!

If they were, or are, targeting certain people/organizations here in the U.S. for favorable treatment that sounds very close to what a spy would do; among other things.

It should be an interesting encounter since she already has been nicknamed the Brazilian Iron Lady. It was thought that she would be nothing more than the former President Lula’s puppet (a la Putin in Russia), but she has shown herself to be quite independent and hard-nosed. She abhors lateness and will upbraid those who are not on time. She is having a Gov. Walker style battle with the unions and has told them point blank that they will not be getting huge pay increases and ridiculous pensions. She has taken a very hard line with the Chinese about the value of their currency(believe Brazil is China’s 4th largest trading partner). Unlike her predecessor she has taken a very hard line with the Iranians also. How appropriate that the O is giving a speech in a favela(slum) which has recently been pacified. Bet he thought that he was flying down to Rio to meet with Carmen Miranda.

“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation …”

I STILL don’t know who the rebels are. Are these the same people who cheered like crazy when the Lockerbie bomber returned to Libya? The ones who took part in yet another celebration of terror a year later?

==> “Despite government calls for low-key celebrations on Friday [really!], crowds took to the streets, chanting their hero’s name.

Many wore white baseball caps like the one Megrahi wore when he was set free on compassionate grounds as he was dying [sic, sic, sic] of prostate cancer.”

A no-fly zone on compassionate grounds? Where’s the compassion for all the victims of Islamic hatred?

This is, like weird. They are all Muslims every one of which wants to kill Christians and Americans. Even those Muslims moms raising little kids all over the world (Muslims are one fifth of the world’s population) are telling them everyday to forsake school and learn to become suicide bombers. All them feel that way!

So do we side with the Muslim dictators or the Muslim population? It’s a quandary, but Beck has show the vivid light of the Christian religion on this! Obama should have supported Mubarak and he did not. Sure he’s was a dictator but he was on our side. He should be supporting Qaddafi, Glenn is clear that. If he’s a dictator so what? Qaddafi is Israel’s friend.

If the Muslim, American hating, Christian hating, Buslim Motherhood population of any nation should rise up against our dictator allies, we should squash them like bugs.

And of course here’s Obama, supporting the Muslim population as he did in Egypts. Like that’s a big surprise.

If Palin or Newt were President she’d kill all those Muslims.

Loved Glenn’s show today. We need a separate forum to discuss the daily show.
